It was late at night. Inside a building, the lights were off, and moonlight streamed in through the windows, casting a white glow on the ground, as if it were a mysterious entrance.
The house was quite simple, without appliances like a TV or refrigerator. Jiang Xiaoyan couldn't sleep and sat on the sofa, staring blankly out the window.
Her long hair had been cut short, giving her a capable look. She was wearing a white polyester short-sleeved shirt, and a radio was playing on the table in front of her.
"Dear listeners, it's late at night. Whatever you're facing right now, I hope you can stay strong. When the sun rises again tomorrow, it will be a brand new day. Let's say goodbye to today with a song, 'The Outside World,' released by Chyi Chin in 1987. Let's bid farewell with this song..."
A melodious song came from the radio. Jiang Xiaoyan was afraid that the sound would be too loud and disturb Duoduo, who was sleeping soundly in the room, so she turned the volume down.
