Lu Feng chuckled at her little look, put his arm around her neck, and gave her a peck on the lips, saying, "My wife is so good at managing a household, just like me!"
"Go to hell, go to sleep."
The next morning, after Lu Feng ate breakfast and washed his face, he looked up at himself in the mirror. Compared to half a year ago, he was slightly fatter and much more energetic. Although the changes were very subtle, it was as if he had become a different person, more like the original Lu Feng.
"I will gradually live out my own life!"
Lu Feng offered a different interpretation of that statement.
At the factory, today was the last day to pay wages, and everyone's face was filled with joy as they greeted each other. As Lu Feng entered the factory, he was greeted by a constant stream of greetings.
Upon entering Gao Zhiyong's office, he waved to him and said, "Call all the people from the last meeting to my office."
"Mr. Lu, let's go to the conference room for a meeting."
"No meetings, just give out red envelopes!"
"Great!" Gao Zhiwei, a man in his thirties, jumped up with joy and headed straight for the finance office. Soon, the office was packed with people.
"Wishing everyone a happy Year of the Horse in advance, may all horses gallop freely!" Lu Feng said, pulling out a stack of red envelopes from his pocket and handing one to each person.
"Thank you, Mr. Lu!"
"Work is suspended today, right?" Lu Feng asked Han Dong.
"Yes, the production work was actually completed yesterday. Today is mainly for cleaning and such," Han Dong replied.
"The warehouse is already full of goods. We expect to be able to supply goods for several days even if we don't have enough staff for the first wave next year."
Lu Feng nodded and looked at Da Tou, saying, "Da Tou, pay the workers their wages as soon as possible. Also, our factory is now standardized. Starting next year, we'll start making work uniforms and name tags for the workers. Let's make it more professional. I mentioned at the last meeting who's on duty."
"I'm on duty!" Liu Yongzheng raised his hand.
“We’ll pay triple wages to those on duty, let’s follow the labor law!” Lu Feng said.
Upon hearing this, the others were stunned. Many people chimed in, saying that they also lived nearby and could come to work the shift. Lu Feng knew exactly what was going on; they were picking on the weak. He had worked before and knew the situation all too well.
"Everyone, go ahead and get busy. Mr. Gao, please stay here," Lu Feng said, sitting in his executive chair.
Gao Zhiwei looked at Lu Feng and felt that something was wrong. Han Dong stood there and looked at Da Tou. He noticed that since Gao Zhiwei came, he no longer talked to him and Da Tou about anything and they had become somewhat distant.
Lu Feng looked up and saw Han Dong looking at Da Tou, while Da Tou looked at Han Dong; the two were staring at each other.
"Is there something going on between you two? Or do you have a grudge?" Lu Feng asked, puzzled.
“Brother Feng, our factory is so big now. You used to tell us everything. It’s not that General Manager Gao is bad, we can also offer some advice. After all, General Manager Gao said that the two of us are comparable to the Crouching Dragon and the Young Phoenix. If you have one of us, you can build a factory. You have both of us, so you can open a branch factory.” Han Dong said, patting his chest.
Lu Feng felt a headache coming on when he heard this. He glanced at Gao Zhiwei furtively and whispered, "Aren't you heartless to say that?"
