Chapter 229 Request the school to test the ginseng wine

When Wang Peng heard that the deceased had died from drinking, he stopped thinking about it and went downstairs to buy a beef sandwich.

Too many people across the country have died from alcohol poisoning.

Drinking too much at once, drinking like crazy, is the easiest way to drink yourself to death.

After buying the sesame cakes, Wang Peng returned to the ward and took care of his wife's meal.

Li Mingzhu looked at a magazine featuring beautiful women and ate a sesame seed cake. "I just heard someone crying downstairs. What happened?"

Wang Peng said, "Someone drank himself to death, and his wife cried terribly."

Li Mingzhu was taken aback and frowned slightly. "Pengpeng, could you find out where he bought the wine?"

If things escalate, the business should offer some humanitarian compensation; she was worried that the person had bought the alcohol from his brother.

“There’s no need for that. The family has already called the police,” Wang Peng said. “It was probably a gathering of friends where they drank too much.”

After thinking it over carefully, he figured that those who drank with the deceased should also bear legal responsibility.

"Pengpeng, go and find out, okay? Be a good girl." Li Mingzhu suddenly pleaded.

Wang Peng exclaimed that he couldn't take it anymore. After finishing the sesame seed cake in his hand, he went back to the poisoning ward floor.

Soon, he met a mother and daughter in room 304.

My mother, who was around thirty years old, sat on the hospital bed with red and swollen eyes from crying. She was the same woman who had just been crying bitterly.

There was a five or six-year-old girl next to me, holding her mother's hand tightly, her eyes full of confusion, not knowing why her mother was crying.

There were only the two of them in the entire ward.

"Hello, elder sister." Wang Peng bowed slightly and said softly, "The dead cannot be brought back to life. Please accept my condolences."

The woman nodded, forcing a smile that looked more like a grimace.

Wang Peng said, "My name is Wang Peng, and I run the Brothers Tobacco and Liquor Store. I heard the child's father..."

"Mr. Wang, the wine isn't yours, don't worry." The woman gently shook her head.

"Big sister, do you know me?" Wang Peng asked.

"I've heard of you. Everyone says you pay your workers a thousand yuan a month." The woman hugged her daughter and tears streamed down her face again.

The child blinked and peeked at Wang Peng. Wang Peng met her gaze, and she quickly lowered her head.

She couldn't bear to lose her father at such a young age, so she reached into her wallet and took out the only two hundred yuan she had left.

"Sister, this is all I have. If you need help, go to my brother's shop to find me."

The woman was taken aback, then quickly waved her hand, "Brother Wang, I work for the government, and my father-in-law is in business. Thank you for your kindness."

Wang Peng nodded, gently patted the girl's head, and turned to leave.

“Brother,” the woman said, “the wine is ginseng wine bought from Qinghui, and the forensic doctor is currently examining it.”

Upon hearing the name Qinghui Ginseng Wine, Wang Peng's eyes sharpened. He immediately thought of Lao Qian, who had bought the ginseng wine, and the samples in the car.

He hurried back to the ward and said in a deep voice, "I'll call Mom and ask her to come and take care of you."

"What's wrong?" Li Mingzhu asked anxiously.

“I suspect there’s something wrong with Qinghui’s ginseng wine, so I’m going to have it tested in the school lab,” Wang Peng said.

"Go quickly, I can manage by myself." Li Mingzhu glanced at her watch. "I might be too late, the lab is closed."

"Let me see. If it's closed, I'll come back to find you." Wang Peng patted her head and strode out of the ward.

I went downstairs, put the sealed wine dispenser in my pocket, and drove straight to the provincial university.

He parked his car at the Academic Affairs Office and went directly to the Principal's Office to find the Principal.

When Principal Zhou Shun saw Wang Peng, he smiled and said, "Xiao Peng, long time no see. How's business?"

Wang Peng said, "Business is going well, thank you for your concern, Principal Zhou."

Zhou Shun smiled slightly, "Brother, your tobacco and liquor store brings honor to the school. You are a role model for college student entrepreneurship, so of course I have to care about you."

The hat was too big for Wang Peng to wear, so he took out a wine dispenser from his pocket.

Zhou Shun immediately burst out laughing, "You're such a stingy guy, is this little bit of wine even enough to fill my teeth?"

Wang Peng hurriedly shook his head, "I suspect this is poisoned wine, please help me make arrangements."

"Poisoned wine?" Zhou Shun frowned instantly.

Industrial alcohol diluted with cold water becomes poisonous.

After a moment, he shook his head. "I can arrange for graduate students to do the tests for you, but our tests are just for academic research."

The implication is that the test results have no authority and will not be adopted by relevant departments.

Wang Peng said, "Principal Zhou, I just wanted to verify my guess, that's all."

“Okay.” Zhou Shun dialed the phone, and after a moment, he said in a deep voice, “Go to Laboratory Building No. 7 and find Teacher Lin. I’ve arranged everything.”

Wang Peng thanked him with a smile, chatted with him for a few more minutes, and then drove to Laboratory No. 7.

I met Professor Lin at the entrance of the laboratory building, handed him the wine dispenser, and was told to come back around 11 a.m. tomorrow to pick up the results.

Wang Peng thanked him, drove away from the school, and returned to the hospital to continue taking care of Li Mingzhu.

...

Xueyuan Road, Linzhuang, an urban village.

Song Lamei rode her bicycle home and heard someone calling her. She turned around and saw her neighbor Zhao Yanzi.

She was the manager of the liquor section at Qinghui Supermarket, and Song Lamei's former boss.

"Sister Yanzi, did you just get off work?" Song Lamei asked.

"Why didn't you go to work today?" Zhao Yanzi pulled out a wad of cash and whispered, "Old Niu told me to fire you."

Song Lamei chuckled and quickly counted the money after taking it.

After a moment, she said in a deep voice, "I worked ten days this month, he should have given me seventy yuan, why did he only give me fifty?"

Zhao Yanzi smiled wryly, "He said you were absent from work without reason and deducted twenty yuan from your pay."

"Go to hell..." Song Lamei cursed, getting angrier the more she cursed.

With a daily wage of only seven yuan, and then twenty yuan deducted, even the best temper can't stand it.
