Nai Xueli sat in her office, somewhat dazed. Everything from last night felt like a dream, and when she woke up, everything had vanished. She had felt lost and listless since morning. She took a deep breath and forced herself to get back to work.
Watanabe Shi had worked at the Rohm Group for over twenty years and was considered a veteran in the company. It wasn't difficult to get information about him; in less than half a day, he obtained very detailed information from a local consulting firm.

This is an outstanding resume. Graduated from a prestigious university, served as a second-level department head at two of the world's top ten financial companies, participated in insurance and bond issuance, and has extensive connections in the mid-level management of Wall Street.
Watanabe Shi was doing so well that he didn't need to come back at all, but he still came back. It had nothing to do with whether he loved his country or not. Over the years, people have been speculating that he did something or offended someone, which is why he couldn't stay there anymore.
The most widespread rumor is that he developed very rapidly back then, and because he was young, he got involved with the mistress of Willem, the then CEO of Goldman Sachs. After the affair was exposed, he couldn't make it in the industry and returned to work.
The reason this version is so widely circulated is that in that year, Willemer had a falling out with his mistress and eventually resigned. Watanabe Shi was quite handsome when he was young, and according to records, he currently has four mistresses and his private life is rather chaotic.
