Chapter 408 Refusal to Apologize

When Wang Peng got home, he went to the kitchen to cook. After finishing the meal, he ate his fill first, then held his son to give his wife time to eat.

Dinner was braised pork and tofu with vegetables. Li Mingzhu ate with great relish, nodding repeatedly: "Honey, your cooking is getting better and better."

"I've mastered it," Wang Peng said. "What do you want to eat tomorrow? I'll buy the groceries in advance."

After finishing her meal, Li Mingzhu put down her chopsticks and said, "Honey, you seem to have something on your mind. Tell me about it."

Wang Peng was taken aback. He sat down next to her, holding his son, and asked in confusion, "I've hidden it so well, how could you tell?"

“Of course.” Li Mingzhu smiled slightly. “We’ve been together for four or five years, and I can guess what every change in your expression means.”

"Oh?" Wang Peng scratched his head and couldn't help but smile slightly. "Yes, we've been married for a long time."

He stopped hiding it and told the story of the conflict between Wang Song and Wang Cheng, and how Wang Song was thrown by Wang Cheng.

Li Mingzhu frowned, then gave a cold laugh, "I didn't expect Wang Cheng to be such a scoundrel, but..."

She changed the subject, softening her voice: "Honey, please don't hit him. You can deal with him in other ways."

Wang Peng nodded. "What you said makes sense, but I don't know how to deal with him. Can you give me some ideas?"

Li Mingzhu scratched her head and began to rack her brains. After thinking about it for a while, she shook her head and said, "I can't think of anything for now. Let me think about it some more."

"No need, I've already thought of a solution." Wang Peng carried his son to the window and looked at Wang Cheng's house across the street.

Sensing that something was wrong with him, Li Mingzhu walked over to him and took the child from his arms.

“Honey, why don’t you go talk to him? I’ll go with you,” Li Mingzhu said softly.

If Wang Peng doesn't talk to Wang Cheng after his elderly father was beaten, things will definitely not go smoothly.

“I’ll go myself. I’ll give him a chance to downplay the situation. Let’s see if he can seize it.” Wang Peng smiled coldly.

“Honey, you must control your emotions. Arguing and fighting won’t solve anything,” Li Mingzhu said. “I’ll go with you.”

"No need, I can handle it," Wang Peng refused again.

Wang Cheng's family was plagued by bad luck, and if possible, he never wanted his wife and children to see Li Guifen.

After chatting with his wife for a few more minutes, Wang Peng went downstairs to find Wang Cheng.

Wang Cheng opened the door, saw Wang Peng, and was taken aback. "Brother, is there something you need?"

Wang Peng, hands in his pockets, asked, "Shall we talk here?"

"Please come in." Wang Cheng opened the door and bent down to get him a pair of slippers.

Li Guifen was sitting in the living room watching TV when she looked up and saw Wang Peng. She immediately got up and went back to her bedroom.

She had already guessed Wang Peng's purpose in coming.

"Let's talk in my study." Wang Cheng led Wang Peng to the study, opened the tea table, and brewed a pot of tea.

Wang Peng stared straight at him and gave a cold smile: "Old Wang sued you for alimony, and you lost the case. You must be very angry."

“But that’s no excuse for you to hit your own father.” Wang Peng stared intently at him. “You have an obligation to support him.”

Wang Cheng remained calm, picked up the teapot and poured two cups of tea, one for himself and one for Wang Peng.

"Brother, are you talking to me?" he said with a smile.

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Wang Pengqiang suppressed his anger. "Is there a third person here? Why would I talk to a ghost instead of you?"

Wang Cheng shook his head and said sincerely, "I didn't hit him. He's my own father. How can a son hit his father?"

"Brother, there must be some scoundrel spreading rumors. That scoundrel is trying to sow discord between us. Don't be fooled."

Upon hearing this, Wang Peng was completely stunned. He knew Wang Cheng was shameless, but he never expected him to be this shameless.

"Wang Cheng, don't you dare admit what you've done?" Wang Peng sneered, staring straight at him.

"My dear brother!" Wang Cheng raised his hand and swore, "If I hit my own father today, may I be run over by a car and die as soon as I step outside. Are you satisfied now?"

"Heh." Wang Peng chuckled angrily. If he didn't have the photos in his hand, he would have believed his nonsense.

Wang Peng waved his hand, "I'm not going to waste my breath on you. Go and kowtow to Old Wang to apologize before tomorrow morning, and this matter will be over."

"Brother!" Wang Cheng sighed loudly, "I've already said that this is someone else slandering me. I never hit our father."

"I swore a solemn oath, why don't you believe me?" Wang Cheng shook his head, looking heartbroken.

"Heh." Wang Peng said impatiently, "I'll give you one more chance. Think it over before you answer."

He sat up straight and stared directly into Wang Cheng's eyes: "Did you knock the old man down?"

The air was quiet, and the two looked at each other without saying a word.

After staring at each other for a full half minute, Wang Cheng gently shook his head: "Since you don't believe me, there's no need for us to continue talking."

"Fine! I gave you a chance, but you're useless." Wang Peng was too lazy to waste any more words with him, so he got up and left.

He opened the study door and saw Li Guifen standing in the doorway. The two stared at each other for a few seconds before Li Guifen turned her head away from him.

After Wang Peng left, he locked the door, went into the study, and saw Wang Cheng sitting with his legs crossed, smoking.

"Xiao Cheng, go apologize to your father," Li Guifen advised cautiously.

"He made me kneel down and apologize. Even if Wang Song were my own father, I would never kneel down," Wang Cheng sneered, staring straight at her.

“That’s his own father, what’s wrong with kneeling down?” Li Guifen suddenly raised her voice.

Bang! Wang Cheng slammed his hand on the table, startling her.

He threw the cigarette on the ground, stood up, put his hands in his pockets, and turned his back to Li Guifen.

A few seconds later, he said coldly, "I have just gained the trust of the board of directors, and it is time for me to make great strides. Wang Song is my father, but he is also a shareholder of Brothers Supermarket."

“I am the CEO of Brilliant. If the board of directors finds out that I am kneeling before him, I will lose their trust.”

"Mother, please don't bring this up again. For the sake of our future, I definitely won't apologize."

At this point, Wang Cheng glanced coldly at the embroidery on the wall that read "Great Ambitions," his eyes growing increasingly sinister.

"My child!" Li Guifen cried out in anguish. "It was daytime, someone might have seen it. How can you deny it?"

"Yes!" Wang Cheng said with a smile. "When I made my move, there was no one passing by at all."

Hearing this, Li Guifen felt a pang of pain in her heart. At the time, she hadn't paid attention to her surroundings and didn't know if anyone had seen her.

Even if no one sees it, there's still God above.

She shook her head and said earnestly, "Xiao Cheng, I know your father's temper. As long as you sincerely apologize, he definitely won't pursue the matter."

"Stop talking! My business is none of your concern!" Wang Cheng said angrily, striding back to his bedroom.

Li Guifen stood there, stunned, looking at the empty study. Her nose stung, and tears streamed down her face.
