Chapter 849 Humiliation

The clerk didn't care at all when she heard this. She tossed her hair and said to the Thai man, "That's just how it is here. Don't put on airs with your status as a millionaire. Let me tell you, this street is full of rich people. If you're uncomfortable, you can leave."

The Thai man was so angry his eyes turned green, but in the end he could only utter a few words and sit down.

Seeing that he had intimidated the others, they dared not say anything more. As for the few who couldn't stand the insults, they had already left. It could be said that this hour of waiting had allowed them to initially filter out the candidates they wanted.

Feng Zhiyao sat down next to Lu Feng and said in a low voice, "No wonder Uncle Kun told us to bear with it. If Uncle Kun hadn't said anything, I would have left long ago. These guys think they're so great just because they have a little money, like nobody cares about a little bit of money."

Lu Feng turned his head slightly to look at Feng Zhiyao and said in a low voice, "If I'm not mistaken, who among these people isn't one of the most powerful in their country? Do you really think they're short of money?"

"Isn't everyone here looking for funding? They don't lack money, so what do they lack?" Feng Zhiyao wondered.

"They lack backing! Let me tell you, these people all want to expand their business internationally. What does international mean? The United States is international, understand?"

While Lu Feng was talking to Feng Zhiyao, two more clerks walked in and asked everyone to stand up and line up, saying that Eisen would be there soon.

These wealthy individuals, who wield immense influence in various countries, are now behaving like obedient kindergarten children. They are all seething with anger, but reason tells them they must endure it.

Lu Feng stood next to the Thai man, whose skin was somewhat dark and whose expression was very aggrieved, but he still stood there.

"What do you do?" Lu Feng asked in a low voice.

The older man looked up at Lu Feng and said, "Rubber and chemical industries, what about you?"

"Nice to meet you. I work in electronics, I'm from China, Lu Feng from Jiafeng Electronics." Lu Feng gave a brief introduction.

“Sompa-Saipan, a Thai.” He sighed and said, “If it weren’t for wanting to do international business, would I have to put up with this? It’s utterly insulting.”

"Does the international market need financing here?" Lu Feng asked.

“No, we’ve always been doing international trade, it’s just expanded in the last two years. But because of some messy terms, several ships have been seized. These bastards are like that, they see you’ve grown big and they want to squeeze money out of you, using international law and violations of sanctions to mess with you.” Sompa became more and more angry as he spoke.

Lu Feng could tell that this guy was definitely a big shot back home, but unfortunately he couldn't be as big as him here.

Before I could ask anything more, someone walked in through the door. It was a man in his forties with yellow skin, wearing black-rimmed glasses, and with a rather arrogant expression.

"Let me introduce you all. This is Mr. Eisen, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs Investments. Mr. Eisen is a bit short on time, only having one hour. He hopes everyone will mainly introduce their company's main development prospects, development model, and market share." The clerk glanced at everyone and said, "Next, please let Mr. Eisen speak with you."

Eisen glanced at the faces of these people, his gaze settling on Lu Feng. He gave a cold snort and slowly began to speak: "First of all, welcome to everyone here. You are all outstanding individuals from emerging companies around the world. But I still want to say something to you."

"There are hundreds of investment firms on Wall Street that invest in no fewer than 500 companies globally each year. Of those 500 companies, how many will survive? I'll tell you, half of them will go bankrupt within a year, and within five years, less than ten will remain. But these ten will grow into large, globally renowned companies."

"With such a low success rate, we need to ensure that our money is not misused. According to our investment method, firstly, after accepting the investment, all production materials need to be handed over. Of course, these production materials will be strictly kept and will not be arbitrarily moved."

"Secondly, we need to relocate our headquarters to the United States. This is so that we can make the most of our resources for you, and we can communicate more quickly if there are any problems. Thirdly, we need to hold no less than 30% of the shares. Of course, we will not interfere with the management of your company; you will still manage it yourself. These three points are the most basic. Is there anyone who cannot accept them?"

Half of the people in the row left, grumbling and cursing.

Feng Zhiyao said in a low voice, "Isn't this blatant robbery?"

“Yeah, it’s blatant robbery, what can you do about it?” Lu Feng said in a low voice, “Can’t you see we’ve walked into a wolf’s den?”

Eisen had been watching Lu Feng closely. Seeing him talking quietly with Feng Zhiyao, he coughed and said, "You two, do you have so much to say? Don't you know how to respect people? Don't think that just because you're rich, you can be proud of yourselves here. Let me tell you, you are nothing!"

Instead of meeting Lambert, they were met with some lousy general manager. These people were already seething with anger, and now they were being scolded like schoolchildren. Feng Zhiyao couldn't hold back any longer.

They're here to raise funds, not to be mistreated.

Feng Zhiyao stared at Aisen, his eyes filled with anger, and said in a deep voice, "Can't you speak? We're here to raise funds, not to be lectured."

"This is the rule for those seeking funding. If you can't handle it, you can leave." Eisen picked up the folder in his hand, pointed to the door, and said, "The door is always open to you."

"You think I want to stay here? What the hell are you so arrogant about, you lousy manager? Let me tell you, if you were in my company, I would have smashed your head in." Feng Zhiyao seemed a little agitated.
