Li Na sat on the sofa watching Manager Ma leave, completely at a loss. She didn't know who to trust, or what to do next.
A woman with no one to rely on seemed to have nothing to do but cry. However, she did not cry. The first thing she did was to pick up her child from school and send him to stay at a friend's house for a few days.
After returning to the factory, Manager Ma did not leave work. He sat there, feeling somewhat annoyed by Li Na's performance, and picked up the phone to make a call.
"how's it going?"
"This woman seems to be under Lu Feng's spell. I feel she's hesitant. I really can't understand her. She doesn't know anything herself, and she doesn't hand it over to someone else. I don't know what she's thinking."
"Let me tell you, Mr. Jiao and Mr. Sun don't have much patience. The business world is like a battlefield, and opportunities are fleeting. For you, this is a huge opportunity, understand?"
"Of course I know, but she doesn't understand. Should we teach her a lesson?"

At 10 p.m., Li Na still couldn't sleep. The empty room was pitch black, and she was a little scared. She turned on the light and sat on the bed, feeling restless.
Li Na could sense that the company had reached a crossroads, and the choice it made could lead to its utter destruction. She got out of bed to go downstairs to the living room for a drink of water when she suddenly heard the dog in the yard barking wildly.
Living alone as a woman, she was naturally very cautious. She wanted to stand on the second floor and look down, but before she could, there was a sudden cracking sound, which startled her and made her scream repeatedly.
Immediately following was the sound of shattering glass.
"ah!!!!!"
Li Na screamed in terror, shrinking into the corner behind the curtains, gripping them tightly as she trembled. She covered her mouth with her hand to stifle any sound, her eyes filled with fear.
"I'm telling you this is a warning. Next time, I won't just smash your window."
“Cutting off someone’s livelihood is no less than killing their parents. Think carefully about how to make your choice. We’re all just after money.”
After a couple of words were spoken outside, there was no further sound. A few minutes later, the barking stopped. Li Na, barefoot, curled up there, still too afraid to move. Her heart was pounding, and she didn't even dare to breathe heavily. Her whole body was covered in sweat, as if she had been washed with water.
She waited for over an hour until she was sure everyone had left before she shakily stood up, went downstairs, grabbed her car keys, ran out the door in her slippers, drove straight into the city, and checked into a random hotel.
At 11:30, she calmed herself down, recalled the phone call Lu Feng had made to her that afternoon, and thought about what Manager Ma had said. She then realized who had hired those people.
He picked up the hotel phone and called Lu Feng.
Lu Feng had already gone to bed. He vaguely heard the phone ringing outside, turned over and ignored it. It rang again a little while later. He got out of bed, feeling a bit annoyed. He wondered which department was calling him so late. If it was something serious, they would definitely fire him. If it wasn't anything serious, they would fire him even more.
"Who is it?" Lu Feng frowned, his voice full of anger at being disturbed from his sleep.
"Mr. Lu, it's me, Li Na!"
"President Li?" Lu Feng's anger subsided somewhat, and he asked helplessly, "What's wrong?"
“A bunch of people came to my house just now, smashed my windows, and told me to think things through…” Li Na recounted what had happened that afternoon and evening.
Lu Feng grinned as he listened. Manager Ma was truly a brilliant teammate. Wasn't he just pushing Li Na towards him? He was actually using such tactics on a woman who lacked a sense of security!
Are you safe now?
“I’m driving into the city now. No wonder my husband told me to be careful of Manager Ma. She’s using any means necessary. I’m so scared. I’m worried she might send someone to beat me up. I don’t know what to do now.”
"It's good that you're at the hotel. You're safe now. I can't explain this to you in a short time. Someone is directing Manager Ma behind this. Don't listen to her. I'm going to Xiaoshan tomorrow!"
"Thank you so much. I had no idea what to do. Luckily, I listened to you and sent the child to my friend's."
Lu Feng paused for a moment on the phone, then thought it best to be clear now. He couldn't play games with someone like her who didn't understand anything; he had to be straightforward.
"Mr. Li, let me put this to you: I am now facing an attack from the entire industry. Those who are attacking you are all my competitors. I can help you handle these matters, but I also have some requirements."
"It's good that you have requests. If you help me for no reason, why would I be afraid that you're after something? Let's be upfront about everything."
"Yes, yes, that's what I meant too. To avoid any suspicion between us, right? I want to take a controlling stake in your company and incorporate it into my enterprise as part of the industrial chain. I will give you dividends from the remaining shares every year. These dividends will be enough for the two of you to live comfortably for the rest of your lives."
Lu Feng tried to make some good promises to dispel her concerns.
The phone call lasted an hour. Lu Feng explained everything in plain language: the background, the specifics of how it would be implemented, how profits would be distributed, the future business model, and the supporting industrial chain.
"I'm done talking."
There was a long silence on the other end of the phone before someone finally said, "Okay!!!"
"What time will you arrive tomorrow?"
"I'll drive there. I'll leave in the morning and probably arrive in the afternoon."
"Okay, I'm in room 8033 of the Royal Garden!"
"Uh... okay!" Lu Feng hung up the phone, feeling a bit strange about just giving out the room number.
