The residential compound of the light bulb factory workers.
The Li family.
Duan Cuilu prepared four home-style dishes and two bottles of "Tie Zhenghe" liquor.
Wang Peng and Li Kefan have a drink.
"Xiaopeng, are you still staying at Teacher Chen's house?" Duan Cuilu asked.
Wang Peng shook his head. "I've booked a hotel outside, waiting for my house to be renovated."
My cousin's family has five members, so there was really no place for him to stay.
"Staying in a hotel is such a waste of money; it costs ten yuan a day."
Duan Cuilu felt a pang of heartache, turned to look at Li Kefan, and gave him a wink.
"Xiao Peng, you can stay at my house for now." Li Kefan pointed to the bedroom next to Li Mingzhu's.
The Li family's house is 100 square meters, with a layout of three bedrooms and one living room.
Wang Peng was taken aback, not expecting Lao Li to be so generous.
"Brother Peng, I'll tidy up your room later." Li Mingzhu couldn't help but smile.
Living under the same roof as her boyfriend is her dream.
But with her parents looking serious, she dared not show her happiness on her face.
"Xiaopeng, how's the stationery wholesale business?" Li Kefan asked.
“Uncle, I transferred my business to someone else and got this car instead.” Wang Peng handed the vehicle registration certificate to Li Kefan.
"Xiao Peng, is this car yours now?" Duan Cuilu immediately beamed with joy.
He hurriedly took the driver's license from Wang Peng.
Seeing Wang Peng's name on the vehicle registration certificate, he smiled broadly once again.
Li Kefan smiled.
Nowadays, cars are a symbol of status.
The most common mode of transportation in the provincial capital is the bicycle, with a small number of motorcycles, and cars are extremely rare.
"Uncle, Auntie, I still owe someone 39,000 yuan to buy this car."
Wang Peng did not want to hide his financial situation.
The Li family of three were all shocked, stunned by the huge sum of 39,000 yuan.
It's worth noting that the average wage in the provincial capital this year is 500 yuan.
It would take an average worker six and a half years, without eating or drinking, to save up 30,000 yuan.
The silence was eerily quiet when I was empty-handed.
Duan Cuilu turned pale with fright, "This, this..."
Li Mingzhu quietly took Wang Peng's hand under the table.
"Brother Peng, with your business acumen, you should be able to pay off your debts in no time."
She said with a smile.
These words were meant for my parents.
Wang Peng nodded. "I plan to open a tobacco and liquor store, mainly selling various cigarettes and alcoholic beverages."
"The tobacco and alcohol business isn't doing too well," Li Kefan waved his hand.
"Xiao Peng, counterfeit cigarettes and alcohol are everywhere now, and almost every household and store has counterfeit goods."
"Why? Because genuine products don't make money, but counterfeit products do."
"Based on my understanding of you, you couldn't possibly be selling counterfeit goods; your voice when you smoke and drink would be very difficult to understand."
Li Kefan said.
"Uncle, you know me best." Of course, Wang Peng would never sell counterfeit cigarettes or alcohol.
"I think that as long as you insist on selling genuine products, you can win a reputation for being honest and reliable."
"Once you have a good reputation, your business will naturally improve."
Wang Peng shared his business experience.
“Dad, Peng is right,” Li Mingzhu said. “As our ancestors said, honesty wins the world.”
Duan Cuilu whispered, "Xiaopeng, it's hard to earn 40,000 yuan in just a few years by relying solely on the tobacco and alcohol business, isn't it?"
"The tobacco and liquor store is only temporary. Once business improves, I will expand the operation," Wang Peng said.
Duan Cuilu nodded, but her face still betrayed her worry.
"Xiaopeng, tobacco and liquor stores are different from stationery wholesale stores; they need to stay open all the time."
"Although university courses are easy, you still don't have time to keep the business running all the time. Are you planning to hire someone?"
Li Kefan asked.
Wang Peng nodded; hiring someone to watch the shop was a certainty.
"Uncle, my high school classmate didn't get into university, so he'll work for me and help out at the shop."
“He is a good friend of mine, and I trust his character.”
Wang Peng suddenly felt conflicted.
Will Du Lei remain an employee or invest in and partner with others in the future?
"Alright, it seems you're ready. If there's anything I can do to help you, be sure to let me know."
Li Kefan picked up his glass and said, "Xiao Peng, have a couple more drinks with me."
Next, the family ate and chatted.
Duan Cuilu and Li Mingzhu finished eating quickly, and the mother and daughter went to Li Mingzhu's bedroom to chat.
Wang Peng and Li Kefan continued drinking.
Li Mingzhu's bedroom.
"Girl, give me the key." Duan Cuilu held out her hand.
"What key?" Li Mingzhu asked with a smile. "Mom, why do you need a key to my room?"
"You little brat, you dare play dumb with me?"
Duan Cuilu reached out and tapped her daughter's forehead. "You have a key to the bedroom next door. Take it out quickly."
"No, I don't have the key," Li Mingzhu said.
Duan Cuilu grew anxious, bent down and picked up the slippers from the ground, "Are you going to take them or not?"
Li Mingzhu quickly got out of bed.
He opened the desk drawer and took a key from a cut-open soda can.
"Mom, I'm so cute, how could you bear to hit me?" she said with a smile and a coquettish tone.
"You brat, you're my daughter, how could I not know you!"
Duan Cuilu put the keys in her pocket and sat on the bed with a crying face.
The girl and Wang Peng are already eighteen-year-old young people.
She doesn't object to their relationship, but she worries that they might not be able to control themselves and could end up with someone pregnant.
"Mingzhu, you, you mustn't do this..."
Duan Cuilu blushed, unsure how to explain the science to her daughter.
"oops!"
She sighed deeply, got up, walked out of the bedroom, changed her shoes, and prepared to go out.
"Old Duan, where are you going so late?" Li Kefan asked.
