"You always manage to surprise me! Let's go!"
The elevator arrived, and Lu Feng entered with Du Guoying while talking. Kevin, standing to the side, was dumbfounded and said to Lu Feng, "Didn't you just say you had some shame?"
"Have any shame? What kind of shame do you have? Hurry up and get on the elevator. You're a grown man, and you're not even as clever as him. You think you can make it on the international stage?" Lu Feng pressed the elevator button and said, "Hurry up and get on!"
"I do things the legitimate way, and it's embarrassing to be caught lying like this," Kevin muttered as he got into the elevator.
“That’s called a white lie, you know?” Lu Feng said to him.
"What kind of white lie is that? It's still lying!" Kevin said, quite annoyed.
“Let me tell you what a lie is, and what a white lie is. If I lied to her about cooperating and ended up losing money, that’s a lie. If I lied to her about cooperating with me and made money, that’s a white lie, understand?” Lu Feng said to him, “If I lied to you tomorrow and said I’d help you make hundreds of millions, would you blame me for lying to you?”
"I...I despise you in my heart!" Kevin couldn't hold back any longer and blurted out this sentence.
Du Guoying was very clever. During this time, he had found out everything that was going on in the group. He whispered to Kevin, "Don't say anything. Our whole group is a white lie!"
On the way back, Lu Feng chatted with Du Guoying and initially determined that Elmi had very clear ideas about the company's positioning, such as cooperating with large groups to survive, and the most important goal this year was to get Nokia phones registered on the network and open up the mainland market.
These ideas were very firm and unlikely to be her own; they were probably told to her by her father. Based on her experience, this person did not have the ability to independently manage the regional head of a multinational corporation.
Moreover, she is rather naive in some matters and easily believes what others say, which makes everything easier.
When Elmi returned home, she felt uneasy thinking about the chaos at the dinner party that evening. Her father told her that she only needed to remember one thing: if Nokia joined the mainland telephone network, she would have succeeded and could be transferred back to headquarters after achieving merit.
Cooperation with Jiafeng Electronics had never crossed her mind, but with so many companies involved, how to cultivate relationships and get them all on the network was a real hassle.
Elmi was a little unsure, so she called home anyway.
Over the phone, she recounted the situation that evening, describing how chaotic the telecommunications market in mainland China was, resembling a fierce battle among five rivals.
“Elmi, you still need to get closer to Ericsson, especially by appearing more in the media. We really don’t have much money to spend on advertising right now, but we need the local leaders to know our strength. Otherwise, when it comes time to issue network access licenses, why would they issue one to a small company like you?”
“Dad, I know, but I really have no clue what to do right now. Tonight, Ericsson and the other companies said that if we want to stand with them, we need to help them make a difference in the market, but we have nothing here!” Emil said helplessly.
Nokia currently only has one branch and a few offices in mainland China, and it doesn't produce any products there because its main product is mobile phones, but they won't grant it a network access license here!
"I know this is a very difficult thing, but because it's difficult, it will feel different when you succeed. Try to negotiate with all parties involved, and don't give up on Jiafeng Electronics. Nobody knows where the hope is, so there is hope everywhere. If they need cooperation, then let them cooperate. Anyway, we have nothing." The voice on the other end of the phone encouraged.
"I understand. It's getting late, I should rest."
"Goodnight, baby. Daddy believes you're the best."
"Thanks!"
Lu Feng returned to his residence at midnight. After a quick wash, he lay in bed, looked at Elmi's business card for a moment, and then made the call.
The phone rang a few times before the person on the other end answered, "Who is this?"
"It's me, Lu Feng from Jiafeng Electronics!" Lu Feng sighed into the phone, sounding quite worried. "You're still not resting? He told you about what happened to me, I'm so sorry!"
“It’s okay, I won’t tell anyone. If you feel uncomfortable, I can forget about it,” Elmi said hurriedly.
"No, it's just that I was afraid of disturbing your mood. Everything else is fine." Lu Feng sat up and looked at the starry sky outside the window, sighing, "The first time I saw you, I was really envious of you because I could see that you were very happy, while I am different. My life is a tragic world!"
