Upon seeing his wife's figure appear at the intersection in the distance, Feng Haidong immediately picked up his daughter, pointed in her direction, and whispered in his daughter's ear to remind her to look.
"Mengmeng, look over there, over there, look at that, isn't that Mommy?"
Clearly, the little girl must hear the word "mother" often at home, so she reacted immediately when she heard someone saying it.
However, Feng Shimeng did not look in the direction her father was pointing; instead, she turned her head and first sized up her father.

Lu Wanling didn't see the father and daughter at first; she was still watching the cars on the road before preparing to quickly cross the road.
After crossing the road, Lu Wanling glanced at the entrance of the residential area and saw a figure carrying a child that looked familiar.
As she got closer, Lu Wanling finally recognized her husband and daughter.
Meanwhile, the little girl in her father's arms, squirming and unable to find her mother, was starting to lose patience. She opened her mouth in her father's arms as if she was about to cry.
Just then, Lu Wanling recognized her husband and daughter, and quickly ran to them.
When Feng Haidong saw that his daughter was already smiling, he was afraid that she was about to cry, so he quickly hugged her and comforted her.

Lu Wanling leaned closer to her daughter and said with a smile, "Oh, Mengmeng, did you see Mommy? Is that why you're looking for Mommy? Mommy's home from get off work."
Feng Shimeng finally saw her mother. This time, the little girl didn't freeze; she seemed to recognize her mother immediately.
Then the little girl didn't want to stay in her father's arms and reached out her little hand to her mother, wanting her to hold her.
Lu Wanling handed the bag to her husband and took her daughter from his arms.
When Feng Haidong saw his daughter being held by his wife, he couldn't help but laugh and say, "This little girl is so young, yet she's already starting to recognize people."
Lu Wanling hugged her daughter and said, "Who told Daddy not to be home? But she didn't recognize anyone, she still let Daddy carry her out and sneak to the intersection to wait for Mommy, right?"
Feng Shimeng was in her mother's arms, a smile on her little face, babbling incoherently.
Lu Wanling and her husband played with their daughter for a while before asking, "Why are you back today?"
Feng Haidong said, "The renovation in the provincial capital is finished, so Xiao Wu and I came back to take a look."
Lu Wanling asked, "Did Xiao Wu come back with you too?"
Feng Haidong nodded: "Yes, Xiao Wu came back too."
Lu Wanling asked, "How is Xiao Wu doing in the provincial capital? Has he made any more mistakes?"
As Feng Haidong and his wife walked back, he said, "No, Xiao Wu has been doing very well lately. And the electrical skills he learned when he was renovating the shop came in very handy. He re-laid the wiring in the shop and installed the light boxes on the storefront."
