Chapter 486 The Billionaire CEO

The people at all three tables started whispering and talking amongst themselves.

"What's wrong?"

"Didn't you hear? His word doesn't count anymore."

"Isn't it his company?"

"Now that you've been taken advantage of, let me tell you, you have no power or influence, no one to back you up. If you want to grow bigger, it'll be as difficult as climbing to the sky."

"Exactly! Who wouldn't be envious of such a lucrative business?"

"I knew it. He's dressed like a hoodlum. He doesn't look like a boss at all."

Some of the words reached Lu Feng's ears, making him slightly embarrassed, but it didn't matter. They were classmates, but they were just casual acquaintances, not to mention that Lu Feng didn't remember anything about them. It was just a meal.

"You're in the south right now, right?" Hu asked.

"right!"

Which city?

"Suzhou, Shenzhen, I bought a house in Shenzhen."

"You took some money and went to enjoy yourself? Look at you, do you even know what's most important? As a businessman, connections are the most important thing. You have some money and you go to buy houses. You'll always be a petty person and never achieve anything great." Hu shook his head.

Lu Feng was speechless upon hearing this. He figured that spending money to build those connections would be less profitable than buying a few houses over the next ten years or so.

“I’m also in Shenzhen. Go ask around. I’m a big name. Everyone calls me Mr. Hu. What’s this? This is money. Do you understand?” Mr. Hu asked in a lecturing tone.

"I don't understand these things." Lu Feng shrugged with a half-smile and said, "I'm an honest man."

"You were doomed back in school, and you're still doomed now." Hu tapped his cigarette ash and said, "It's only because we're classmates that I have any connection with you in Shenzhen. I'm telling you, it's one of those really high-end banquets with foreigners in it, you know?"

"That day, a blond, blue-eyed foreigner saw me and rushed up to me in a flash. He was really excited and said, 'I really admire you and want to hang out with me.' Brother, let me tell you, there are way too many guys in that area who want to hang out with me. I don't care about this kind of guy. I told him right away, no way!"

"After I rejected him, the foreigner cried his eyes out, and his pants got all wet!"

"Are you sure he didn't pee?" Lu Feng asked, frowning.

"What do you know? Have you ever been to one of those high-end banquets?"

Lu Feng shook his head. He hadn't been attending any of those boring banquets lately; he had a whole stack of invitations, all of which Zhang Fengxia had turned down.

Liu Jiang said from the side, "Han San is doing really well over there, he knows a lot of big shots."

"That's right. Let me tell you about someone who's worth hundreds of billions. He held my hand and asked me to be the president of his company. I refused right away. I said I didn't want to be your president. Give me two years, and I'll be worth hundreds of billions like you."

Hu sat there with his face practically screaming "pretentious."

"Great, fantastic! Our class's pride!" Liu Jiang led the applause.

Lu Feng glanced at it and thought, "Isn't I the pride of our class? It's only been a few minutes, and he's already the one who's proud?"

Everyone in the room applauded, and Lu Feng, sitting to the side, also applauded.

“A net worth of hundreds of billions…” Lu Feng smacked his lips and said, “There really aren’t any companies like that now. Maybe a few billion. Some companies that do foreign trade, shipping, and various diversified industries have a net worth of several billion.”

"Look at you, so ignorant! If you're so ignorant, then don't talk. Do you think there are several billionaires in this poor place? You don't believe me, do you?" Hu, slightly drunk, put his arm around Lu Feng's neck and said, "You look down on me?"

"No, no, you're the pride of our class, how could I look down on you? I'm full, I've seen everyone I needed to see, I'm going out to pay the bill and head back." Lu Feng was already planning to leave.

"Don't go, you just don't believe me. I'll get in touch with someone and show you." Hu started pulling out a business card from his pocket.

Lu Feng sat in his seat, feeling somewhat helpless. Everyone else craned their necks, eager to see what the billionaire CEO's phone number was. Everyone was staring intently at Hu when the room door was pushed open.

The local county head and several officials in charge walked in, holding wine glasses. Everyone turned to look at the doorway.

"President Lu!" The county head greeted Lu Feng with a smile, "Long time no see, Happy New Year."

"Happy New Year!" Lu Feng stood up, shook hands with the person, and suddenly remembered that he had promised to build a factory here.
