It was already five o'clock. The sun was setting, and a golden sun hung in the upper sky, radiating warm sunshine. The air was filled with the scent of spring.
The weather is warming up for the next few months. The weather is nice today, and the streets are bustling with people dressed in a variety of ways. Young people have already changed into light clothing, while older people are still bundled up.
Mayor Wang got out of the car, and his secretary followed him into the elevator.
Lu Feng was half-reclined on the rattan chair in the room, rocking back and forth. The phone was on speakerphone, and there were jingling sounds coming from the other end.
"Is the medicine ready? If you can't drink it, prepare a spoonful of white sugar. After you drink it down, put the sugar in your mouth and you won't feel so nauseous," Lu Feng suggested.
"I threw up yesterday, wasting some medicine. I'm just destined to suffer like this." Jiang Xiaoyan's voice was somewhat helpless.
"Dad, I want to eat big crabs."
"Dad, there are no big crabs here, only a big hammer for you. Do you want some?" Lu Feng said weakly as he lay there.
"Dad, I'm telling you, there's a really big hole at the edge of the village, and I saw a rabbit there. Can you catch it for me?"
"Grab a hammer."
No matter what Duoduo said, Lu Feng would just say "bullshit." The little guy and several other kids were making a ruckus at home, and Jiang Xiaoyan kicked them out.
“I called the manager yesterday. The factory has resumed production. After the 15th, I will send Duoduo back. Can you make it back to Shenzhen? If not, I will go back. She has been getting better from the acupuncture these past few days. From now on, she will mainly take medicine.” Jiang Xiaoyan said to Lu Feng while looking at the medicine she had prepared.
"This matter is a bit complicated for me, let's talk about it later."
The two were chatting about everyday matters when there was a knock on the door, followed by a deep voice: "President Lu, it's me, Mayor Wang. Can we talk for a bit? The provincial government called me; things need to be resolved."
"Someone's calling, I have to go now." Lu Feng sat up and hung up the phone.
Standing up and opening the door, Lu Feng glanced at Mayor Wang and said, "What a rare guest! Shall we go to the reception room?"
"No need, let's chat here for a while." Mayor Wang went straight into the house, sat down on the sofa, and got straight to the point: "You've made such a big fuss, and now that you've succeeded, let's not talk about empty words. Let's get straight to the point. What are you thinking? What do you want to do?"
"I'm just advocating for scientific research in China," Lu Feng said sincerely.
"Stop waving that banner around. You don't have the vision. I'll give you a straight answer: this industry must be established here. Do you understand?" Mayor Wang said directly.
“I understand, I understand that very well.” Lu Feng sat down and glanced at his secretary beside him.
"Go outside and wait."
The secretary turned around, walked out, and closed the door.
"The provincial commerce office called and said the price was too low and they needed to reschedule. Even if they raised it to thirty million US dollars, you would still interfere, right?" Mayor Wang asked.
"If it's 30 million... I might not necessarily stop it, but I can be sure that if this industry is handed over to someone who doesn't understand the domestic market, it will fail in less than two years."
"So it has to be handed over to you, right?" Mayor Wang stared intently at him.
"No, I'm doing this for the sake of industry and development..."
"Don't give me that. I don't even believe your punctuation. Let's talk about something practical, okay?" Mayor Wang said, spreading his hands. "Let's show some sincerity between people."
"I'm not just talking about trivial things. We can license the patent, there's no need to sell it. That's what I really think. He can license it to me, or he can use the patent as equity. These are all options. If you want to hear the practical stuff, then I'll talk about the practical stuff."
Lu Feng sat up straight and said seriously, "Don't do a one-off deal, the risk is too great. This technology is so hot right now, and the market is optimistic. If we sell it directly to someone else, what if the market explodes later? You'd lose a lot. As for your matter, I've also considered it. You can invest and authorize me to produce it. The base will definitely be here."
"The industrial base is here? You don't have a factory here. If you build a factory now, Jiafeng Electronics will be insolvent."
"It's not about opening a factory here, but about placing the industrial zone here so that supporting production can be carried out. I can bring some products here to assemble and sell. If you want to build an industrial base, that's still no problem. Just put a big shell in it and put some vegetables inside, and the industries that should be driven can still be driven."
“Once sales are good, this will be the first choice for our branch factory. You want cotton-padded coats. Who says a cotton-padded coat has to have a lot of cotton to be called a cotton-padded coat? Just stuff some cotton in it and we can continue later. I can come over in the summer and we can set up an industrial fund pool. I will donate money to help local industrial development.”
"You can say to the outside world that you've done everything you could, it's just that foreign capital hasn't come. Director Jiang has kept the patent rights in his own hands, so he has more options in the future. If the market isn't great, he can sell it again. Although the price won't be as high as it is now, the two rounds of money together will definitely not be less than the current one-off deal."
Mayor Wang pondered for a moment. What Lu Feng said was indeed a win-win-win situation for all three parties. The problem was that he lacked a track record of attracting foreign investment, and today he had finally brought that to the surface.
If this continues, Lu Feng will cause more trouble. There's a provincial meeting in a few days, and if he keeps making a fuss, who knows where the meeting will be held.
“You’ve told me the truth. I’m going to a meeting tomorrow, and we need to finalize this this week.” Mayor Wang stood up and said, “I need to talk to the foreign investment team again.”
"Thank you for your hard work!" Lu Feng stood up and greeted him with a smile, personally opening the door for him. He said, "Thank you for your help. I'm a very easy person to get along with. You can ask me for anything. Jiafeng Electronics is developing very quickly, and it's certain that some of its businesses will extend here in the future."
