Chapter 234 Ma Yonghong Admits Defeat

Wang Peng drove to the main store of Yonghong Supermarket.

A large crowd was found gathered in front of the main store, making it impossible for cars to pass; they had to park on the side of the road.

“Pengpeng,” Li Mingzhu cupped Wang Peng’s face and gave him a deep kiss.

After a long silence, she released her red lips and said, "Go for it! Take down Yonghong in one fell swoop and defeat the eight major sects among the ten major sects."

"Yay! Good luck!" Li Mingzhu said with a smile.

Wang Peng patted her head and said softly, "Be a good girl and wait for me in the car. Don't run around."

He handed the car keys to his wife, stepped into the crowd, and looked up to see a figure on Yonghong's rooftop.

This is a ten-story building. That person climbed so high, it certainly wasn't to see further.

Further into the crowd, police cars and fire trucks were seen; it turned out that someone had attempted suicide by jumping off a building.

"Hello, sir." Wang Peng offered a cigarette to a middle-aged man. "What's going on upstairs? Why would someone jump?"

The old man said, "He is the owner of Liu Xiang Shrimp. He has been supplying shrimp hot pot base to Yonghong Supermarket. Who knew that Yonghong owed him money for more than two years, so he couldn't make a living."

Wang Peng scratched his head, thinking about how Ma Yonghong was exploiting his suppliers. He truly deserved to be one of the "Top Ten Outstanding Entrepreneurs in the Provincial Capital".

He continued walking towards the gate of Yonghong and saw a weeping young man.

The man was dressed in a suit and tie, carrying a briefcase, with a red nose and tears welling up in his eyes.

He and Wang Peng exchanged a glance, then he lowered his head and walked past Wang Peng.

This man was Ma Guoming, the former director of administration at Yonghong Supermarket. He was beaten by the boss and had his mouth bleed just for saying the word "shrimp," and was eventually kicked out of the store.

Wang Peng didn't know him, but a man doesn't easily shed tears, only when he's truly heartbroken.

In addition, Wang Peng silently memorized his face as he walked out of Yonghong's backyard.

The main entrance of the building was completely blocked, with police setting up a cordon and firefighters having already deployed a rescue airbag.

"President Wang," Cai Shangcheng patted Wang Peng on the shoulder and said with a smile, "You must be my brother's President Wang Peng, right?"

"I am Wang Peng, and you are?" Wang Peng asked.

“I am Cai Shangcheng from Yonghong’s administration department. Mr. Wang, please follow me. We’ll go find the boss through the back door,” Cai Shangcheng said.

Wang Peng nodded, followed him out of the crowd, entered the office area through the back door, and took the elevator to the ninth floor.

In a luxurious office, Wang Peng met Ma Yonghong and his son Ma Guoqing.

"Hello, Mr. Wang." Ma Guoqing shook hands with him and said with a smile, "Mr. Wang, this is my father."

Wang Peng smiled slightly, too lazy to shake hands and greet him, and sat down directly opposite Ma Yonghong.

"Brother, this is Goddess Brand sanitary napkins, the most popular and best-selling brand in the country," Ma Yonghong said with a smile.

There was a box of sanitary napkins on the table, still in its original packaging and unopened.

Wang Peng said, "Thank you for your generosity, but I cannot accept a reward without having done something right."

Ma Yonghong said, "I don't like to drag things out. Starting today, all ten of Yonghong's supermarket chain stores will stock Sanhua wine."

Over here, Ma Guoqing stared intently at Wang Peng and found it unbelievable that there was no joy on Wang Peng's face.

"So many merchants are begging Yonghong to list their products, why is he so calm?" Ma Guoqing wondered.

Wang Peng chuckled and asked doubtfully, "Mr. Ma, you can just take it down and put it back up whenever you want. Where do you think I'll put my face?"

Ma Yonghong suddenly opened his eyes and stared intently at Wang Peng.

Wang Peng smiled faintly and squinted as he looked at him.

The scene was deathly silent. Ma Guoqing's heart was in his throat. Boss Wang was really asking for trouble.

Tick-tock, tick-tock, the only sound in the room was the clock on the wall.

After a long silence, Ma Yonghong smiled slightly and said, "Brother Peng, your face doesn't look old at all. I have a 24-year-old grandson whose face looks older than yours."

"Oh? Is that so?" Wang Peng found it amusing.

For a moment, both of them smiled.

Ma Guoqing breathed a sigh of relief. He hadn't expected his father to compromise so quickly. It seemed that the losses from removing Sanhua Wine from the shelves were too much for his father to bear.

“Brother Peng,” Ma Yonghong said, “Qinghui Supermarket has been shut down and the owner has been criminally detained. If his fake liquor has killed more than thirty people, he will inevitably have to go to the execution ground.”

"Qinghui has become history. If you and I resume our cooperative relationship, only eight of the ten major sects will remain."

Ma Yonghong extended his right hand and said with a smile, "You're a smart man, let's cooperate."

"Sure, but I have a few conditions," Wang Peng said.

"Speak." Ma Yonghong smiled and leaned back tactically.

"I'm willing to cooperate, but only if you take me to Liu Xiang's Shrimp Restaurant and treat me to shrimp hotpot," Wang Peng said with a smile.

These words struck him like a bolt from the blue. Ma Yonghong's eyes widened instantly, though his pupils were small and even when they were wide open, they were no bigger than glass marbles.

Ma Guoqing's heart jumped into his throat again, and a cold sweat slid down his forehead.

This is no longer just a taboo; it's suggesting that Muslims eat large amounts of meat and that the abbot of a temple drink alcohol.

It might require surgery.

Ma Yonghong and Wang Peng looked at each other, neither of them speaking. Tick-tock, tick-tock, the sound of the clock echoed in their ears.

Soon, Ma Guoqing broke out in a second cold sweat.

He was prepared to protect his father if he made a move.

After a long while, Ma Yonghong reached into the drawer, took out a stack of business cards, and picked one out.

He reached out and pressed the speakerphone button, holding the business card in one hand and dialing with the other. The call was connected very quickly.

"Hello, this is Liu Xiang Shrimp Xueyuan Road Store."

"Please prepare the best shrimp hot pot and deliver it to the Brothers Tobacco and Liquor Store on Xueyuan Road. Yonghong Supermarket will send you the money."
