Chapter 619 Where did they kidnap someone from?

Su Yourong was slightly taken aback when she heard this, and said, "I know. I appreciate your kindness and have reflected on what happened before. I don't blame you. If I had followed the right path, those things wouldn't have happened. Ultimately, it's my fault."

"That's all I have to say, I'm hanging up." Lu Feng said and hung up the phone.

Jiang Xiaoyan could sense Zhang Fengxia's unusual behavior and looked at Lu Feng, asking, "Who is it?"

"A boss from Hong Kong," Lu Feng casually brushed it off.

It was almost the end of August, and the most unbearable heat had subsided considerably. Duoduo didn't want to do her homework and went to bed early. Zhang Fengxia also drove back to the factory.

After watching two episodes of the TV series, Lu Feng and Jiang Xiaoyan went back to their room. Lying on the bed, Jiang Xiaoyan couldn't fall asleep. She glanced at Lu Feng beside her and then reluctantly climbed onto him.

"Don't lie there," Lu Feng said, quickly sitting up. "Just bear with it a little longer, and you'll be able to get rid of the itch by this time next year."

"It's not about that." Jiang Xiaoyan rested her head on Lu Feng's chest, raised her eyelids and stared at him, asking, "Who was the woman who called you during dinner?"

"It's a woman!" Lu Feng reached out and pulled her into his arms, saying, "Didn't I tell you? She's just a boss from Hong Kong. What are you thinking? Besides, don't you know me? Am I that kind of person?"

Jiang Xiaoyan looked at him and nodded, saying, "Yes!"

Lu Feng:.............

“I know what you were like before. If you insist on finding someone, I can’t stop you. I just think Fengxia is pretty good.” Jiang Xiaoyan said to Lu Feng, whether she was telling the truth or not, and then looked at him.

Lu Feng chuckled as he looked at her and said, "Are you testing me? Don't be silly, don't sleep on your stomach, you'll roll over onto the baby."

"Is she really the female boss?" Jiang Xiaoyan asked.

“If I keep a mistress on the side and leave her out there, do you think I’d come home every day? Don’t overthink it.” Lu Feng patted her head and helped her lie down.

"Ouch!" Jiang Xiaoyan suddenly cried out, her face contorted in pain.

"What's wrong?" Lu Feng asked anxiously.

"My stomach hurts a little!" Jiang Xiaoyan gasped, as if she was in great pain.

"Quick, quick, to the hospital!" Lu Feng hurriedly jumped off the bed and was about to carry her to the hospital.

"Just a stomachache? You're going to the hospital? It's nothing serious, probably just a chill. I felt a bit of pain in the yard this afternoon, but it got much better after I put on a jacket." Jiang Xiaoyan took a deep breath, pulled the thin blanket over herself, and said to Lu Feng, "When we went to the hospital, all they said was that I needed to use the restroom. How embarrassing! Do they have too much money to burn?"

"Are you really alright?" Lu Feng looked at her and said, "You're different now than before. You're carrying a child, so it's two people, you know?"

"I know, I'm much better now, I just caught a cold." Jiang Xiaoyan smiled and said, "It's okay, go to sleep."

Seeing that she was alright, Lu Feng felt relieved, lay down on the bed, pulled the blanket tighter, and the two whispered to each other for a while before falling asleep.

The following morning, the Suzhou Daily's front page headline read: "The Post and Telecommunications Group and Jinfeng Logistics, a subsidiary of Jiafeng Electronics, have reached a strategic cooperation agreement, writing a new chapter for the logistics industry."

The city attaches great importance to this cooperation, and it has been reported in most major media outlets.

Yang Yan has returned to the provincial capital. Sitting in his office, he felt restless. Looking at his office and then at the people around him, he realized that nothing had changed in ten years. If the company hadn't been split up, these would still be the same people ten years from now.

Life in state-owned enterprises is about stability, but too much stability can be boring. Doing the same thing day after day makes you feel like a machine.

Unlike private enterprises, they have to fight the market every day and change their business strategies at any time.

For Yang Yan, who had worked in state-owned enterprises for over a decade, the Post and Telecommunications Group was like an old married couple—too familiar, too boring—while private enterprises were like a little devil, tickling his heart.

After sitting idly for the entire morning, he picked up his teacup, took a sip, spat out the tea leaves that had slipped into his mouth, took a deep breath as if he had mustered a great deal of courage, and stood up to walk toward his office.

After knocking on the door and seeing his supervisor, Yang Yan said, "Boss, I'm not feeling well and would like to rest for a while."

"Many people are on leave recently, let's talk about it next year," the leader said without looking up.

"I want to go to the hospital for a medical appointment. I need to take sick leave."

"Go see a doctor, and get back to work when you get back. Besides, what's wrong with your health if you just stay in the office?" The boss looked up at him and said, "You got tired after going out with General Manager Guo?"

"Everyone else is treating, but I can't?" Yang Yan was a little unhappy.

"Because others have invited you, you can't. You don't need to talk to me like that. Everyone knows there will be a split next year, so everyone's on sick leave, busy entertaining guests. Who's going to do the work?" the boss snapped. "Do you expect me to do the work here?"

Yang Yan knew that it didn't matter if he didn't have connections. When it came time to work, he would be at the forefront and everyone would praise him for his ability and competence. But when it came time to enjoy the fruits of his labor, he wouldn't get a share, and he would feel humiliated even when he asked for leave.

Growing angrier by the thought, Yang Yan said unhappily, "I'm taking the day off!!"

"You insist on taking leave? I'll see if you don't come!" The boss slammed his hand on the table and roared, "You've gone too far! This is the workplace, not your home! You can't just come and go as you please! I'll see if you leave here!"

"I'm leaving. Let me tell you, I'm quitting. Don't try to boss me around here. You'll be sitting on the sidelines after the breakup. I'm going to start my own business and I won't have to worry about anyone."
