Chapter 992 Starting from Zero

"Get used to it when you get there, and just do your job well." Lu Feng said politely for a moment and then started eating.

As the plane landed at the transit station, where they would stay overnight before taking off again the next day, Lu Feng suddenly remembered that he needed to find a translator who could speak French, otherwise he wouldn't be able to communicate with Sean.

Lu Feng picked up the phone on the table and dialed: "Hello, is this Mr. Liu?"

"Mr. Lu, what are your instructions?" A deep male voice came from the other end of the phone.

“Here’s the thing, there will be a French consultant over there who doesn’t speak English. Does anyone on our team speak French? Could he be a translator?” Lu Feng said. “Go and ask around. If not, we’ll need to hire one after we land.”

"Okay, I'll get back to you in a bit." Mr. Liu said and hung up the phone.

A dozen minutes later, the phone rang, and Lu Feng answered, "How is it?"

"Mr. Lu, someone on our team speaks French, you know Li Xiaosi? She speaks English and French. I've already spoken to her, and she'll be assigned to be your translator." Mr. Liu replied.

"Oh, okay!" Lu Feng was a little stunned. He hadn't realized that Li Xiaosi could speak French. You really can't judge a book by its cover.

The following day, the group boarded the other half of the flight and flew directly to London. The recent changes in the board of directors of Jiafeng Electronics have attracted the attention of many overseas companies, and it is impossible to keep Lu Feng's trip to Europe a secret.

For companies in Japan and the United States, this is a do-or-die battle for Lu Feng. If he achieves success in Europe, Jiafeng can get out of its predicament. If the R&D company makes another breakthrough this year, it will mean that Jiafeng will break through completely.

Compared to companies like Sony and Panasonic, Silicon Valley companies are more nervous. After more than a decade of hard work in integrated circuits and communications, and competing with Japanese companies, they have finally managed to compete on par with Japanese companies internationally. Jiafeng Electronics has done in a few years what they did in ten years. How do the leaders view these people?

Watanabe has a good relationship with Wall Street and has now become a bridge between Japanese companies and Wall Street. After a meeting, everyone felt that they should take a two-pronged approach: blockade in research and development and also target the European market.

Unfortunately, neither Japanese nor American companies have a high market share in Europe, and they are too big. Any slight movement they make can easily be investigated. The EU was created to deal with them, and while it may not dare to expel them, it will certainly not hesitate to impose huge fines.

Watanabe was given a new mission: to persuade Wall Street to communicate with Siemens in order to bring Lu Feng to his knees in the European market. At the same time, Jiafeng Electronics' various clubs in the United States were also investigated, and its plan to recruit American college graduates was completely ruined.

Watanabe called Eisen first and also made an appointment with Lambert.

Inside the office, Lambert, who had just returned from vacation, looked at the documents on the table. He had to admit his judgment: Lu Feng's resilience far exceeded that of ordinary people. He was very good at maneuvering and retreating in the international community, so slippery that it made people grit their teeth.

After reading the document, Lambert agreed with Watanabe's idea. The problem was that it would be impossible to talk to Siemens about this without spending some money. This benefit should come from Japanese companies.

Lambert picked up the phone and dialed the telephone company. He said into the phone, "Connect me to Mr. Watanabe Shi."

The call was answered and then returned. Lambert picked up the phone with a smile and said, "Happy New Year, Watanabe-kun?"

Watanabe Shi was beaming with joy when Lambert greeted him so warmly. This kind of treatment was not something ordinary people could receive; it represented face. Even though he knew in his heart that Lambert needed him and was using him, the survival rule of Wall Street was that being used proved your value.

"Thank you for your greetings, and Happy New Year to you too. You must have seen the message that Aisen relayed. We believe it is very necessary now," Watanabe said on the phone. "Currently, in the field of high-end manufacturing, the competition between us is quite fierce globally. However, there are too many cases where the third-largest company benefits from the competition between the top two. We should eliminate any worries about the future first. Moreover, Jiafeng is no longer a purely Chinese company; it has Europe behind it."

"Watanabe-kun, I completely agree with your point of view. Our companies can't make any moves in the European market, so having Siemens take action to suppress us is a good idea. However, persuading Siemens might not be enough with just words," Lambert said quite bluntly. "We need to offer some benefits. What can you offer?"

"We..." Watanabe Shiki didn't dare to make any rash promises. After thinking for a moment, he said, "We need to hold a meeting to discuss this. What concessions will the companies in Silicon Valley make?"

“We also need to have a meeting to discuss this,” Lambert replied.

"Okay, I'll get back to you as soon as possible!" Watanabe said politely and hung up the phone.

Lambert hung up the phone. They had no intention of giving Siemens any benefits. As long as the Japanese companies made certain concessions, such as in terms of market access and technology research and development cooperation, dealing with Jiafeng Electronics wouldn't require much of a benefit. They would then inform Siemens that they would also make certain concessions after the matter was completed.

Once Jiafeng is crushed in the European market, what happens after that won't matter. Just drag it out. What can they do even if they have complaints?

Lu Feng and his group finally landed in London. This ancient yet modern metropolis was awe-inspiring to those who had come from China. High-rise buildings and cars were everywhere, and many people secretly vowed to stay here.
