Elmi was even happier. She felt that even Jiang Ziya would have to admit defeat in front of her. She didn't even have a fishing rod, yet the fish had taken the bait.
"Don't say that. Actually, I think you're pretty good too. Maybe we can try to get to know each other!" Elmi said with a laugh, and the telephone operator's silvery laughter was quite suggestive.
"Really? Shall I come to you now?" Lu Feng sat up straight. He was already a little sleepy. The call had been going on for too long. He asked into the phone, "Are you home alone? Give me your address, I'll be downstairs right away."
"Um...it's too late, I'm going to take a shower. You should get some rest too. See you tomorrow, goodnight, bye!" Elmi said and quickly hung up the phone.
Lu Feng breathed a sigh of relief, put down the phone, turned off the light, and went to sleep.
The next day, Lu Feng didn't wake up until after 8 a.m. After a quick wash, breakfast was brought over, and he turned on the TV to watch the local news.
"Welcome back. This is Good Morning Shenzhen. Under the strong leadership of the city leaders, we are opening up a new chapter for the city and creating a new atmosphere. In order to keep pace with the development of global communications, the Global Communications High-end Forum will officially open today. This high-end forum will be attended by many global communications companies, including emerging domestic companies such as Jiafeng Electronics and Bird."
Lu Feng looked at the news. The forum was scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m. He didn't really want to go because there wasn't much to do in the morning; it would just be a bunch of leaders giving speeches and him sitting down and clapping.
There was a knock on the office door. Lu Feng said, "Come in." Du Guoying pushed the door open and walked in. Today, he was dressed in a suit and tie, looking exceptionally handsome, and he was holding a pager in his hand.
Seeing Lu Feng sitting there eating without tidying up at all, Du Guoying asked, "Mr. Lu, why haven't you changed your clothes yet? Today is the opening day of the forum!"
"I just woke up, the blankets inside haven't been made yet," Lu Feng said after finishing the last bite.
"Hurry up and change your clothes, I'll fold the blankets for you," Du Guoying volunteered.
"Stop, stop, stop!" Lu Feng stood up and said irritably, "What are you doing, a grown man, crawling into my bedroom?"
“Mr. Lu, it’s not right for you to live in your office. Why don’t you buy a villa? This is too shabby,” Du Guoying suggested.
"I have a villa, I just don't want to go back." Lu Feng stood up and went into the bedroom, then suddenly remembered that he hadn't called Elmi yet. This was clearly not the behavior of a sycophant!
"By the way, the situation has changed. Go do something now: find some reporters to follow me and take pictures, understand?" Lu Feng said to him, "Focus on taking pictures of me and Elmi. Go do it now. By the time you're done, I'll be almost done too."
Du Guoying was completely bewildered that things had changed so drastically overnight.
However, he didn't ask any questions, just grunted in response and turned away to get to work.
Lu Feng picked up the phone on the bedside table and called Elmi. The phone rang several times before the other end answered. The voice sounded lazy, as if the person was still in bed.
Who is it?
"It's me, Lu Feng. What time did you finish showering last night? I was planning to call you after you finished, but I fell asleep with the phone in my hand." Lu Feng said somewhat shyly, "Aren't you up yet?"
"I'm getting up soon. I need to get ready and get dressed for the event. What time are you going?" Elmi asked casually.
"When are you arriving? Where should we meet?" Lu Feng asked, sounding quite excited.
"It'll be in the parking lot at the main entrance of the venue. I'm driving a red Mercedes sports car," Elmi said.
"Okay, what time?"
"It's almost nine o'clock now, I need to get up quickly, get ready, and put on some makeup, it should be around ten o'clock!"
“It’s okay if you’re late. I know the deputy mayor here. Just say hello to him, and don’t worry, he won’t dare to utter a word,” Lu Feng said, trying his best to impress.
"You're so nice to me. I'm not talking to you anymore, I'm going to take a shower."
"Going to take a bath again?" Lu Feng chuckled and said, "To get a nice, fragrant bath."
Elmi didn't say anything and hung up the phone directly. She was all too familiar with how to string these kinds of men along. Being too enthusiastic with them would be a bad thing; instead, she needed to show her aloofness.
