Chapter 237 Returning to the Village

Standing by the roadside and observing, Lu Feng noticed a rather interesting phenomenon: older people mostly wore clothes in shades of blue, white, and gray, while young people around twenty years old were much more fashionable, with some even looking better than they would have twenty or thirty years later.

The clash of these eras was so intense that Lu Feng found it somewhat strange. If he had a camera, he would have loved to film it as a memento.

The street was lined with stalls from beginning to end, filled with the sounds of bargaining and occasionally you could hear acquaintances chatting about everyday life. After browsing around all morning, I bought quite a few things, big and small bags.

The freezer at home was almost overflowing, so Lu Feng bought a newspaper when he got home. He flipped through it and found a particularly interesting news item.

The Giant Building, Asia's tallest building, is about to begin construction and will shock the world, located in the Pearl River Delta!

"Giant Building?" Lu Feng frowned slightly, recalling some things about Giant. This should have been Shi Yuzhu's first business venture when he was in his twenties. The project dragged on for six or seven years before it was declared bankrupt, becoming a famous unfinished building.

Shi Yuzhu became an inspirational figure who owed 2 billion yuan but turned his life around with Brain Gold. In the early 2000s, he seized the opportunity of the internet gaming boom and founded Giant Interactive.

The future bigwigs are either already on their way, full of ambition, or they are on their way.

With some time left until the end of the year, Lu Feng stopped going to the factory and spent his days at home playing with the children, while also comforting Jiang Xiaoyan to prevent her from going crazy with the desire to have a child.

The electronics factory was basically ready, and Zhang Fengxia would also be on holiday in a few days to go back to her hometown for the Spring Festival. Everything seemed to be frozen, and it would resume operation after the Spring Festival when everything recovered.

With about ten days left until the Chinese New Year, Lu Feng and his family of three returned to their hometown ahead of time. His family had already moved to the county town and bought a staff apartment. Although the ownership could not be transferred, they had written a note. This is how it is now, as there are no commercial housing units available.

Lu Feng's parents are villagers. Although they are only in their forties, they look very old. This year, Jiang Xiaoyan brought back the money and bought an apartment building. She also opened a shop to do some small business.

Earlier, the two of them strongly disagreed with Lu Feng going to the city. After all, Jiang Xiaoyan was beautiful, there were many rich people in the city, and according to the villagers, the white steamed buns in the city were even whiter than those in the village.

But now I am exceptionally happy, because I can make a living in the city and there is hope for the future!

The house has two bedrooms and a living room. Lu Feng's family of three sleeps in one room, so Jiang Xiaoyan doesn't need to cook. Her days are quite comfortable. Lu Feng's parents take good care of Jiang Xiaoyan. In their eyes, Lu Feng must have saved the world in his past life.

A few years ago, the family was not well-off, and Lu Feng was lazy and didn't work hard. He just went to the town every day. The old couple were very worried about him.

I thought he was just young, but once he got married, he should understand what responsibility meant.

Because Lu Feng had a terrible reputation in the surrounding area, he could only ask a matchmaker to inquire in a more distant county. Unexpectedly, he married Jiang Xiaoyan. However, what he didn't expect was that things were no different after marriage than before.

Every day, there were five dishes and a soup on the table. After a few days, Jiang Xiaoyan quietly told Lu Feng that she didn't want to go home and cook anymore if she stayed a few more days after the New Year.

Lu Feng rolled his eyes at her and didn't say anything.

Tomorrow is the Little New Year. This year, the family is rich, and Lu Wancai is thinking of celebrating his father's birthday as well, inviting all the relatives over. The main thing is to let them see that his son has made something of himself.

The eldest son went into business and became a prominent figure in the county. As for his two younger sisters, they both married well. Over the years, Lu Wancai had been harboring a grudge against them.

This year, we finally got our revenge!

The restaurant reservation has been made, with a total of seven tables. Most of the guests are very close relatives. Today, a Dafabet van was arranged. Lu Wancai will drive back to the village to pick up the old men and women, while Lu Feng will drive back with them.

Lu Feng was initially unwilling, saying that it was freezing cold and either he would go back to pick her up or Lu Wancai would go to pick her up. As a result, Lu Wancai got angry and cursed for a while.

Jiang Xiaoyan clearly understood what he meant and hurriedly persuaded Lu Feng to go back to the village with her.

The ground was covered in snow, so the car couldn't go fast, and the heater wasn't very warm either. Lu Feng slowly followed along, saying, "I should have rented a car to bring back; at least the air conditioning would be warmer!"

“This car is already quite impressive. Didn’t you realize that your old man just wanted you to drive back to the village? He just wanted the villagers to see that his son has made something of himself,” Jiang Xiaoyan said from the passenger seat. “The New Year is coming soon, and everyone in the village, young and old, is coming back.”

"It's better to keep a low profile!" Lu Feng said helplessly. He was really afraid to go back to the village because he couldn't remember anything from before and was afraid that people would find out.

"Keep it down, you're practically living with a mask on! I just don't understand you!"

Lu Feng originally thought that once he entered the village, he would go straight to the old man's house, pick up the old couple, and leave. He underestimated Lu Wancai's ability to cause trouble.

As soon as the car entered the village, there was a large mud pit, and Lu Feng watched as he deliberately drove the car into it.

"What's wrong?" Lu Feng asked, rolling down the car window.

Lu Wancai got out of the car, took a look, and said, "The car is stuck!"

“I have a tow rope in my trunk, I can just pull it up.” Lu Feng prepared to get out of the car to get the rope.

"No need! No need!" Lu Wancai waved his hands repeatedly.

"If you floor the gas pedal a couple of times, you might be able to get up there," Lu Feng said as he got out of the car.

“In our village, are you afraid your car will get stuck? Just shout one word, and the villagers will lift it out. Don’t move around, I’ll be back in a bit.” Lu Wancai said as he walked away.

For some reason, Lu Feng had a bad feeling. He had heard some older people talk about all sorts of strange things and strange people from the 1990s.
