Chapter 367 An Interesting Blind Date

After lunch, only Wang Peng and Li Mingzhu were left at home, sitting on the sofa watching TV.

"Ouch!" Li Mingzhu suddenly clutched her stomach.

"What's wrong?" Wang Peng was so startled that he jumped up and quickly grabbed Li Mingzhu's shoulder.

"My son kicked me, and it hurt." Li Mingzhu grinned, gently stroking her lower abdomen.

Wang Peng breathed a sigh of relief and carefully massaged her; the sudden jolts were truly frightening.

He turned the TV volume down and said softly, "How about we go for a walk outside? Staying at home all day isn't good."

After thinking it over carefully, Li Mingzhu suggested, "How about going to People's Park? There are lots of trees there, and the air is fresh."

"Okay." Wang Peng immediately packed up the small stool, mat, drawing board, and other odds and ends, went downstairs, and locked them in the trunk of his car.

Then, they went upstairs to help Li Mingzhu out of the car and carefully drove to People's Park.

Arriving at the large hibiscus tree where the two fell in love, Li Mingzhu suddenly felt inspired to create something.

Wang Peng then brought out a folding stool, drawing board, and other items for her.

"Honey, sit under the tree and be my model," Li Mingzhu whispered.

"Okay." Wang Peng carried a stool to the tree and sat down on it with an air of nonchalance.

"Relax and be natural." Li Mingzhu smiled slightly and picked up her pen to draw lines on the paper.

Wang Peng's phone suddenly rang, and he answered it, holding it to his ear.

"Brother Peng, this is Du Lei," Du Lei said on the phone.

"I'm Wang Peng, you can speak now." Wang Peng waved his hand to his wife to express his apology.

"The insurance company asked us to sign the compensation agreement; the fire compensation has already been approved," Du Lei said with a smile.

Wang Peng was stunned, remembering that his brother's No. 1 store had been set on fire and the insurance company was going to pay one million yuan in compensation.

This was a huge sum of money. After going through layers of approval, almost a year has passed, and their compensation has finally been paid out.

Wang Peng sneered and muttered under his breath, "These bastards are so slow. They haven't even bought insurance for our No. 3 store yet, have they?"

Du Lei hurriedly said, "We've selected two companies and were just about to report to you."

Wang Peng said, "Just don't buy from this company. I don't have time right now. Go and collect the compensation."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than the sound of swallowing came from the other end of the phone.

Du Lei said softly, "Brother Peng, what are you busy with? This is a million-yuan compensation."

"I'm taking my wife to the park," Wang Peng said. "You're the company president, you can handle it."

After a few seconds of silence on the phone, Du Lei tentatively asked, "Brother, are you serious?"

Wang Peng countered, "Is there anything else?"

Du Lei hurriedly said, "No, nothing else."

"That's settled then." Wang Peng casually hung up the phone, put it in his pocket, and said with a smile, "Wife, continue."

Li Mingzhu smiled slightly, carefully observed her husband's eyebrows and eyes, and quickly sketched out the sharp lines.

A few minutes later, she heard her husband's phone ring again, immediately stopped painting, and looked at him with a smile.

Wang Peng answered the phone and said, "Hello, this is Wang Peng."

"Hello Mr. Wang, my name is Ma Hui, I'm a key account manager at Evergreen Insurance Company. May I have a minute of your time?"

A woman's voice came from the phone.

Wang Peng glanced at his watch and said, "Okay, let's just chat for a minute. I'm painting with my wife right now."

"Thank you, boss," Ma Hui said hurriedly. "I heard that your company's third store wants to buy accidental property insurance, and our company specializes in this kind of business..."

She gave a detailed account of Evergreen Insurance Company's accident and property insurance business.

Wang Peng listened to her while glancing at his watch, then interrupted her, "Excuse me, one minute is up."

"Mr. Wang, don't hang up yet," Ma Hui said urgently. "Let's set a time, I'll treat you to Longjing tea."

Wang Peng was taken aback, then burst out laughing: "You've been studying me? You know I love Longjing tea?"

Ma Hui quickly smiled apologetically and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Wang, you're a celebrity in the provincial capital now."

"I don't deserve it," Wang Peng said. "Go find Brother President Du Lei; he's in charge of buying insurance. Goodbye."

Before the other party could recall, Wang Peng hung up the phone, gave his wife an apologetic look, and reached out to turn off the phone.

"No." Li Mingzhu waved her hand and said with a smile, "Don't turn it off, just in case something important happens."

Wang Peng put the phone in his pocket, crossed his legs, and let her draw.

At this moment, two women and a man walked this way. Wang Peng looked up and saw Li Guifen, and was stunned for a moment.

Li Guifen also saw him, paused for a moment, and then suddenly raised her head and walked towards him.

The three of them came over, and the young woman said, "Sister Li, Brother Liu, you two chat first, and tell me if you need anything."

She glanced at Wang Peng, reached into her pocket and pulled out a business card, saying, "I'm from Jiayuan Marriage Agency. Are you married?"

Wang Peng pointed to Li Mingzhu and said calmly, "This is my wife."

"Excuse me." The woman quickly bowed and turned to leave the scene.

Wang Peng understood. It turned out that Li Guifen wanted to follow Wang Song's example and find another partner to get married, so she entrusted a marriage agency to her.

Then she looked at the man the matchmaking agency introduced to her. He was around forty years old, a mature young man with a square face and some good looks.

Li Guifen stared at Wang Peng and said coldly, "Xiao Peng, what I'm doing isn't illegal, is it?"

Wang Peng smiled slightly. Li Guifen was actually calling him Xiao Peng. He had been called "Xiao Peng" by her often before he was ten years old.

"Oh, so you really are Boss Wang Peng." The young man hurriedly took out his business card, bowed, and said, "Hello, Boss Wang."

Wang Peng looked at his business card; it read: Dong Daming, the owner of Daming Building Materials Company, whose shop was located on Dushi Road in Huihuang District.

Huihuang Supermarket's No. 5 store is also located on Dushi Road.

Wang Peng stood up and shook hands with him, and as a gesture of courtesy, gave him a business card in return.

The two shook hands, and Dong Daming said with a smile, "Boss Wang, I didn't expect to see you here."

Wang Peng retorted, "Brother Da Ming, is this a date?"

The address "Brother Daming" brought a smile to Dong Daming's face. He was just a small building materials merchant, while Wang Peng was a big boss worth millions.

He nodded hurriedly: "My wife passed away two years ago, so I asked a matchmaking agency to find me a companion."

He turned to look at Li Guifen and said, "Boss Wang, do you two know each other?"

Wang Peng nodded and said, "She is the mother of the president of Huihuang Supermarket Group, you know that, right?"

"I know, the matchmaking agency told me." Dong Daming nodded repeatedly.

He looked down on Li Guifen, who was seven years older than him. If Li Guifen weren't Wang Cheng's mother, he wouldn't have wasted his time.

Li Guifen said in a deep voice, "Comrade Daming, let's go for a walk somewhere else."

Dong Daming nodded hurriedly and said with a smile, "Boss Wang, I'll invite you for tea another day."

"Goodbye." Wang Peng waved and watched them leave.

After they walked away, Li Mingzhu chuckled and whispered, "Honey, did Li Guifen get upset by Dad?"

Wang Peng couldn't laugh. If Li Guifen dared to go on a blind date, she was sure to be abused by Wang Cheng.
