On the ninth floor of the VIP Hotel, several people in old leather jackets stood to the side, while a middle-aged man sat on a large single sofa, soaking his feet in a wooden tub.
Standing next to him was a young man, in his early twenties, wearing rimless glasses, with single eyelids, and dressed in a black Zhongshan suit, giving him a sharp and imposing look.
There was a newspaper on the sofa armrest, with a piece of paper folded on top of it. The middle-aged man picked up the paper and asked, "Do you know these two people?"
"We know each other!" the man in the old leather jacket and the man with the bushy beard said in unison.
"You know this person too?" the middle-aged man asked, pointing to Lu Feng in the newspaper.
"I know them. They're in cahoots with these two, and there's another woman who stepped on our plate..."
"Plate? What does that mean? Is it the same as the basket in Northeast China?" Ke Bing asked curiously.
basket?
The man in the old leather jacket couldn't help but chuckle, then quickly suppressed it.
“Mr. Ke, ‘plate’ refers to territory. They were picking pockets on the train. It’s this ‘plate.’ The ‘basket’ you’re talking about is a swear word,” explained Liang Zihui, the young man beside him.
"Is that so? Why would a CEO take a slow train, and in a hard seat at that?" Ke Bing frowned and pondered, then picked up the newspaper and looked at it carefully.
Savor the intricacies of it.
This is no simple matter!
"President Ke, this Lu Feng is coming on strong, he's actually getting involved in this whole thing," Liang Zihui said in a low voice.
“I initially thought they were just two petty thieves, but if they know Lu Feng, this is no simple matter. Something is definitely amiss. Let’s report this first!” Ke Bing looked at the men in the old leather jacket and said, “You guys stay here and work for me. I’ll call you when I need you.”
work?
The old leather jacket and the beard were a little bewildered. He was a craftsman, after all. Wasn't he supposed to be paid 20,000 yuan? How did he end up as a wage earner?
Seeing the two men standing there motionless, Liang Zihui said coldly, "Why aren't you thanking President Ke yet?"
"Thank you, Mr. Ke!"
"Go down!" Ke Bing waved his hand and said.
The two were quite dissatisfied, but dared not say anything. After leaving the room, they whispered to the person next to them, "Weren't we supposed to be paid 20,000 yuan? Why are we working here?"
"Twenty thousand yuan upfront, or stay here and earn five thousand yuan a month. The choice is yours."
"How much?" The old leather jacket's eyes widened.
"Five thousand yuan!"
"We'll stay here!"
"Go report to the security department and come with me."
The two hurriedly followed.
A mobile phone was placed in front of Ke Bing, and a number was dialed.
The man in the small villa hadn't slept well all night. He sat there staring at his dark circles. He grabbed the phone on the table as soon as it rang once and asked urgently, "How is it?"
"We haven't found the people, but we've investigated their backgrounds. It seems these two are under Lu Feng's command at Jiafeng Electronics..."
The whole story was pieced together, and the man's face grew increasingly grim.
"This Lu Feng came prepared; he probably planned it from the beginning. He won't be easy to deal with."
"yes."
"Find those two people and find out if the ledger has fallen into Lu Feng's hands. If it hasn't, we must get it back by any means necessary. If it has, we must keep him calm no matter what he wants. As long as we don't hand it over, it's not too late."
"Don't worry, I'll immediately contact my superiors to find out where those two are."
After hanging up the phone, the man rubbed his face in obvious pain. The woman came over and asked with concern, "How did it go?"
“This matter isn’t that simple. I’m afraid Lu Feng will use this to make a deal with He Jiale.” The man briefly explained the situation, feeling that Lu Feng was warning him.
A CEO traveling on a slow train, even in a hard seat, with two thieves—if you say there's no connection, it's easy to speculate; if you say there is, Lu Feng can simply say he knows nothing about it and clear himself of any involvement.
This ambiguous relationship is very intriguing. What he can think of is that Lu Feng had already figured out the situation here before he set off, and was holding the account book in his hand, demanding exorbitant prices. If he didn't agree, he could just turn around and make a deal with He Jiale. As a businessman, he would never lose out!
The woman was shocked after hearing this. What a cunning scheme! He had orchestrated everything from the moment he boarded the train. All developments were under his control. In this game, these so-called big shots were like mice, completely at his mercy.
So young, yet so cunning—it's terrifying!
If Lu Feng knew how much they were thinking, he would probably go crazy on the spot.
What kind of nonsense is this!
I just couldn't buy a plane ticket and took a slow train, how did that become a grand scheme?
"Ding-dong!"
The doorbell rang, and the woman stood up and said, "I'll go open the door."
The man stood up, picked up the teacup on the table, brought it to his lips but didn't drink. His brows furrowed deeply, his mind in turmoil.
The door opened, and a woman in a suit walked in, looking very formal. The hostess asked, "Hello, what can I do for you?"
"Hello!" the woman in the suit said in a businesslike manner, "I'm from the Discipline Inspection Commission!"
"Smack!!"
The teacup in the man's hand fell to the ground and shattered. He stood there, stunned. So fast? That was too fast!
"Disciplinary...Disciplinary Committee?"
"That's right, we're here to register how many children your family has. We hope you'll cooperate."
