In Kevin's eyes, Lu Feng was a cunning and shrewd man, the kind who seemed to have a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Du Guoying, on the other hand, looked like an ordinary person, and Kevin viewed him with the mindset of someone looking at a weakling.
"What's wrong?" Kevin asked with concern.
“You don’t know, my whole family depends on me. I came here to find a job, otherwise I wouldn’t have come out during the New Year. But I haven’t found a job, and I don’t know how to face my family.” Du Guoying looked at Kevin with a sad expression and said in a low voice, “You can also tell that Boss Lu is quite rich.”

Kevin was in a dilemma. He really didn't want to stay with Lu Feng and didn't really want to help him.

Lu Feng sat at the dining table, propping his head up with one hand, listening to the two's whispers, though he couldn't hear them very clearly. After a while, Du Guoying came over and sat down again, and Kevin also sat down.
"What have you two been talking about for so long?" Lu Feng asked curiously, looking at the two of them.
"Nothing much, just recounting some of Mr. Lu's glorious achievements." Kevin sat down, poured himself some red wine, and said to Lu Feng, "Mr. Lu, you keep talking about fate. I think Du Guoying and you have a particularly strong connection!"
Lu Feng glanced at Du Guoying, laughed, and said, "The three of us are really destined to meet. I still hope you can think carefully about what I said. We have no grudges against each other, and I would never harm you, right? You've had a bit too much to drink, take a break first."

For Du Guoying, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rise to the top by riding on Kevin's coattails. For Lu Feng, Kevin was the hairy crab, and Du Guoying was the rope. As long as he tied himself to this hairy crab, he could sell his rope for the price of a hairy crab!
Unfortunately, there was one possibility he never considered: he and Kevin were both dishes on Lu Feng's table!
Kevin looked at Du Guoying and asked, "What did you do before?"
“Teacher! I went to a teacher training college,” Du Guoying replied.
"Then why didn't you quit?"
Du Guoying sighed, her expression turning heavy, and said, "The sudden change in my family situation was unavoidable. My father is sick, and my younger brother has run into some trouble. We urgently need money. My meager salary is just a drop in the bucket, so I had to quit my job and come to Shenzhen to make a living. I never expected to be unable to find a job, with no relatives or friends around. I almost ended up homeless during the Chinese New Year."
"This is just too tragic!" Kevin raised his glass and said, "May God be with you, cheers!"
The two clinked glasses. Du Guoying looked quite melancholy. He wasn't faking it. Since resigning, he had started several businesses, some profitable and some not. After two years, he was penniless. It was a miserable situation!
"Mr. Kevin, thank you so much for your help." Du Guoying looked at him sincerely and said, "Thank you!"
“You haven’t told me how I can help you. Even if I don’t leave now, he won’t want you. Ultimately, getting into a company depends on your abilities,” Kevin said worriedly.
