Lu Feng was taken aback for a moment, then realized what he meant and asked, "Right, how did you end up calling me?"
"Me!" Hu glanced at the half-finished business card in his hand again. He was sure he hadn't made a mistake and said, "I didn't make a mistake."
"Who knows where this business card came from? A CEO with billions? And it ended up coming to me. Isn't that funny?" Lu Feng chuckled and said, "That really was my wife. I really should go back now. County Chief Wang, we can have a meal sometime. As long as it's within my power, I'll definitely do it for you!"
"Okay, keep in touch, and come back to visit often." County Chief Wang stood up and said, "I'm going back over there to continue my meal. If there are any suitable companies, I can help make connections."
"That's for sure, please!" Lu Feng gestured for them to leave. After County Chief Wang walked out, Lu Feng addressed the group, saying, "Classmates, this gathering has truly elevated our friendship. I hope we can get together every year in the future. It's my wish. It's an honor to be classmates with you all. I was thinking of singing karaoke this afternoon, but my wife is really urging me to."
Lu Feng made polite remarks, and everyone expressed their understanding.
"Han San, keep in touch when you go south. We're classmates, so just ask if you need anything. Don't worry, it's all about helping each other out when you're away from home, especially since we're such good friends. I'll treat you today, and you can treat me next year. Have a good meal and drinks, everyone. I'll be going now, sorry."
Lu Feng's words were comprehensive, but once you leave this door, finding Lu Feng will be difficult!
After going downstairs, Lu Feng not only paid the bills for the three tables, but also for County Chief Wang. He had to give him face; it was a small matter that could be resolved with a little money, and there was no need to make things too awkward.
Hu sat in his seat, holding half a business card in his hand, lost in thought. Something felt off, so he found a few more business cards and made a phone call.
"Hey, this is Han San. I need to ask you something. Do you know a CEO named Lu Feng?" Hu asked into the phone.
There are many CEOs with the surname Lu, which one are you referring to?
"Is he the CEO that Mr. Li was bragging about at the dinner table last time? Is his surname Lu?" Hu asked nervously.
"You mean Mr. Lu from Jiafeng Electronics? How could I possibly know him? If I knew such a big shot, would I need to attend all sorts of banquets to build connections?"
"Isn't that Mr. Lu very young, in his twenties? Did he used to work in the food industry?" Hu asked.
"Yeah, you don't know unless you're in this industry. He's a household name in the electronics industry. He's got some amazing experience. He started a business called Jiaming Foods, then cashed out 100 million and rushed into the electronics industry, turning it upside down. The reason why TVs are so cheap these past year is all because of him. The price wars have been so intense that people are practically losing their minds."
"I have something to tell you!" Hu took a drag of his cigarette, feeling his throat was a little dry, and then took a deep breath and said, "He's my classmate!"
"What? Mr. Lu is your classmate? Holy crap, you're rich now!" someone exclaimed excitedly on the other end of the phone. "Go back here and invite him out for dinner, organize a get-together. Let me tell you, a whole bunch of big bosses want to meet him!"
"I was having dinner with him just now, and I think I offended him." Hu felt like dying at this moment. What had she done? How could she be so materialistic?
If I didn't ask him for a favor today, but just simply reminisced about our friendship as classmates and apologized for hitting him back in school, our relationship would definitely improve.
Hu is a very clever person. He knows very well that you can't talk about money when you're with rich people. You have to show that you are willing to give to them, and you have to refuse them even if it's money.
You should present yourself as a pure and innocent person, not a materialistic person who is greedy for money.
"I've messed everything up!" Hu slapped his thigh, full of regret. "I thought his Jiamai Foods had been taken down and he'd lost control, that he'd lost his footing. Who would have thought that not only did they not lose their footing, but they'd actually become even more successful."
Everyone stared at Hu. Liu Jiang, sitting to the side, saw his regretful expression and said, "Why don't you go after him now and say a few nice words?"
"The first impression is already ruined, what's the point? Chasing after them now will only make them dislike us more." Hu waved his hand helplessly and said, "Let's drink!"
Lu Feng was initially worried that Hu would chase after him, and he would have to be polite. It's so comfortable dealing with clever people; some things are understood without needing to be pointed out.
In this society, never wear your motives on your sleeve.
Song Xuemei took her whole family home, and less than two hours later they went to the old Chinese medicine doctor's place, a storefront facing the street with a weathered nylon cloth iron frame plaque that read "Old Song, Chinese Medicine Doctor".
The room was rather old, with a long wire hanging from the ceiling, from which hung a tungsten filament lamp. Next to it was a wooden chair, where Jiang Xiaoyan sat waiting, her hand nervously stroking the armrest.
I don't know how many people have touched the handrail, it's been worn smooth and shiny. Duoduo sat next to it, shaking his head and looking at the dark red medicine cabinet behind him.
"Mom, it smells awful!"
"It smells like Chinese medicine. Sit here and don't move around. Be good," Jiang Xiaoyan said, patting her little head.
After waiting for almost an hour, the person in front of them finally left. Song Xuemei led Jiang Xiaoyan to the counter and sat down. Behind the counter sat an old man in his seventies, wearing a white coat and reading glasses. He looked rather thin and looked up at Jiang Xiaoyan.
"Where do you feel unwell?" the old Chinese medicine doctor asked.
Song Xuemei lowered her voice and said, "I just can't get pregnant."
