Master Jin even called Boss Shi directly, telling him that this deal was not to be done without his, Master Jin's, and no one else was allowed to do it. Did they really think these people were just freeloaders?
Mr. Shi refused on the spot, telling him to prove his skills with his own hands.
The business world Lu Feng had experienced was one that had shed its江湖 (jianghu, a term referring to the world of martial arts and chivalry) spirit and was now only tainted with the smell of money. But the business world in Baiyuan City now is more like a江湖 (jianghu), with various factions entrenched and interests intertwined.
At 7:30 p.m., Lu Feng woke up. When Bai Yuanfang saw that he was awake, he said, "Jin Sanye's convoy will be here in five minutes."
"Why don't we eat here?" Lu Feng asked, puzzled.
“At his villa in the suburbs!” Bai Yuanfang said with some concern, “I think we should tell him to come here. It’s not safe to go to his territory.”
Lu Feng, fiddling with the buttons on his shirt, said, "What's there to be afraid of? If he wants to do business, he can't do anything to me. Besides, I'm Mr. Weng now, White Rabbit is a state-owned enterprise, and my dad's rank isn't low. Does he want to die?"
"Yes, I'll go with you."
A dozen minutes later, a row of Mercedes-Benz W14s were parked downstairs, with a dozen or so fit young men standing there, all dressed in suits and sunglasses. They made quite a show of themselves, looking like tough gangsters from a movie.
As Lu Feng descended the stairs, everyone bowed in unison and shouted, "On behalf of Master Jin, we welcome Mr. Weng. Please!"
Lu Feng walked up to them, looked at them, and asked, "Wearing sunglasses at night, won't people think you're blind?"
"Pfft!" A young man couldn't help but laugh out loud, then quickly stifled it.
Lu Feng got into the car, and Bai Yuanfang tried to follow, but was stopped.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jin only invited Mr. Weng."
Lu Feng looked at Bai Yuanfang and said, "It's alright, I can manage on my own. You can go back now."
Bai Yuanfang nodded, a hint of worry in his eyes.
Everyone got into the car, and it sped off towards the suburbs.
There are no factories in the suburbs yet, just pure green hills and clear waters, and no one cares about the land. A Chinese-style courtyard was built at the foot of a low hill. Looking down from above, you can see pavilions and towers, with a pond and flowing water winding down inside. It was quite expensive to build.
Lu Feng got out of the car and looked at the two gilded characters on the gate: Jin Mansion!
Once inside, after passing through three gates, Jin Sanye was sitting in the central hall. Seeing Lu Feng arrive, he stood up with a smile and said, "Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Weng. We have prepared wine and dishes at your residence. Please!"
"Master Jin really has a refined taste. He built an antique-style mansion in this place." Lu Feng looked around. Such a large courtyard would appreciate in value even decades later.
"It's nothing. As long as the cooperation is agreed upon, you can have this mansion if you like it," Jin Sanye said with a smile, looking at Lu Feng. "And there are more than a dozen waitresses, all of them are top-notch!"
