The steaks had been served, and a bottle of red wine had been opened. Yan Bin and Miao Tianyu remained silent, no longer wanting to know any further information about Lu Feng.
The more pathetic Lu Feng seemed, the angrier the two became. Han Jiaoyue wasn't about to let such a good opportunity slip by; she wanted to make the two of them completely give up on their feelings for Jin Tingting.
What does Mr. Lu do for a living?
"Let's do some small business," Lu Feng said casually.
"How small is it? How much money do you make?" Han Jiaoyue pressed.

Lu Feng thought for a moment. Considering Jiaming Foods' current debt, he realized he hadn't made any money at all. He said, "I haven't made any money; I've lost a lot."
Han Jiaoyue covered her mouth and laughed. This man really is a good-for-nothing!
They ate a meal in silence. After going downstairs, Miao Tianyu gave Lu Feng a cold look. He had already decided that he must get his hands on Jin Tingting.
This has nothing to do with Yan Bin's bet anymore; it's a matter of dignity. Now, many people in the school know that he's pursuing her, and she's chosen such a jerk to disgust herself.
"I really admire your shamelessness, it's extraordinary!" Miao Tianyu reached out and shook Lu Feng's hand, saying, "If you're poor, you should hide it, but I've never seen anyone as shameless as you in your poverty. Truly, when people are shameless, they are invincible."
"How can you talk like that? It's just a meal!" Jin Tingting couldn't hold back any longer and kept hurling insults at him all night.
"It's nothing," Lu Feng said frankly. "Being thick-skinned is a compliment. I've never been one to care much about face. Thank you for treating me to dinner tonight. I hope you won't bother my girlfriend again."
"Your girlfriend? So what if she harassed you?" Yan Bin said, a cigarette dangling from his lips. "What can you do to me?"
"Yeah, what can you do to me?" Miao Tianyu asked with a smile. "Want to hit me? You can try moving, I can get someone to break your legs, you believe me?"
"You guys said I was shameless, but it turns out we're kindred spirits!" Lu Feng looked at the two and said, "Fighting is illegal."
"It's illegal, hahaha."
The two laughed wildly, and Han Jiaoyue said, "Do you know what it means to have money make the world go round? Let me tell you, fairness is relative. Money makes you fair, understand, you country bumpkin!"
Lu Feng didn't say anything more. Before leaving, Miao Tianyu told Jin Tingting to think it over, and the group drove away.
The night air was cool. Jin Tingting stared at him blankly for a long time before sighing and saying, "Look what you've done. If you hadn't come to this meal, none of this would have happened."
“Since the problem exists, we should address it instead of running away from it. There are plenty of these kinds of people in the university; you could say every department has them,” Lu Feng said, walking along the roadside. “What are you planning to do?”
"It doesn't matter. I'm going to be a senior soon. The dorm is a mess right now. Han Jiaoyue was okay at first, but then I found out she's obsessed with money. Let's just take it one step at a time."
Lu Feng nodded and flagged down a Benben car. The two of them rode back to the school gate. He first took her back, and then Lu Feng headed towards the hotel.
Except for Jin Tingting, almost everyone in the girls' dormitory had returned. When the others saw Han Jiaoyue beaming with joy, they asked, "Has our beautiful Han found a new boyfriend?"
"I had dinner with Miao Tianyu tonight. Do you know what we ate? Tomahawk steak. Oh, and let me tell you something," Han Jiaoyue said excitedly, "Jin Tingting has a boyfriend, and he's a penniless guy from the streets."
"Really? Didn't they say that Yan Bin and Miao Tianyu are both pursuing her?"
“Absolutely true. We ate together today, and that guy was such a coward. Tianyu pointed his finger at him and yelled at him, but he still silently finished his steak. Let me tell you, he can brag about that steak for the rest of his life.”

"Sister Jiaoyue, could you take me with you next time you go?" Xu Ru's eyes were full of longing.

The dormitory door opened, and Jin Tingting dragged her tired body in. The others glanced at each other but didn't say anything. Jin Tingting went back to her bed, washed up quickly, and went to sleep.
