Chapter 848 Meaning

The group acted quickly, taking advantage of the chaos to register and leave. It was already past 1 p.m., and the sun was blazing. They found a Western restaurant, sat down, and prepared to have a simple meal.

After ordering, Wang Yuanhe and the other two sat there looking somewhat awkward. He kept glancing at Lu Feng as if he wanted to say something.

“Speak your mind. Our company is different from other companies; we don’t have such a strict superior-subordinate relationship. I’m a young man too, so just say what you want to say,” Lu Feng said to Wang Yuanhe.

An Jiahui spoke shyly first, "I think you were amazing today. We were scolded and kicked out this morning, and I thought you would have a similar result, but it turned out to be completely different from ours."

"I want to apologize to you." Wang Yuanhe looked at Lu Feng somewhat embarrassedly and said, "When you said that this morning, I was actually quite unhappy."

Lu Feng laughed and said, "Do you think I'm just talking without understanding the situation? I've worked before, so I know how it feels. But when you encounter problems, you have to find solutions. The more responsibilities you can take on, the smoother you'll be in the workplace. Strength overcomes everything!"

Liu Yilong spoke up from the side, "President Lu, what are we going to do after we've written down these people's information?"

"Later, we'll set up some kind of anti-discrimination association or charity fund, and then register a research and development company here," Lu Feng said in a deep voice.

After thinking for a moment, Feng Zhiyao looked at Lu Feng with shining eyes. He guessed that only Brother Feng could come up with such a method. He said, "Brother Feng, your move is really brilliant. It's reverse investment. Everyone else gets investment from over there, but you're investing in the United States."

Lu Feng looked at the people at the table, lit a cigarette, and, feigning seriousness, pinched the cigarette between two fingers and said, "Tell me, what's the most valuable thing these days?"

Some say it's about technology, some say it's about the market, and some say it's about marketing.

"That's not right. Talent is the most important thing now. Money isn't important. Is money even a problem?" Lu Feng leaned back in his chair and said, "For me, money is not important at all. You may not have been with the company for long. Ask Zhiyao. I'm not short of money."

Seeing that he wanted to show off to these new employees, Feng Zhiyao said, "You don't know President Lu. He's really not short of money. If he wants to, billions are nothing to him."

A few billion is nothing?

Wang Yuanhe, An Jiahui, and Liu Yilong had never heard of such a large number at the dinner tables they frequented. An Jiahui, the young girl, was so shocked that her mouth was agape.

They know the company is big, but even the biggest company can't be considered a small matter if it has billions of dollars.

Lu Feng took a drag of his cigarette, raised his hand to press it down, and said, "That's a bit arrogant. A few billion isn't a small amount, but it's about average."

These words seemed to make everyone feel that he had become even more arrogant.

Once the food was served, Lu Feng told Wang Yuanhe to hurry up and contact other universities, at least to find out where their main gates were and which schools had the most students.

They were also asked to find an agency to help them register the company, as they wanted to settle down in New York.

It was already past 2 PM after lunch. Lu Feng was so sleepy that he kept yawning, so he simply went back to sleep. Before going to sleep, he instructed his subordinates to call Liu Cheng when it was daytime in China, and to place all the R&D sites and talent recruitment around the world under the R&D company.

At 3 p.m., Lu Feng couldn't take it anymore, so he took a shower and went to bed.

Sun Hung Kai's team contacted Goldman Sachs and informed them of their schedules. Eisen looked at the folder in his hand, raised an eyebrow, and said to the secretary standing opposite him, "Notify the people from Jiafeng Electronics to meet tomorrow. Also, call over the heads of the companies that were shortlisted a few days ago, and meet them all together!"

"Okay!" The secretary came out carrying the folder.

As night falls over this most modern city in the world, unlike back home, the city lights come on, and it's no different from China twenty years later. The prosperity has always been there; it's just that we've caught up step by step.

As night fell in the United States and the sun rose in the east, Su Yourong was holding a morning meeting, discussing matters related to contacting companies such as Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers.

In Europe, a three-person team was sent out and was struggling in the City of London. They were unfamiliar with the area, and although every door they opened was occupied by a large financial company, they had come all day without any results, only to be turned away.

Around 3 p.m., team leader Zhang Lin sat by the roadside, while the other two looked equally frustrated.

"We just keep going there, but they completely ignore us. We're like salespeople now, and their leaders won't even see us."

"Yeah, call the company. They said they'll only give us a week, so let's hope nothing goes wrong."

"This is so annoying. I can't get anything done anyway. It's already this late. How about we go to the square to feed the pigeons?"

The three men were whispering amongst themselves, discussing whether to call the company and how to say it, when a man with a Chinese face approached them. He looked to be in his forties and asked, "You're from China, right?"

"Huh?" Zhang Lin looked up and saw the man. Meeting someone who spoke Mandarin abroad felt like meeting a relative. Zhang Lin quickly stood up and said, "Yes, we just arrived a couple of days ago."

"Why did you come here to have fun? This is the financial district, full of companies, there's nothing fun here." The man seemed to want to help them, and said, "Take a taxi and head north..."

"No, we're here to find a financial company," Zhang Lin explained briefly.

"Wow, there are such strong private enterprises in China now? You're lucky to have met me." The man smiled and said, "I work for a financial company."
