Chapter 339 You plotted against me?

Wang Peng drove back to the hotel and invited Chen Mengchang into the room.

Chen Mengchang sat down, took out a cigarette, tossed one to Wang Peng, and lit one for himself.

"You spread rumors about my brother supermarket, causing me huge losses, and you don't seem afraid of me at all." Wang Peng fiddled with his cigarette.

"Not afraid? Who says I'm not afraid? I'm terrified." Chen Mengchang shook his head.

“If I wasn’t afraid of you, I wouldn’t have run away. I’m really scared that you found me so quickly.”

At this point, he gave a wry smile, "Boss Wang, you're treating me like a bedbug, what's the point of being afraid?"

Wang Peng smiled slightly, "You're quite the scoundrel, not bad, much better than a hypocrite. Finish your cigarette."

Chen Mengchang crossed his legs and slowly smoked a cigarette. After finishing one, he lit another for himself.

Wang Peng took out two cans of peanut milk from the box, pulled the tabs, gave one to himself and one to Chen Mengchang.

"Thank you, Mr. Wang." Chen Mengchang downed the whole bottle in one gulp and let out a satisfied burp.

He looked at the can and said, "This peanut milk costs three yuan a bottle. To be honest, I can't bear to drink it."

Wang Peng said, "I know you love this, so I prepared it especially for you."

"Oh? Thank you, boss." Chen Mengchang fiddled with the can, continuing to smoke his cigarette and using the can as an ashtray.

A few minutes later, he finished his second cigarette. "My cousin owns a printing factory called Hualong Printing Factory. He printed the rumor-mongering leaflets."

"The flyers were handed out by college students. They would hand out flyers to me as long as I paid them."

"I've used this kind of borderline method to ruin the reputation of many people, but I never expected to stumble on you. I never expected you had CCTV."

After finishing his explanation, Chen Mengchang gave Wang Peng a thumbs up.

"Chen Mengchang? Your real name should be Chen Erhai. Do you like Lord Mengchang, who was known for his rooster-crowing and dog-thieving ways?" Wang Peng asked.

Upon hearing this, Chen Mengchang's expression changed, and he shook his head with a wry smile.

“I don’t want to beat around the bush with you. Who instructed you to spread rumors? Was it Wang Cheng?” Wang Peng stared straight at him.

“Even thieves have their code of honor. I won’t betray my customers. You can call the police now,” Chen Mengchang said.

"You'd rather go to jail than abandon your principles?" Wang Peng said coldly.

Chen Mengchang crossed his legs, tilted his head to look at Wang Peng, and looked completely indifferent.

Wang Peng wasn't in a hurry. He turned on the TV, turned up the volume, and pulled up a stool to sit opposite him.

"Boss Wang, what do you mean?" Chen Mengchang frowned slightly.

"I heard you're incredibly energetic, and once went three days and three nights without sleep?" Wang Peng stared into his eyes and smiled slightly.

"What? You want to compete with me in eagle-taming?" Chen Mengchang put down his crossed legs and lit another cigarette for himself.

“If you lose, you’ll implicate Wang Cheng. If I lose,” Wang Peng opened his bag and took out a thousand yuan.

“This game is boring, I’m not interested in playing with you, unless…” Chen Mengchang chuckled and said in a deep voice, “you add money.”

Wang Peng took another thousand yuan and put it on the table.

Chen Mengchang glanced at the money, nodded, and then reclined in his chair with his arms crossed.

Wang Peng casually picked up a book and sat down opposite him to read. The Eagle Endurance Competition officially began; whoever couldn't endure it first would lose.

The next room.

Sun Minglei was a little nervous. "Chen Mengchang is incredibly energetic. He can really go two days and two nights without sleep. Is the boss up to it?"

Du Lei shook his head. "The boss has a bit more energy than me. I can only stay up until 11 p.m., but he can stay up until 11:30 p.m.

"Huh? Then we're bound to lose!" Sun Minglei shook his head. "The boss clearly knows he'll lose, so why did he even bother with this competition?"

Li Keyong turned around and smiled slightly, "The boss doesn't have as much energy as him, but he's smarter. He can't lose."

Hearing this, Du Lei and Sun Minglei were finally relieved, as they both trusted the mature and steady Li Keyong.

Two hours later, in Wang Peng's room.

Chen Mengchang suddenly felt sleepy, and he quickly shook his head to drive away the drowsiness.

A few minutes later, drowsiness returned, and he finally realized something was wrong, so he looked up and stared directly at Wang Peng.

Wang Peng also crossed his legs and said with a smile, "Tired? Want to admit defeat?"

"Hmph!" Chen Mengchang sneered, "Even if I didn't sleep well yesterday, I can still easily beat you."

"Mr. Chen, there's no use being stubborn. Let's continue." Wang Peng continued reading his novel.

Ten minutes later, Chen Mengchang grew increasingly sleepy, couldn't help but yawn, and tears welled up in his eyes.

He quickly bit his tongue, thinking to himself, "Something's not right today. I'm usually not sleepy at this time at all. What's wrong with me today?"

"I can't sleep, I can't sleep, I have to hold on, I really need two thousand dollars." Chen Mengchang kept telling himself.

Then, his head became heavier and heavier, his spirits deteriorated, and his eyelids grew heavier and heavier.

He didn't know how much time had passed when he fell asleep in the chair. A few minutes later, Wang Peng woke him up, his eyes filled with confusion.

“Mr. Chen Mengchang, you have lost,” Wang Peng said.

Chen Mengchang looked bewildered. After a long while, he gave a bitter smile and said, "Although I don't know why I lost, I'm willing to accept my defeat. Ask me."

"Wait a moment." Wang Peng took out his phone and called Hu Juan. "Sister Hu, I'm sorry to bother you so late."

Hu Juan yawned and said, "Boss Wang, you go ahead and say it."

Wang Peng said, "I'm in Ping'an County. I've found Chen Mengchang. Don't hang up."

As he spoke, he placed the phone on the coffee table and asked, "Mr. Chen, did Wang Cheng contact you to have you slander me?"

Chen Mengchang glanced at his phone and shook his head. "Wang Cheng didn't contact me. The person who contacted me was Liu Yunlai from Huihuang Supermarket."

Liu Yunlai, Hu Qing's maternal uncle and a shareholder of Huihuang Supermarket, was the one who sent Hu Qing to the mental hospital.

"Can I believe you, Mr. Chen Mengchang?" Wang Peng smiled calmly.

“I’m willing to accept defeat,” Chen Mengchang said. “Is the person on the phone a policeman? You can hang up now.”

Wang Peng hung up the phone and handed him a cigarette.

Chen Mengchang waved his hand, "I'm not smoking anymore. I want to know why I lost. I'm in good spirits; it's impossible for me to get sleepy when I'm with you."

Wang Peng pointed to the peanut milk can, "The secret is on the can, take a look."

Chen Mengchang was taken aback. He picked up the can and examined it closely. Soon, he discovered a pinhole on it.

His eyes widened instantly, and he looked up sharply, staring directly at Wang Peng. "You, you put something in there..."

"I take sleeping pills when I can't sleep, and they work quite well." Wang Peng smiled slightly and couldn't help but yawn.

"Fine, fine, you schemed against me?" Chen Mengchang laughed angrily. "Wang Peng, everyone says you are kind-hearted, but they're all talking nonsense."

"Is he kind-hearted? I think they're right. Of course I'm kind-hearted to good people, but as for someone like you..."

Wang Peng picked up his phone. "Mr. Chen, I'm going to call the police now. Is there anything else you want to say?"

"No." Chen Mengchang waved his hand and sneered, "I shouldn't have taken your business back then, what bad luck."
