Lu Feng looked at her and extended his hand, saying, "Hello!"
"No need for introductions, please sit down!" Wang Lan turned her head away without even glancing at Lu Feng.
Jiang Xiaoyan glanced at Lu Feng and whispered, "Don't cause me any trouble!"
After saying that, he picked up Duoduo and sat down next to Xiaoli. Looking at Wang Lan's expression, Lu Feng thought to himself, "So what if you have a few stinking coins? In my previous life, I had billions and I wasn't this arrogant."
However, he still considered Jiang Xiaoyan's feelings, after all, he was the director of her factory, and he didn't want to make things difficult for her, so he sat down without saying anything.
"Xiaoyan, you're going to toast Sister Lan in a bit. This is a good opportunity, you know?" Xiaoli whispered.
Jiang Xiaoyan nodded and said thank you. Wang Lan hadn't invited Jiang Xiaoyan to today's dinner party; it was Xiaoli who had taken the initiative to invite her.
Several women chatted quietly, their eyes occasionally glancing at Lu Feng. Some cold dishes had already been placed on the table. Duo Duo stared wide-eyed at the sea buckthorn pear in front of her, constantly tugging at Jiang Xiaoyan's clothes.
"You should be more sensible, kid," Jiang Xiaoyan glared at her.
Duo Duo, being very sensible, didn't make any unnecessary movements, but just stared wide-eyed. When Lu Feng saw her like this, he reached out and picked Duo Duo up.
"Want to eat?" Lu Feng asked.
Duoduo looked at the sea buckthorn and snow pear, nodded, and then shook her head.
"Do you want to eat it, or don't you want to eat it?"
"I want to eat it, but Mom won't let me. I have to be good." Duoduo said, resting her little head on Lu Feng's chest.
Lu Feng smiled, picked up his chopsticks, took a piece of food, and put it in Duo Duo's mouth. The others at the table frowned secretly and muttered, "What kind of manners is that?"
"What kind of quality could a good-for-nothing like him have!"
"If I had known this family was coming, I wouldn't have come. They're such a disgrace!"
"Exactly, why don't we pack some for them and let them eat it at home?"
The harsh words reached Jiang Xiaoyan's ears. She turned around, gently patted Lu Feng, and looked at everyone with a hint of apology, feeling quite embarrassed.
A man in his thirties, dressed in a suit and tie, with a buzz cut, walked up the stairs and exuded an air of authority.
"My man is here." He Zhen stood up and waved.
The man walked over and greeted Wang Lan politely, "Sister Lan, you're here too!"
"Let me introduce you all. This is my husband. He's a section chief in a state-owned enterprise. He's nothing special!" He Zhen said, but her face was full of arrogance.
Especially when facing Jiang Xiaoyan, this arrogance became even more overbearing.
He Zhen introduced them one by one, and when it came to Lu Feng, she said disdainfully, "He's a worker in our factory. Please have a seat."
Section Chief Niu looked at Lu Feng, his eyes revealing a lot of stories. It was clear that He Zhen had talked about Lu Feng quite a bit at home.
"Old Sun and General Manager Zheng are here too. They'll be up in a bit. Tell them to bring out the hot dishes; it's not easy for us to get together!" Section Chief Niu said, then looked at Wang Lan and asked, "Where's General Manager Zhao?"
"He's been quite busy at his company these past few days, so he'll probably be there in a bit."
A moment later, two men came up. One was burly and strong; he was Li Jiaoyue's man, Boss Sun. The other was short and pot-bellied; he was Wei Jiajia's man, General Manager Zhao.
As their families arrived, the dinner table became lively, with everyone exchanging pleasantries.
Only Jiang Xiaoyan, Xiaoli, and Lu Feng sat there, looking out of place.
"Where does Mr. Zhao make his fortune?"
"What fortune? We've already lost tens of thousands this year. Only Boss Sun's business is guaranteed to make a profit."
"Is that Jiang Xiaoyan's man? Why is he dressed up like a proper man? Didn't he say he was completely supported by his wife?" Boss Sun said with a wink.
"How dare they come here to freeload? This kind of person is just shameless."
The group whispered among themselves, not very loudly, but since they were all sitting at the same table, who couldn't hear them?
Jiang Xiaoyan's face was ugly. She lowered her head and pretended not to hear. Lu Feng held Duo Duo and leaned back in his chair, coldly watching the group. He wanted to know how much superior these bosses felt.
"What are you guys talking about, bosses?" Lu Feng asked.
Everyone present was stunned, not expecting Lu Feng to actually speak, and his tone was quite aggressive.
General Manager Zheng gave a forced smile and snorted twice, his fat twitching as he said, "We're just talking about business. I wonder where General Manager Lu makes his fortune?"
Several women covered their mouths and laughed when they heard President Zheng address Lu Feng. President Lu, what a huge irony.
"I haven't made any money. I just set up a factory and started working on it. It's just getting started," Lu Feng said casually.
"Pfft!"
He Zhen couldn't help but laugh, and everyone else couldn't help but chuckle as well. The atmosphere at the dinner table suddenly became cheerful. Xiao Li frowned slightly and whispered, "Xiao Yan, tell your man to say less. Don't embarrass yourself."
Jiang Xiaoyan subtly tapped Lu Feng's hand and gave him a wink, but Lu Feng seemed oblivious.
"Mr. Lu is truly an extraordinary person. I've heard so much about you. You own a factory? By that logic, if you threw a bun to a dog, it could open a factory too," Mr. Sun said with a smile.
Everyone burst into laughter. Xiaoli smiled and echoed the laughter. She and Jiang Xiaoyan were good friends, but it wasn't worth offending a whole table of people for her sake.
Wang Lan looked at Lu Feng with a smile, as if she were looking at the biggest joke.
Lu Feng's face darkened as he stared at Boss Sun and said, "You have to apologize to me and take back what you just said."
