Feng Haidong returned from out of town and stayed in the countryside for many more days.
As his son's summer vacation was about to end, Feng Haidong decided to take his son back to the city.
As they prepared to return home, Feng Haidong discussed the matter with his wife that evening.
"Honey, I think I should take Fanfan and Yueyue back with me. You can stay with Mom and Dad. That way, you won't have to take care of the kids, and Mom and my older sister will look after you. I can rest assured."
Hearing her husband's words, Lu Wanling asked with some confusion, "Fanfan is going to start school, but Yueyue doesn't. If you take Yueyue back, are you going to take care of both children at home by yourself?"
Feng Haidong said, "My idea is that I can take care of Fanfan and Yueyue, and my parents and Wanhong can help take care of Yueyue. Also, I think the third child should take care of Yueyue himself to cultivate the relationship between Yueyue and Zhou Xiaoxiao, otherwise it will be difficult to manage in the future."
After hearing her husband's words, Lu Wanling realized that they made sense.
During this time, Lu Wanling was in town, and her younger brother Lu Yaobin and younger sister Lu Wanhong came to visit her.
Lu Yaobin even made several special trips to bring his older sister milk powder and various nutritional supplements.
On several later occasions when Lu Yaobin came to visit his elder sister, he always brought Zhou Xiaoxiao along.
Therefore, Lu Wanling understood that her younger brother and Zhou Xiaoxiao were planning to get together.
The only problem between the two of them is Lu Yue.
Several times Lu Yaobin and Zhou Xiaoxiao came to the town together, but they always came and went in a hurry.
Lu Yue seems to have gotten used to her parents not being around, and now she is even more attached to her aunt Lu Wanling.
When Feng Haidong wasn't back, Lu Yue slept with her aunt every night.
These past few days, my uncle has been back, and the little girl has been very sensible, going to sleep on her little bed in the room by herself.
Of course, this was also because her uncle would tell her stories every night, which always helped the little girl sleep very well. Then her uncle would carry her to the little bed he had prepared for her.
However, Lu Wanling felt that this couldn't go on forever, as her younger brother would eventually marry Zhou Xiaoxiao.
If her younger brother remarries, Lu Yue is destined to face Zhou Xiaoxiao, her stepmother.
Lu Yue is still young, and if Zhou Xiaoxiao is willing to be sincere, she should be able to win the little girl's acceptance.
Therefore, Lu Wanling understood that what her husband said was indeed reality, something she had to face.
However, Lu Wanling was still a little worried that her little niece wouldn't be able to accept it.
"I'm still worried. If Yueyue goes back with you, will she feel uncomfortable without me by her side?"
Feng Haidong said, "If Yueyue doesn't adapt well, I can send her back."
Lu Wanling said, "How about this, we ask Yueyue tomorrow?"
Feng Haidong nodded and said, "Okay, ask Yueyue herself. If she is willing to go back with me and Fanfan, I will take her back with us. If she doesn't want to go back, then she can stay in town. If that doesn't work, I'll have Mom talk to the town kindergarten and let Yueyue go to the town kindergarten for a while."
Lu Wanling thought her husband's idea was great: "That's good. You can tell Mom later and ask her to go find someone at the town's kindergarten."
Feng Haidong said, "There's no need to rush. The person in charge of the kindergarten in town is Mom's goddaughter. If Mom goes and talks to her, I guarantee Yueyue can go to school."
Lu Wanling couldn't help but say, "During my time in town, I discovered that my mother has a very good relationship with many people in the town."
Feng Haidong asked, "Really?"
Lu Wanling said, "Yes, Mom is clearly from Shandong Province, and she came back from the provincial capital with Dad. You would think she doesn't know anyone in your hometown, right? But when I went to the market with Mom before, I found that she really knows a lot of people. Those people either call her godmother or auntie. They are so affectionate."
Feng Haidong laughed and said, "Hahaha, that's Mom's wisdom in dealing with people. Do you think that just because Dad worked in the provincial capital and the district, people in the town only respect our family because of Dad?"
Lu Wanling asked, "Isn't that right?"
Feng Haidong said, "That's part of the reason, but there's also my mother's wisdom behind it. You probably don't know, but when many women in town come to my father for favors, my mother is usually the one who receives them. She's very kind to those older women."
Hearing this, Lu Wanling couldn't help but gently pat her husband: "What do you mean, 'old woman'? How can you talk like that?"
Feng Haidong laughed and said, "Haha, don't be angry, I just said it offhand. Let me tell you, Mom gets along very well with the women in the town and village. Many of them recognize Mom as their godmother. Mom has goddaughters all over the surrounding villages."
Lu Wanling thought for a moment and said, "No wonder so many people come to wish my parents a Happy New Year every year before the Spring Festival. I used to think they were all coming for my dad, but it turns out many of them are coming for my mom."
Feng Haidong said, "Yes, you only come back on New Year's Eve every year because of work, so you don't know that many of the people who come to wish your parents a Happy New Year are your mother's goddaughters. Every year, the things they bring are local specialties from their respective villages."
Lu Wanling immediately added, "By the way, every year Mom asks me to buy those milk powder, malted milk powder, milk candy, and things like that in advance. Aren't they all for my goddaughter?"
Feng Haidong nodded and said, "That's right. When people visit for the New Year, you can't let them go back empty-handed."
Lu Wanling said with a smile, "As expected, Mom's wisdom is superior."
Feng Haidong said, "My mother's wisdom is certainly different. She came from Shandong Province to fight with my eldest uncle. Later, she worked with my father in the provincial capital for many years and also worked with my father in the district. So my mother is not an ordinary country woman."
Lu Wanling said, "I need to learn more from my mother in the future."
Feng Haidong laughed and said, "Haha, that's great! You should learn more about life and how to conduct yourself from your mother. Our family will be relying on you to run the household from now on."
