Chapter 28 Kick the door

Today is the worst day for this workshop since it started production. The night shift workers have arrived and are dumbfounded when they see the piles of goods.

Han Dong was a responsible person. He walked over to Lu Feng and said, "Boss, if it really doesn't work, let the night shift workers rest. With so much stockpiled, I'm afraid we won't be able to sell it."

"No need, continue production. The fruit is already there, it will spoil if left any longer." Lu Feng waved to Da Tou, who walked over and said, "Tomorrow morning, change the commission to four-tenths. Let them know tonight, and load the fruit onto the truck as soon as it arrives."

Two days ago, this commission rate was something they wouldn't have dared to imagine, but now they don't find it surprising at all. Even if it becomes five or six percent, it's not a big deal.

After giving instructions, the night shift workers started their shift. Lu Feng prepared to go home. Ren Qianbo drove by slowly, looking at the small vendors carrying goods around him, a smile appearing on his lips.

Lu Feng saw him too, but ignored him and rode his motorcycle home. Ren Qianbo stepped on the gas and followed. Lu Feng quickly slowed down, afraid that if he had an accident, things might get complicated.

In today's market, if it weren't for the intense competition, the profit should still be two or three hundred thousand, which is enough to make an ordinary person go crazy.

"Is Mr. Lu going home?"

"Yeah, Mr. Ren, you probably don't have to pay for gas, since you're just burning gas while driving."

"You saw it today too. I only need to exert a little force and you can't handle it. You used to make seven or eight thousand in profit a day, but today you only make a thousand? I'm afraid it's not even enough to cover your costs, right?" Ren Qianbo said slowly and deliberately. "Young man, you've already earned enough. People should know how to be content."

"Contentment?" Lu Feng looked at him and laughed, mocking, "You're the one who really needs to know how to be content. You drive a car worth over 200,000 yuan and own a food factory, yet you're competing with me, a small business owner, for food. Who doesn't know how to be content?"

"Not bad, I didn't realize you were so quick-witted." Ren Qianbo wasn't annoyed and said, "I have enough money to crush you. If you dare to give them four points, I dare to give them five."

"You have plenty of money, give me as much as you want. It's not safe to chat while driving, I'm going home first." Lu Feng twisted the accelerator and sped away.

Ren Qianbo stepped on the gas and chased after him, shouting, "Don't fight a losing battle. You'll only lose everything you've earned. Young man, listen to my advice."

"I really want to try, even if it's like throwing an egg against a rock. But your way of persuading competitors is really cost-effective. How about this, you tell me to give you five dollars and let me withdraw. That would be more effective than this."

Ren Qianbo never expected that he would be forced to close down Lu Feng's business after just a few words. What he didn't expect was that this guy was as stubborn as a rock in a latrine, and he couldn't even gain any advantage in the verbal exchange.

"I'm not going to waste any more words with you. Go home and take good care of your wife and kids. Remember to lock the door when you go to bed tonight." Ren Qianbo finished speaking and sped away, leaving behind a cloud of dust.

Lu Feng couldn't see the road ahead, so he stopped his motorcycle, his expression somewhat gloomy. His words just now were a threat to him!

Wu Hongyu returned around noon and started bragging downstairs, telling everyone that Lu Feng was finished, his good days were over, and now it was up to him, Wu Hongyu, to take over.

He even boasted that he would become a leader in the Wanyuan factory and manage a large number of people.

It wasn't just Wu Hongyu who became arrogant; everyone noticed that He Yanli hadn't returned last night, but when she came back this afternoon, she was carrying large and small bags, and her clothes were new and obviously expensive.

Moreover, it was exactly the same as the one Jiang Xiaoyan bought. Everyone was chattering about it, saying that after being widowed for many years, she had finally found a big boss.

On Wu Hongyu's dining table was a large plate of braised pig's head, a bottle of baijiu (Chinese liquor), and three stir-fried meat dishes—a very lavish spread. Old Wu put a piece of braised pig's head in his mouth and chewed it carefully before saying, "Son, you care too much about Widow He. With money, what woman can't you have?"

"Dad, I know, I understand this principle, I'll follow Boss Ren closely!" Wu Hongyu took a sip of wine, his face somewhat ferocious, and hurriedly ate a bite of food, saying, "Damn it, fortunes change, now it's my turn, let him be arrogant again!"

“Son, I think you shouldn’t push Lu Feng too hard. I feel that once Boss Ren brings Lu Feng down, you’ll be useless too. You need to understand the saying, ‘When the cunning rabbit dies, the hunting dog is cooked.’”

"Why are you calling your son a lackey?"

Lu Feng rode his motorcycle back and parked it at Lao San's place. As he walked by, the whispering crowd fell silent instantly, and their eyes fell on him to varying degrees.

Lu Feng sneered. That's how people are. They don't worry about scarcity but about inequality. He used to be a scoundrel, and everyone laughed at him. They would even ask him a question when they met him. Now that he has money, he's all alone. It's ridiculous.

Jiang Xiaoyan had already finished get off work and was busy in the kitchen, the aroma of food wafting out. Duoduo was sitting on the bed playing with her toys. When Lu Feng entered the room, the little guy was overjoyed and climbed off the bed, shouting, "Daddy's home!"

"I'm back!"

"Wash your hands and get ready to eat," Jiang Xiaoyan said, poking her head out.

At the dinner table, Jiang Xiaoyan talked about what happened in the building that day, and secretly glanced at Lu Feng and said, "He Yanli bought an outfit exactly like mine and was walking around like that. I heard she hooked up with a big boss and has probably given up on you."

"I have no feelings for her, why would I be thinking such nonsense?"

“That Wu Hongyu has been going too far lately, spreading rumors that our factory is going to go bankrupt.”

"Don't bother with it. If it really doesn't work out, we'll just move to another place."

Lu Feng also wanted to buy a house, but unfortunately there were no commercial houses available at the moment, only employee housing, or you had to build your own. Commercial houses wouldn't appear until the early 1990s.
