“Actually, I also feel that those assets don’t seem to be worth that much money,” Yui Kurai said.
“It’s not just your opinion; we’ve done an assessment. I understand you. If it really doesn’t work out, I’ll go talk to your headquarters. It’ll just take a little time.” Lu Feng seemed to have no intention of pursuing her anymore.
The car stopped in front of a building. After thanking Lu Feng, Yui Kurai got out of the car and suddenly asked, "Lu Feng-kun, how can I contact you?"
"This is the hotel's phone number. Just transfer me to my room." Lu Feng handed her a hotel business card.
"Okay, please get some rest. I've really bothered you today." Yui Kurai bowed slightly and said politely.
Watching Lu Feng's car drive away, Yui Kurai stood by the roadside and breathed a sigh of relief. She picked up her bag and headed home.
The recent housing bubble in Japan didn't affect her too much. Her house wasn't big, only 70 or 80 square meters, and she didn't have a mortgage. Her husband was a nobody novelist in the area.
As soon as Yui Kurai entered the house, a man with disheveled hair, wearing slippers, walked out of the bedroom. His eyes radiated the fatigue from staying up all night, and his expression was extremely gloomy.
"Where have you been? Huh! What time is it? Aren't you going to cook?" He seemed agitated, standing at the bedroom door and yelling, "You were drinking? You bitch, who were you drinking with? Was it your boss?"
Yui Kurai looked somewhat dejected, raised her head and said, "I'm with a client today!"
"Oh, so you're going to entertain clients? Does your department even need to entertain clients? Are you suggesting we give you a raise? Huh!" He hurled insults like a wild beast going berserk, yelling, "Don't think I've never worked before and don't know what entertaining clients is all about!"
Yui Kurai couldn't take it anymore and said in a deep voice, "You can't just stay in your room all day and rely on your imagination, can you? Do all those dirty scenarios you write in your books have to happen to me?"
"Pusu! Baka!!"
Yui Kurai didn't want to argue anymore. She knew she needed to be patient. This country was not tolerant of women, especially married women who were still working.
Serving their men seems to have become their only mission. They stay at home obediently, docilely, and always with a smile on their face. Under such repression, their infidelity rate is alarmingly high worldwide.
Yui Kurai didn't yell back; she just silently went to the kitchen to cook.
Regardless of the country or customs, the one thing that remains constant is that, regardless of gender, as long as one has money, one can occupy a dominant position in the family.
Yui Kurai was cooking. She hadn't had any children yet because of this job, supporting the family, but this was the kind of treatment she received every day when she came home.
Her current salary won't change much after the divorce; in fact, she'll likely face some strange looks from society. But if she becomes wealthy, things will be completely different.
At the hotel entrance, Lu Feng got out of the car and walked silently toward the lobby. Jin Tingting stepped forward and said, "It seems like it's not going to work out. We've wasted some money. Let's contact their headquarters instead."
"It's too early to say we've failed. Let's wait a bit longer. This woman is greedy!" Lu Feng walked through the door, and several managers in the lobby bowed to him. Lu Feng didn't even glance at them and said, "Greedy? That makes things easier!"
A manager walked over with a smile and rattled off a bunch of things. Lu Feng looked at the translator, who looked embarrassed and seemed unsure of what to say.
"What's wrong?" Lu Feng asked, puzzled.
"She asked if I needed any services, from children to adults, some of them part-time." The translator said somewhat awkwardly, "They all run their part-time jobs openly and legitimately here."
"Those part-time jobs in China are all fake, not professional at all!" Lu Feng muttered, "Forget it, I don't need them."
"What kind of part-time job?" Jin Tingting asked, puzzled.
"We're just doing part-time work helping men improve their blood circulation. We've only been here a day and we've already been busy like this. Let's all go back and rest early. I won't have dinner." Lu Feng said as he got on the elevator.
"Blood circulation aid?" Jin Tingting muttered to herself. She was truly exhausted. She had spent three hours on a flight in the morning, then sat on the tatami mat for more than three hours for lunch, and had been busy until now. She said to the translator, "Tell the manager that I need it."
"ah?"
