Lu Feng froze for a good ten seconds, that moment felt incredibly long. When he came to his senses, he smiled and said, "Thank you for such a high compliment. Is there anything else you'd like to ask?"
He looked at Lu Feng without saying a word. For a moment just now, he could sense that the man in front of him seemed to have been hit on something, but the words were also perfectly worded.
If he had been right, he should have vehemently refuted it or simply remained silent. However, Lu Feng's response completely shifted the focus of his words to praise.
"I'd like to ask, has the internet really developed that much?"
“The future is certain, but the process of reaching it is rather tortuous. Don’t question the potential of an emerging industry; just participate in it. Judging from your expression, are you planning to invest in this area?” Lu Feng asked, staring at him.
Zhang Chaoyang nodded and briefly introduced his educational background and his vision for the future.
“I think it’s feasible. Search engines are the foundation of the internet and the starting point for everyone to understand the internet. There’s not much difficulty in getting started. The main thing is to accumulate raw data. Do a good job. If you need investment, you can contact me.” Lu Feng took out a business card from his pocket and handed it to him, saying, “This is my office phone number.”
Zhang Chaoyang stared blankly at the business card in his hand, a smile unconsciously spreading across his face. Perhaps he really should do something.
It was already late December, and even the weather in Shanghai was starting to turn cool. Lu Feng sat in the back seat of the car with a rather unpleasant expression. He recalled his reaction just now, and it was terrifying.
What would happen if others knew they came from the future?
Lu Feng dared not think that it would be a reversal of the global landscape. For Lu Feng, at most he could make some money by relying on these precognitive things. If people at a higher level knew about it, Lu Feng would become a strategic resource.
That's right, it's supplies!
It will be more threatening than nuclear weapons, and such a strategic material will become a thorn in the side of global powers.
Thinking of this, Lu Feng's shirt was soaked with sweat. He recalled how he had managed to turn danger into safety every time and how he had always been able to accurately grasp the key moments of policy, the times, and industry.
In addition, he was originally a good-for-nothing who hadn't even graduated from junior high school. These things couldn't withstand investigation by certain special units of the state. Lu Feng had heard before that the state had a research center for abnormal humans, but he didn't know if it was true. Now, Lu Feng felt that he was very likely to get a job, a job of being studied by others.
I was already feeling guilty about this, and the more I thought about it, the more scared I became, until I completely panicked.
"No, I can't show my face in public anymore. I have to hide myself!" Lu Feng muttered to himself.
After the plane landed, Lu Feng returned to the company immediately and convened a board meeting by phone. During the call, he made it clear that from now on, he would no longer hold any position within the board of directors, nor would he officially hold any position in Jiafeng Electronics Group, but he would still be able to serve the company.
The entire board of directors was stunned, not knowing what had happened or why Lu Feng had suddenly abandoned his post.
During the phone call, Lu Feng stated that his shares would be held by someone else on his behalf, that he would no longer appear in public, and that he did not want outside media coverage of him. Apart from this point, everything else remained the same, and he hoped the board of directors would approve it.
John pressed for an answer several times, but Lu Feng couldn't give a proper response. Apart from Sun Hung Kai Properties agreeing, all the other shareholders put the matter on hold, saying they would discuss it after the New Year.
"I can't tell you the specifics, but I really need to do this right now. You can rest assured that I will definitely do well in the European market next year," Lu Feng said into the phone.
"This is too sudden, really. I feel like you're about to leave this company. We need time." John couldn't figure out what Lu Feng was up to. He thought there might be some policy change within China that was making him so scared. If there was nothing wrong, and Lu Feng was just making it seem like he was leaving Jiafeng, he would be overjoyed.
"Okay, I'll give you time!" Lu Feng said into the phone, "I hope we'll have an answer after the New Year."
"Definitely! Wishing you a prosperous Year of the Pig!"
Lu Feng hung up the phone, sat down and let out a long sigh. He had already been working on this for so long, what difference would a month or two make?
"I hope no one is watching me?" Lu Feng said somewhat suspiciously.
When the group's senior management learned that Lu Feng wanted to retire abruptly, they were all stunned. There was a knock on the office door, and Lu Feng straightened his clothes, looked up and said, "Come in."
The office door was pushed open, and Wei Yandan, Zhu Lidong, Du Guoying, Liu Cheng, and a group of others squeezed in, their eyes fixed on Lu Feng with confusion in them.
If Lu Feng leaves Jiafeng, these people will definitely be fine for the company's development in the next year or two. But what about five years later? Ten years later? They have no idea.
If you can't move forward, then face death!
"President Lu, you went to an internet conference, why have you changed so much?" Wei Yandan asked in a low voice, "Why don't you want to quit?"
"You told me just a few days ago that you wanted to build a great company. How come you're going to go and continue to be great in the internet industry?" Zhu Lidong asked, puzzled.
Liu Cheng stared at Lu Feng expectantly. Although he didn't say anything, you could sense his confusion. If Lu Feng left, the backbone of the entire group would be gone. Letting foreign capital in would bring completely different corporate philosophies, management methods, and development directions.
It can be said that these people are 100% compatible with Lu Feng, and the two sides can only exert their greatest strength by cooperating together.
