Chapter 48 Public Opinion

Inside the office, everyone looked at Lu Feng, wondering what he was going to do.

"Starting tomorrow, send a group of people out to set up a sales department to push our products into all supermarkets, convenience stores, and wholesale markets. We'll give the biggest profits to the end-users. As long as they're willing to help us sell, we can sign contracts. There shouldn't be any barriers. Understand?"

"We release the goods without charging a fee. All we need to do is sign a contract and provide a copy of the owner's ID card as collateral. If they can't buy the goods, they can bring them over. Once the goods are sold, they get the lion's share of the profits, and we keep the initial investment. Understand?"

Big Head frowned and said, "This is too much... How can we make any money? We might as well close down!"

"Boss Lu, the losses are too great." Han Dong also felt that this was not a good thing.

“We’re definitely going to lose money. That’s how you do business. How can you make money if you don’t lose money? Remember to find some smart people in the sales department.” Lu Feng said to Gao Zhiwei, “No one in the sales department knows more than you, so take better care of things.”

Da Tou still felt uncomfortable. When they were making canned goods, they made money right away, with money coming in every day. He was in charge of the finances, and looking at the money in the accounts, he was really worried.

"Brother Feng, when will we be able to make money? This factory is so big, it makes several hundred every day. There are things like maintenance supplies, meals in the small canteen, and so on. It's one thing if we can't sell the products, but it's another if we sell them and still lose money. That's a bit unreasonable."

Gao Zhiwei could tell that Da Tou and Han Dong didn't understand the market or business at all. He sat down and said, "It's tough. If they mess up, they might never make any money in their lives. Everyone's bloodthirsty. If they win, they make money."

"What do you mean by 'bloodshot'?" Big Head asked, puzzled.

"Over in Wanyuan."

“Ren Qianbo hasn’t made any moves in a long time, it has nothing to do with us!” Han Dong said.

"You two don't need to ask too many questions. Just listen to me. You take care of production, and you take care of finance."

The two nodded and fell silent. The pressure of such a large factory not being profitable was oppressive for everyone, even the usually cheerful Da Tou had fewer smiles.

After the two left, Gao Zhiwei looked at him and asked, "I've never heard of using someone else's ID card photocopy as collateral. What are you going to do with it?"

"Don't do anything else, just get the business department running smoothly!"

"Did you use those ID cards to apply for loans?" Gao Zhiwei picked up a cigarette from the table, lit one, and said, "I've figured things out these past two days. I admit you're very capable. If you had the same amount of money as Ren Qianbo, ten of them wouldn't be a match for you. You're very fragile. Even those two honest guys are starting to doubt you."

"What honest guy? He speaks so rudely. That's my brother." Lu Feng lit a cigarette and exhaled a puff of smoke.

"Using someone else's identity information to obtain a loan is illegal, and that Manager Ma will actually help you with that?" Gao Zhiwei thought he was being a bit delusional. He smoked a cigarette and said, "Ever since I met you, every day has felt like a dream. You've been doing things that make people's hearts race. Fine, you sit down, and I'll go home too."

"Hoping I'll go to jail?" Lu Feng grinned and said, "I'm afraid you won't live to see that day. Go back and rest early. By the way, is staying in a hotel expensive?"

"Of course!"

"Next to the office, there used to be a reception room with a bed. You can stay there; consider it a perk the factory gives you as the general manager!" Lu Feng walked up to him, patted Gao Zhiwei on the shoulder, and said, "If you can't sleep at night, pick a few employees and chat about sales. Of course, they have to be male employees. Don't mess around; it's not a good look."

Gao Zhiwei looked at him coldly. This man was always thinking about exploiting others. Living in the factory, he probably had to work much harder than others.

I think I'll stay in a hotel!

"I allow you to give lectures to female employees, is that not enough?"

"Get out of here, I have a wife, okay?" Gao Zhiwei was getting a little anxious. Thinking of his wife, he felt a pang of sadness and sighed, "I called my wife a while ago and told her that I met a big boss in the north and would make a lot of money by the end of the year before going back. That's why I don't dare to go back. I admit, deep down, I have a tiny bit of hope that a miracle will happen to you."

"Work hard, and I promise you won't let your wife down by the end of the year. I swear on my life." Lu Feng persuaded him for a while. He had to ensure that Gao Zhiwei would devote himself wholeheartedly to the factory. The next step would be a fierce battle, and the entire factory would need him to manage it.

Lu Feng still has to roll up his sleeves and fight Ren Qianbo.

Gao Zhiwei nodded and went to the factory to select people for overnight training!

The factory was stressful, and Lu Feng didn't want to bring that feeling home. On his way back, he bought some groceries and a new doll for Duo Duo.

The next morning, just as dawn was breaking, people came out looking for work. They saw a piece of paper posted on a telephone pole and read it aloud in a low voice: "I am Zhang Cuifang, my son is seven years old..."

Overnight, such posters were plastered all over the city. When the first batch of newspapers arrived that morning, the Radiant Weekly boldly proclaimed, "Shocking! Children's food is full of carcinogens..."

This title is so eye-catching! Food safety and child safety are put together, and most importantly, carcinogenic—two words that make anyone's heart skip a beat!

The streets and alleys, along with the authority of the newspapers, are creating a vortex of public opinion, pointing directly at Wanyuan Food Factory. Local television stations and newspapers have already sensed something amiss and have been waiting outside the factory since 8:30 in the morning.

"Mr. Ren, may I interview you?"

"Can you respond to the issue regarding food safety?"

"Something happened at our factory, you know. I heard a woman named Zhang Cuifang was beaten."
