"You're really interesting!" The young man looked at Lu Feng and smiled, "Are you here in South Africa for fun?"
"On a business trip, what about you?" Lu Feng asked casually.
"I'm going home. Welcome to Africa!" the young man said politely.
The plane had come to a stop, and the flight attendants guided the first-class passengers to leave first. Lu Feng stood up and walked outside, looking at the black man next to him. Judging from his clothes and appearance, he didn't look like an ordinary person.
"What does your family do?" Lu Feng asked.
The young man looked at Lu Feng with surprise. It was presumptuous to ask someone's profession and income abroad. He sized Lu Feng up and replied, "I work in a mine!"
"I knew it! You have that 'mineral and rough' vibe about you!" Lu Feng joked.
"Hahahaha!" The young man couldn't help but laugh. It was the first time he had ever heard such a word. The two of them hadn't really talked much on the way, but he didn't expect to find such an interesting person when he got off the plane.
“I own a company. This is my first time in South Africa, and I don’t know anyone here. Would you like to leave me your business card?” Lu Feng took out his business card from his pocket and handed it over.
"Just call me, here's the number." The young man took the business card, glanced at it, and exclaimed in surprise, "From China?"
"right!"
"Cool!" He gestured with both hands and said, "Bruce Lee, kung fu!"
Hahahaha!
Lu Feng smiled as he stepped off the plane. The young man, Ronald, was thirty-one years old. From their conversation, it was clear he wasn't the son of an ordinary mine owner.
Lu Feng had just arrived in South Africa and wasn't very familiar with the area yet. Having more friends meant having more options, and he might need them someday.
Outside the airport, the people from Richman Security Company had arrived yesterday, and the overseas business team had also arrived, with hotels and transportation arranged.
After saying goodbye to Ronald, Lu Feng walked out of the airport and saw the captain and his group again. He said, "We meet again!"
"Hello, Mr. Lu!" the captain said with a smile.
"Hello, Mr. Lu, I am the deputy general manager of the overseas business department. My name is Han Guoping!" A man in his forties introduced himself to Lu Feng.
He was about 1.7 meters tall, spoke with a slight southern accent, was slightly balding, and wore frameless glasses, giving him the greasy look of a middle-aged professional man.
"You arrived yesterday, right?" Lu Feng asked.
“Yes, we’ve done a lot of work beforehand. Please get in the car, and we’ll talk on the way.” Han Guoping gestured for him to get in.
Cape Town, South Africa's second-largest city and an important international city, is hardly associated with poverty. It is full of smooth asphalt roads and high-rise buildings. South Africa is an important global center for diamonds and mining, and many rare metals are mined here.
South Africa’s decline began in the late 1990s, but even more than two decades later, it remains the economic engine of Africa.
South Korean President Pyongyang briefly explained the ins and outs of the incident. He said it was easy to investigate; they were openly targeting him, and a little inquiry with some international figures would make it clear.
"There are many people behind this, including pressure from the United States. It is no longer a simple business matter, but involves national competition. What we understand now is that Motorola, Sony, and Panasonic have stood with Intel and AMD in the United States. The two sides are competitors, but they have chosen to suppress us."
Han Guoping sighed, with a hint of helplessness, and said, "They really think highly of us. According to some rumors, these companies have close ties with Wall Street. I heard that they reported through Wall Street and pushed some departments in the United States to put pressure on us. Some people say that they were searching for our industries all over the world like mad dogs a while ago, and finally chose Africa."
“Last night we had some communication with the three local companies we cooperate with. The result is that business is not possible. The most important thing now is how to protect the most recent batch of goods and clarify the issue of patent infringement. My suggestion is to file a lawsuit locally to protect our rights.”
After briefly explaining the situation, Lu Feng's expression turned grim. This matter was no longer as easy to handle as before; it was a done deal, and the business was definitely off.
"Damn it!!"
Lu Feng cursed angrily.
The other people in the van remained silent, creating a very oppressive atmosphere. Lu Feng knew in his heart that the easy part of the journey had already been completed, and the most difficult part had only just begun. This part of the journey was far beyond the power of a reborn individual to contend with.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Lu Feng checked in first. Next, he was going to meet with the head of the South African foreign affairs department, and he would need to hear about the relevant information from them.
At 3 p.m., a phone call came into Lu Feng's hotel. A few minutes later, Han Guoping knocked on Lu Feng's door, walked in, and said, "Someone from the embassy wants to speak with you."
"Turn around! What's the other person's last name?"
"His surname is Xu!"
The call was transferred to Lu Feng, who answered, "Ambassador Xu, hello, this is Lu Feng from Jiafeng Electronics Group."
"Hello, Mr. Lu. First of all, welcome to South Africa. I feel sorry for you because of this unexpected incident. But what's done is done, and we can only try to resolve it. Have you checked into your hotel yet?" The voice on the other end of the phone was quite amiable.
"Yes, you've worked hard and still have to worry about my affairs."
“As the ambassador stationed there, I am here to serve you. The current situation may be a bit complicated, and it is not convenient to talk about it over the phone. Please come over.”
