An hour later, the bodyguard team returned. Kevin gave instructions on what he was doing and arranged a restaurant with Da Gui. At 6:30 p.m., three cars stopped at the hotel lobby entrance, and Lu Feng walked out under the escort of the bodyguards.
From the jeep parked by the roadside, the tall man said in a deep voice, "Get out!"
The doors of two jeeps were pushed open, and seven or eight people got out and rushed towards the entrance. The bodyguards on guard duty noticed something was wrong and shouted, "Danger! Retreat!"
"Bang!"
A gunshot shattered the peaceful dusk, followed by a barrage of shots.
Kevin was standing behind Lu Feng. Before he could even leave the hotel, he suddenly panicked and fell backward, tumbling and crawling towards the hotel lobby. The receptionist was so frightened that she crouched down and hid under the counter.
Lu Feng was surrounded by four bodyguards who protected him from all four directions. When the gunshot rang out, the four men instantly pinned him to the ground, where he was blocked by a car parked at the entrance!
All of them used extended magazines, and the gunfire was as dense as firecrackers during the Lunar New Year. All the windows on the three vehicles were shattered, and the vehicles were in a state of complete destruction.
Lu Feng was forcibly dragged into the hotel. After a moment of panic, the local Thai bodyguards quickly drew their pistols to fight back, but unfortunately, the other party did not chase after them and instead stood outside the hotel door.
After emptying a magazine, the tall man shouted "Retreat!" and led his men away without looking back.
The scene was in complete chaos. The armed bodyguards breathed a sigh of relief when they saw the other side retreat. After all, they were there to make money, not to risk their lives.
Lu Feng was dragged into the hotel corridor. As the gunfire outside subsided, he stood there, his face ashen. He was genuinely terrified, having never experienced a gunfight in either of his two lifetimes. Yet, he was also filled with rage. Such blatant gunfire was like defecating on someone's head.
Perhaps this is the real international business war!
A few minutes later, police sirens sounded outside, and only after the police rushed in to secure the scene were Lu Feng's bodyguards allowed him to move around freely.
Police tape was put up outside the hotel. Zhalun stood there fully armed, his face as cold as frost. This was definitely the worst thing that had happened since he took charge of this area.
"Mr. Lu, are you alright?" Zhalun asked hurriedly when he saw Lu Feng.
"I'm fine. Are any of the bodyguards injured?" Lu Feng asked, looking outside.
“There are indeed people injured. The ambulance will be here soon. One of them was shot seven times and his life is in danger.” Zhalun said in a somewhat somber mood, “These people have been really arrogant lately. If you really can’t handle it, you should lay low for a while.”
Lu Feng looked around and saw Kevin standing to the side, his face pale. He shouted sternly, "Notify the hospital. Make sure they bring him back to life. Do a good job of the follow-up work. Notify the bodyguard company in China and report the current situation."
"I...I'll go right now." Kevin seemed a little flustered.
“I don’t need to leave. If they want to play, then we’ll play along. If we’re going to do business globally, what’s the point of doing anything if there’s gunfights in one country today and artillery battles in another tomorrow? We will never bow down to anyone.” Lu Feng asked Zhalun, “Can we arrest these people today?”
"I just checked the surveillance footage, and it's the same people from that day." Zhalun didn't say much; everything was clear—they had powerful backers. However, he still assured Lu Feng, "Don't worry, as long as you're here, I'll do my best to ensure your safety. From now on, I'll assign police officers to protect you closely. If all else fails, I'll protect you!"
"Thank you!" Lu Feng said to him, "Let's deal with the current situation first."
Over an hour later, the two injured bodyguards were carried onto an ambulance. Both men were from a domestic bodyguard company and were responsible for perimeter security. One of them had been shot seven times and died on the way to the hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
This was definitely the most intense confrontation Lu Feng had ever experienced. They used every means to make Lu Feng leave and admit defeat, but the more they tried, the less Lu Feng would leave.
After Kevin finished everything, he said to Lu Feng, "Mr. Lu, let's stay away. It's too dangerous. Bullets don't discriminate."
“Never back down! An old man once said that the more the enemy opposes something, the more we should do it. The more fiercely they oppose it, the more they fear us doing it.” Lu Feng checked the time; it was almost 8 p.m. He said, “I have an appointment with Da Gui; I have to go meet him.”
"The current situation is not suitable for going out!"
"What are you doing?" Zhalun asked hurriedly when he noticed Lu Feng was about to leave.
"I made an appointment to have dinner with a friend, and it's already almost an hour late. It's not too late to go now." Lu Feng said to Zhalun, "I need to give a statement later. I'll cooperate when I get back."
"You can't go out now, what if something happens?" Zhalun asked anxiously.
"It's alright, I'll bring a few bodyguards," Lu Feng said firmly.
“If all else fails, I’ll go with you. They can handle things here.” Zhalun looked at the scene. At first, he was worried about the media and the need to explain things to the outside world, but now it seemed that all the media had been silenced.
Lu Feng couldn't refuse, but he felt uneasy about meeting Zhalun. Besides, it just didn't feel right to bring a police chief to meet a gang leader.
The three cars sped away under the red light. Zhalun sat next to Lu Feng, patted Lu Feng's shoulder and said, "Don't worry, I'll protect you!"
“Director Zhalun, such a big thing has happened. As a leader, it’s not appropriate for you to leave the scene.” Lu Feng said, taking his hand away. Some things are better left unsaid. “Besides, I’m already married and have a child.”
