Chapter 47 In business, accounts should be settled clearly.

When Lu Wanling returned home, she saw a large basin full of crayfish under the persimmon tree and immediately realized that Feng Baoan must have brought the crayfish.

She quickened her pace, entered the courtyard, and prepared to thank Feng Baoan.

But as soon as Lu Wanling stepped inside, she saw that her father-in-law was also there.

"Dad, you're here! Is Mom here yet?"

When Feng Chungu saw her daughter-in-law enter the door, she said with a smile, "Haidong asked your Uncle Bao'an to help him get some crayfish, but your Uncle Bao'an got too many. He couldn't deliver them to you, so he came to town to find me. I went to the river to ask Haidong's older cousin for help. We found a truck that delivers fish to the city, and they delivered them all together."

After hearing her father-in-law's words, Lu Wanling immediately looked at her husband who was still busy in the kitchen. Then she quickly said to her father-in-law and Feng Baoan, "Dad, Uncle Baoan, we are really sorry to trouble you. This is all Haidong's fault. He only thought about asking Uncle Baoan to help collect the crayfish, but he didn't think that Uncle Baoan would not be able to transport them over."

Feng Baoan chuckled and said, "Niece-in-law, don't blame Haidong. It's mainly because the villagers are too enthusiastic."

In this matter, both Feng Baoan and Feng Haidong underestimated Feng Chungu's prestige in the village.

You know, before the old man retired, he really did a lot of practical things for the village.

It can be said that every household in Feng Village has benefited from Feng Chungu's kindness.

So when Feng Baoan returned to the village and mentioned that Feng Chungu's fourth son wanted crayfish, all the elderly people in the village mobilized all the able-bodied men in their families to participate.

This is because it's only the end of May, and it's not yet the season when crayfish really start to appear in large quantities.

Otherwise, Feng Baoan might have been able to get another fifty jin for Feng Haidong.

Lu Wanling was well aware that all of this was due to the reputation her father-in-law had built up over the years, and she sincerely thanked Feng Baoan once again.

"Uncle Bao'an, thank you so much, and thank you to all the villagers as well."

Feng Baoan said, "Niece-in-law, don't thank me. It's nothing. The young people in the village usually catch them to play with. I didn't expect city people to like eating them."

Lu Wanling said with a smile, "Uncle Bao'an, it's not that city people like to eat this. Actually, not many people in the city eat it here. This stuff is more popular in my hometown, so my family eats it every year when it's in season."

Feng Baoan asked curiously, "Niece-in-law, where is your hometown?"

Lu Wanling replied, "It's from Nanjing."

Feng Baoan nodded and said, "Oh, Nanjing? What a nice place."

As they were chatting outside, Feng Haidong, carrying the last of the soup, came out of the kitchen with his son, who was holding a bowl and chopsticks.

"Wife's back? Hurry up and wash up, we're getting ready for lunch. Bring out that bottle of Gujinggong liquor from home, I'll have a couple of drinks with Dad and Uncle at noon."

Upon hearing this, Feng Baoan quickly said, "Don't bother, there's no need to bring such good wine."

Feng Chungu pulled Feng Baoan to sit down and said, "Baoan, sit down. Now that we're at Haidong's house, let's listen to what Haidong and his wife have to do."

Feng Baoan was pulled to sit down by Feng Chungu, and had no choice but to follow Feng Haidong's arrangements.

Lu Wanling went back into the room to change her shoes, and then took out a bottle of stored wine from under the bed.

This bottle of wine was given to Lu Wanling by her workplace. She originally planned to bring it home to drink during the Chinese New Year.

But Feng Baoan really helped a lot today, so it's only right that we offer him some good wine.

After everyone sat down around the table, Feng Haidong personally poured wine for Feng Baoan and his father.

Then Feng Haidong poured a small cup for his wife as well.

Then he said to his wife, "Wanling, let's toast Uncle together first."

When Feng Qifan saw his parents paying respects to Grandpa Bao'an, he couldn't help but say, "Mom and Dad, I want to pay respects to Grandpa Bao'an too."

Feng Qifan's words made the adults at the table laugh.

Feng Chungu said, "Fanfan is right. Your grandpa Baoan has helped your family so much today. The three of you should toast grandpa Baoan together."

Feng Haidong smiled and said to his son, "Okay, son, stand up. The three of us will toast you, Grandpa Bao'an."

So, Feng Haidong, his wife, and son raised their glasses to toast Feng Baoan.

Feng Qifan boldly added, "Thank you, Grandpa Bao'an, for catching so many crayfish for my dad."

When Feng Baoan saw Feng Haidong and his family of three toasting together, he stood up with a big smile on his face.

After listening to Feng Qifan's words, he smiled and said, "Grandpa Bao'an, thank you for the toast, Xiao Fan. When you go back to the village during the holidays, you must visit Grandpa Bao'an's house."

Feng Qifan nodded and said, "Okay, I'll definitely go. Grandpa Bao'an, you can teach me how to catch crayfish too."

Feng Baoan immediately agreed: "Okay, Grandpa Baoan will have the older brothers and sisters in the village take you to catch them."

After toasting Feng Baoan, Feng Haidong and his family of three toasted his father.

"Dad, I'm so sorry to trouble you today. I'm already married and have a career, and I still have to trouble you. I promise you, I will do my best in business and try to make a name for myself."

After listening to his father, Feng Qifan followed suit and said, "Grandpa, I will also study hard, and I will definitely perform well in the Children's Day program."

Seeing that the father and son had said so much, Lu Wanling could only say, "Thank you, Dad. I will take good care of the family."

Seeing his son and his family of three so harmonious, Feng Chungu was naturally very satisfied.

Although the old man has been retired for several years now, he is well aware of the changes in the times.
