"ah?"
Sirami was dumbfounded; where would she get the money to pay back?
"They agreed to lend it for six months, but it's only been two months and they want the money back? Where am I supposed to get the money?" Sirami was already panicking.
"You've already hooked up with such a rich CEO, what's a little money to you? The dance hall can settle a lot for you."
"Thank you, sister!" Sirami was extremely anxious. After hanging up the phone, she first called the phone booth in the village, but no one answered. She could only pack her things first.
As she tidied up, she secretly prayed that Lu Feng could help her, but she felt guilty thinking about what happened last night.
By the time they finished tidying up, it was already past six in the morning, and neither Lu Feng nor Kevin had woken up.
She waited until after 7 o'clock, but she couldn't wait any longer and had to knock on Lu Feng's door. The doorbell rang several times, and Xilami stood at the door nervously clenching her hands. She didn't know how to face Lu Feng.
After a long while, the room door opened, and Lu Feng, still sleepy-eyed, looked at Sirami and frowned, saying, "What's going on so early in the morning... I'll wake the translator first."
After the translator woke him up, Lu Feng learned what had happened and could only sigh, "Misfortune always seems to strike when the rope is at its weakest point; it's like asking the unfortunate for a chance to escape." Borrowing money from people in society to pay for medical treatment is essentially asking the King of Hell for his life.
"I...I was wondering if I could borrow some money from you? I promise I'll pay it back." At this moment, Sirami was completely distraught. She had calculated all the money she could get her hands on, and looking at Lu Feng, she abandoned all pride and said, "I'll pay you back. If you need anything, I can even keep you company!"
The room was silent. After the translator finished speaking, everyone fell silent; no one wanted to watch this scene.
“Go back first. I will help you as much as I can!” Lu Feng took a deep breath and said, “I just hope you have thought it through. For many people, no matter what choices they make, fate will not let them go. Sometimes it is the suffering of the rich, and sometimes it is the suffering of the poor.”
Sirami didn't understand what he meant, but when he heard that Lu Feng was willing to help, he made a move to kneel on the ground.
"Is your home far from here?" Lu Feng asked.
“It takes a little over an hour by car, and more than four hours by public transport. There’s no direct route,” Sirami replied.
"Then there's no rush, let's have breakfast first," Lu Feng told her not to be in such a hurry.
Last night, Sirami ran out of the private room, leaving Maha dumbfounded. He never dreamed that a woman in this world would reject him.
He wasn't stupid; he understood perfectly well what Lu Feng meant by bringing Sirami along, but this was the first time he'd encountered such a situation.
A prince pursuing Cinderella isn't necessarily out of love; he might just be someone he's never seen before. The itch of wanting to accept but not wanting to accept is the most unbearable.
Maha didn't sleep well all night, and even after waking up, he was still thinking about it. It was like having a cake in his mouth but not being able to eat it, and he kept wondering what the cake would taste like.
Before eight o'clock in the morning, a phone call came to Lu Feng.
When Kevin told Lu Feng about the phone call, Lu Feng was also surprised, then chuckled and said, "The legendary story: she slapped the domineering CEO, and the CEO covered his face and said, 'This girl has quite the personality, doesn't she?'"
"Mr. Lu, what are you saying?" Kevin asked, puzzled.
"It's nothing, I just didn't expect such a scene to happen in real life. Isn't this a chance for a hero to save the damsel in distress?" Lu Feng smiled and walked towards the phone.
"I am Lu Feng, good morning, Your Highness!" Lu Feng greeted politely.
"Is the girl from last night alright?" the person on the other end of the phone asked.
"I'm so sorry, she's too young and doesn't know any better. She upset you, so I gave her a good talking-to when I got back. It's just a pity she doesn't appreciate your kindness. This morning, I got news from my hometown that something terrible happened, and I'm preparing to leave soon." Lu Feng pondered for a moment and said, "Don't worry, I have a few good sisters. I'll introduce them to you then."
"No need, what happened to that girl?" the person on the other end of the phone asked with concern.
As Lu Feng listened to the concern in the phone call, a smile unconsciously appeared on his face. It seemed that this was the inevitability of history; Sirami's fate had long been predetermined and could not be changed.
