The two had a particularly enjoyable conversation about finance, especially regarding the currencies and finance of various countries. They discovered that many countries and regions had their currencies strongly pegged to the US dollar, and coupled with the lack of monetary autonomy, there were many loopholes that could be exploited.
Of course, shorting a country could trigger an international incident, so they only talk about it; they would never dare to actually do such a thing.
Soros has recently discussed this matter with many people and is preparing to report it to the relevant departments. They can use it as a countermeasure. If they can get him to take action, that would be the best outcome.
After a flight of more than ten hours, Lu Feng took a short nap on the plane. When they landed at Hong Kong Airport, it was exactly 9:30 in the morning.
The sun was shining brightly outside, and there was a slight chill in the air. After leaving the airport, we took a car directly to the hotel.
“It’s almost December, you should go back tomorrow. The first board meeting needs to be taken seriously, after all, they still haven’t given us 3 billion US dollars.” Lu Feng instructed Han Guoping from his seat, “Tell President Wei that I don’t care, but the main thing is that the people from Schroder Investment Group, no matter who comes, should be given a high-level reception…”
Before Lu Feng could finish speaking, he glanced casually out the car window, then suddenly froze, and said to the driver, "Slow down, what's going on outside?"
"Someone's putting up banners; they've been making a fuss since this morning," the driver replied.
"Isn't this the United Capital building?" Lu Feng looked at the banners outside and the crowd of onlookers, and it seemed like something big had happened. He hurriedly said, "Pull the car over."
After the car pulled over, Lu Feng could see the words on the banner clearly: "Su Yourong, the venomous woman and CEO of United Capital, cheated me out of hundreds of millions of shares and kicked me out of the board of directors!"
Many of the banners contained insults and even smears, claiming that Su Yourong had slept with most of the old men in Hong Kong's financial circle, including Mr. Fung of Sun Hung Kai Properties.
Although the banner didn't specify who had been scammed, Lu Feng could basically guess it was Li Zaiyan.
After getting out of the car, Lu Feng went over to take a look. All the security guards had been mobilized to maintain order. A man in his sixties or seventies was pushing and shoving the security guards, cursing incessantly.
"Why won't you let me in? Are you blind? I went in yesterday! Who do you think you are? Let Su Yourong out!"
"Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering. Please leave immediately!"
Li Zaiyan's face turned purple with rage, and he roared, "I'm not leaving, what can you do to me? I'm telling you, get out of my way!"
"If you don't leave, then we'll have to carry you away."
No sooner had he finished speaking than four or five people rushed up, shoving and hitting him. In the chaos, they grabbed Li Zaiyan by the hands and feet and lifted him up. The others took the opportunity to take down all the banners and waved to the onlookers, saying, "Stop looking! What's there to see? Let's go! Let's go!"
Li Zaiyan was left on the roadside, lying on the ground wailing and shouting that he wanted to die together with Su Yourong.
Whether it's running a company or doing finance, once it grows big and strong, it's really not easy for the first batch of veterans and founders to leave with dignity.
The business world is never just about competition between companies in the market; internal struggles can be even more ruthless, and the calculations between shareholders are often the most fatal.
After watching for a while, Lu Feng returned to the car and said to the driver, "Let's go!"
The car stopped in front of the hotel. Lu Feng went upstairs and first ordered a table full of food. Then he picked up the phone and called the Feng family.
"Who is this?" The voice on the other end of the phone sounded like a nanny.
"Hello, may I ask if Feng Zhiyao is home?" Lu Feng asked.
"Young Master is not here; he has already gone to the company."
"Okay, give me his office phone number."
Lu Feng got the phone number and dialed it. The person on the other end seemed to be in a bad mood and said impatiently, "Who is it?"
"Zhiyao, it's me! Your brother Feng!" Lu Feng said into the phone, "I've arrived in Hong Kong. Are you free? I'll treat you to lunch."
"Really? That's great! Where are you? I'll be right there." Feng Zhiyao's voice was filled with joy; this was probably one of the few things that had made him happy in a long time.
After telling him the address, Lu Feng hung up the phone. After thinking for a moment, he decided to find out the situation from Feng Zhiyao. He really wanted to know Mr. Feng's health condition so he could plan his next steps.
Inside the office, Feng Zhiyao stood up to go find Lu Feng. Recently, the company was in turmoil, and the power struggle within the board of directors was becoming increasingly fierce. Factions were forming, and people, led by the major shareholder Li Jiazhao, began to take sides, creating a tense atmosphere within the company.
Zhenkun has spoken with Feng Zhiyao several times. He believes that if Feng wants to gain a foothold in the company, he needs support, at least in the board of directors. He hopes Feng will spend more time with the shareholders and demonstrate his abilities and ideas.
However, Feng Zhiyao disdained associating with those old fogies. In addition, sitting down with them was all hypocrisy, which made him very uncomfortable, especially since some of them had grudges against Mr. Feng in the past and were now speaking with veiled barbs.
Because of this incident, Feng Zhiyao and Zhenkun were both somewhat unhappy.
Up to now, Feng Zhiyao felt that Lu Feng was the only one in the world who treated him the best. Everyone around him was trying to make him see the adult world clearly, but only Lu Feng still treated him like a child, saying whatever he wanted and whatever was on his mind.
After going downstairs, Feng Zhiyao drove off in his car. Zhenkun, having learned the news from the security department, sat in his office and sighed deeply, saying helplessly, "What a useless fool! He really is a useless fool!"
