Chapter 199 Huang Ran's Illegitimate Daughter

When the man pushed open the door and entered the restroom, Wang Peng saw his profile.

Li Mingzhu chuckled and teased, "Brother, why are you staring at men like that?"

Wang Peng said, "He is Wang Cheng."

Li Mingzhu frowned.

She knew that Wang Cheng was her boyfriend's younger brother, who was studying at a teachers' college in the provincial capital, and she also knew that her boyfriend's relationship with his blood relatives was irreconcilable.

Judging from Wang Cheng's attire, he seems to be an employee of Huihuang Supermarket; it's normal for college students to take on part-time jobs.

“I suffered terribly at his hands in my past life. I’m always on high alert whenever I see him. Once bitten, twice shy,” Wang Peng said to himself with a self-deprecating smile.

Suddenly, I felt myself being stared at, and when I turned my head, I saw a sweet-looking girl.

She was wearing supermarket work clothes, had short hair that reached her ears, and a slightly hooked nose.

The two looked into each other's eyes, and the girl smiled and looked down at the magazines on the counter.

This is the gold and silver jewelry section, with counters and shelves filled with gold and silver jewelry.

Wang Peng walked to the counter, looked down at her nose, and frowned. Her nose actually looked a lot like Huang Ran's.

The magazine she was reading was Manga World, specifically the One Piece comic on page twenty-five.

"Sir, would you like to buy gold?" The innocent-looking girl looked up and casually closed the magazine.

"I also love reading comics. Do you sell books in the supermarket?" Wang Peng asked with a smile.

“Huihuang doesn’t sell physical books. You can buy them at the newsstand downstairs.” The girl picked up the magazine. “That’s where I bought mine.”

"Okay, thank you." Wang Peng left the counter and continued shopping with his girlfriend.

The two went to the children's section on the fourth floor, which mainly sells toys, children's clothing and other goods.

"Brother, is there something wrong with that female shop assistant?" Li Mingzhu asked doubtfully. "Her name is Huang Yueling, and her name is on her employee badge."

Wang Peng nodded slightly, "Her facial features are very similar to Huang Ran's, especially her nose."

"Huh?" Li Mingzhu shook her head, puzzled. "Huang Ran only has one son. Do you suspect that Huang Yueling is Huang Ran's illegitimate daughter?"

“I didn’t say that,” Wang Peng said. “We both have big imaginations and like to daydream, but she reads your comics.”

Li Mingzhu beamed with joy when she ran into a reader while shopping at the supermarket.

On the third floor of the Brilliant Supermarket, Huang Ran appeared at the stairwell with a somber face.

The shop assistants immediately tensed up, quickly stopped talking, and turned their backs to him.

My heart was pounding. The boss looked so grim; he was sure he'd yell at someone. I wondered who would be the unlucky one.

Huang Ran's negotiations with Wang Peng broke down, and he was cursed at for being a "fuck your mother." He was furious and had nowhere to vent his anger, so he went to the supermarket to find a punching bag.

"Hello, boss," Huang Yueling said with a smile, secretly hiding the comic book behind her back.

"Why are you alone? Where is your partner?" Huang Ran asked in a deep voice.

"He went to the bathroom, he'll be back soon." Huang Yueling's heart tightened.

At this moment, Wang Cheng appeared by the counter. When he saw the boss arrive, he quickly put on a smile.

Just as I was about to greet him, I was met with a barrage of insults.

"How many times do you go to the toilet a day? A lazy donkey on a millstone only expels a lot of shit and pee, it's nothing!"

"Don't you want to work here anymore? If you don't want to work here, then get the hell out of here. If you don't want to work here, there are plenty of people who will."

His voice was like a suona horn suddenly blaring, startling not only the shop assistants but also the customers who were shopping.

"Boss, I'm sorry." Wang Cheng hurriedly bowed deeply, his head directly facing his boss's chest.

He didn't want to lose this job, which paid 200 yuan a month and allowed him to wear a splendid suit every day.

"Hmph, this is the last time!" Huang Ran sneered. "If you dare to do it again, you're fired immediately."

Having vented some of his anger, Huang Ran felt much better and strode into the office next door.

Only when he could no longer hear the boss's footsteps did Wang Cheng raise his head and hurriedly walk behind the counter.

Nearby shop assistants cast sympathetic glances at him.

They all knew the boss's temper, and they also knew that Wang Cheng wouldn't last long; within three days, the boss would find a reason to fire him.

Wang Cheng stood quietly beside Huang Yueling, his unfocused gaze fixed on the gold bracelet in the glass display case.

"He might have been mistreated outside, don't take it to heart," Huang Yueling whispered, trying to comfort him.

"Yeah, I've run into trouble." Wang Cheng secretly blamed himself for not staying in the toilet a few more minutes.

He had just seen Wang Peng, and his inferiority complex got the better of him, so he went to the toilet to hide.

He didn't want Wang Peng to know that he was working part-time at Huihuang Supermarket.

The older brother he once looked down on is now a small business owner driving a Santana.

Huang Yueling felt pity for Wang Cheng, who had only been with the company for less than half a month and was unaware of the boss's temper or that he would soon be fired by Huihuang.

Moved by compassion, she said softly, "Second Uncle... no, the boss's brother committed a crime and will soon be in jail. The boss wants to ask the victim for forgiveness, but it seems he has been rejected by the victim."

Wang Cheng's eyes sharpened immediately, and he asked urgently, "Who is the victim? Where does he live?"

If you can solve the boss's problem, your future will definitely be bright.

Huang Yueling shook her head slightly, "I don't know his home. His shop is Brothers Tobacco and Liquor Store, which is near the university in the provincial capital."

Wang Cheng turned around abruptly and stared intently at Huang Yueling.

A few seconds later, Huang Yue's cheeks flushed red. "Xiao Wang, it's very impolite to stare at a girl."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Wang Cheng quickly apologized.

"It's alright." Huang Yueling looked down at the gold jewelry in the display case.

The reason she gave Wang Cheng advice was largely because he was handsome; he was the most handsome guy in the Brilliant Supermarket.

"Wang Cheng, if you can persuade the brother tobacco and liquor store to understand, the boss will not only not fire you, but will also promote you."

She said softly, "That boss's name seems to be Wang Peng. How about we visit him together after get off work?"

"Not good at all. Wang Peng is like a rock in a latrine. Even the boss can't handle him, let alone us."

Wang Cheng smiled slightly, reached out and stroked the comic magazine, already having a solution in mind.

Huang Yueling sighed softly; she hadn't held out much hope.

“But we can win over the person he cares about most.” Wang Cheng opened the comic magazine and turned to page twenty-five.

He pointed to the author's pen name, "Pearl on the Wings of a Roc," and said, "Wang Peng's woman is the author of One Piece. The roc spreads its wings, holding a pearl in its arms; it has a profound meaning."

"Ah?" Huang Yueling quickly covered her mouth. "You, how did you know?"

Wang Cheng said, "Sister Yueyue, you once said that your mother is a member of the Writers Association in our province, is that true?"

Huang Yueling nodded, then asked in confusion, "Xiao Wang, why are you suddenly bringing this up?"

Wang Cheng laughed; girls who aren't very bright are the easiest to fool.

He said softly, "If your mother writes a preface for One Piece, it's possible that One Piece could be published as a standalone anime, just like Slam Dunk."

Huang Yueling blinked repeatedly, then suddenly cried out in surprise, drawing everyone's attention.

She whispered, "You mean, as long as my mom writes the foreword for One Piece, Wang Peng will write a letter of forgiveness to our boss?"
