Chapter 416 The Fool

At 9 p.m., Wang Song and Hu Juan finished their candlelight dinner and drove home.

When Hu Juan saw Wang Peng's car parked downstairs, her heart skipped a beat, and she quickened her pace to go upstairs.

Wang Song quickened his pace to catch up, and asked anxiously, "Juan, what's wrong?"

Hu Juan waved her hand without saying a word, walked straight to her door, took out her key and opened the door, a strong smell of alcohol hit her nose.

"It's over." She glanced at her daughter's room, then pulled Wang Song back to the bedroom. "Old Wang, you stay here. Don't come out unless I call you."

Wang Song was a little confused and asked in a low voice, "What happened?"

Hu Juan sighed, shook her head, opened the desk drawer, and took out the spare key to her daughter's bedroom.

She opened her daughter's room and saw a meticulous man and woman; her vision went black.

"What a tragedy!" She hurriedly closed the door, leaned against it, and clutched her chest.

After a long while, she gritted her teeth and walked to the bedside, first dressing Hu Mingyue, and then dressing Wang Peng.

After doing all this, Hu Juan hurriedly returned to the master bedroom. "Old Wang, Xiao Peng is drunk. Take him home."

"Huh?" Wang Song was completely dumbfounded. He hurriedly got up and followed Hu Juan to Hu Mingyue's room.

Looking at Wang Peng and Hu Mingyue on the bed, his vision went black, and he squatted down on the ground. Four words flashed through his mind: drunken promiscuity.

The next second, his head throbbed with pain.

Wang Peng was his son, and Hu Mingyue was Hu Juan's son. The two were half-siblings and had no blood relation whatsoever.

If Wang Peng were a bachelor, he and Hu Juan would have wholeheartedly supported their marriage, but things didn't go as planned.

"Juan, what should we do?" Wang Song became more and more frightened as he thought about it, and couldn't help but tremble with fear.

"Let's pretend we didn't see anything, let's pretend nothing happened." Hu Juan forced a smile that looked more like a grimace. "Go ahead."

"Hey." Wang Song carried Wang Peng on his back and slowly carried him downstairs.

Although he was over fifty years old, he had worked in the fields all his life and easily carried Wang Peng away.

They met Zhou Dahai at the stairwell, and Zhou Dahai quickly helped them. Together, they put Wang Peng in the car.

Zhou Dahai was a little embarrassed and said, "Uncle, I'm sorry, Mr. Wang drank with me today."

"It's nothing." Wang Song gritted his teeth in anger, but put on a smile. "He can only drink half a jin of baijiu. Don't drink too much with him in the future."

“Okay, I understand,” Zhou Dahai said hurriedly.

After Wang Song drove away, Zhou Dahai suddenly felt that he could find a way to get Wang Song to gamble.

He's just a foolish, rich old farmer; he's bound to lose a lot of money.

In Wang Song's house, in Hu Mingyue's bedroom, Hu Juan meticulously inspected the sheets, checking them over and over again like a hunting dog.

After a long while, she finally felt relieved. As a veteran police officer, she was 100% certain that the two of them had not had a romantic relationship.

"You shameless brat," Hu Juan cursed her daughter, then returned to the study across the street to replay the CCTV footage.

They quickly learned the whole story.

It turned out that Wang Peng had invited his friends to drink at home. Wang Peng got drunk first, and then Hu Mingyue took him to his bedroom to rest.

She watched the video from beginning to end and couldn't help but shake her head. It turned out that it was all a trick played by her daughter. How childish!

"Three-legged toads are hard to find, but there are plenty of two-legged men out there. Why are you so fixated on him?"

Hu Juan grew angrier and angrier, and stormed back to her daughter's room, sitting on the edge of the bed waiting for her to wake up.

Here, Wang Song drove to the Wenxin residential area and first called Li Mingzhu, only to learn that his in-law, Li Kefan, was also there.

When Li Kefan learned that Wang Peng was drunk and unconscious, he rushed downstairs, and the two old brothers worked together to carry Wang Peng home.

"Old Wang, what's going on? Why is Xiao Peng so drunk?" Li Kefan asked.

Wang Song blushed, unsure how to answer. He dared not tell the truth, nor did he want to lie to his daughter-in-law, Li Mingzhu.

In his view, it was his son's fault; his daughter-in-law was still breastfeeding, so he absolutely couldn't upset her.

Li Mingzhu smiled slightly and said, "Dad, Peng wanted to acquire shares of Huihuang Supermarket. He was drinking with Zhou Dahai, the shareholder, and probably got drunk by him."

"Acquiring Huihuang Supermarket?" Li Kefan was a little confused and hurriedly asked, "Mingzhu, are you sure you're not mistaken? Huihuang is much bigger than yours."

Li Mingzhu said with a smile, "Dad, as long as we keep eating, even if Huihuang is an elephant, Peng Ge and I can eat it up."

Li Kefan was relieved and nodded, saying, "I don't know anything about business. You guys handle it. I'll call your mother."

He used the phone in the living room to call Duan Cuilu and asked her to come and take care of the child so that his daughter could be free to take care of Wang Peng.

By 10:30 p.m., Wang Peng gradually regained consciousness and felt his throat was parched. "Water, water..."

The warm tea flowed down his throat, and he greedily drank a few mouthfuls. He slowly opened his eyes and saw his wife sitting in front of the bed.

"Mingzhu." Wang Peng sat up with a thud, immediately feeling dizzy and lightheaded.

"Lie down quickly and don't move." Li Mingzhu helped him lie down again and gently massaged his temples.

Wang Peng felt comfortable, but frowned and tried hard to remember, "Wife, I remember falling asleep at Dad's house, I think I slept in Mingyue's room?"

"Yes, Dad just brought you here," Li Mingzhu asked with a smile. "Honey, is there anything else you need to think about?"

Wang Peng thought carefully, then suddenly felt a headache coming on. "I can't remember, I only know that I fell asleep."

“Brother,” Li Mingzhu shook her head, “you can’t get drunk outside anymore. If you’re going to drink with other people, you should have at least two trustworthy people with you.”

Wang Peng was a little confused. "What do you mean? What happened?"

He scratched his head and added, "I drank at my father's house, and Mingyue was taking care of me. Nothing should have happened, right?"

"Hehe," Li Mingzhu said, "Nothing happened this time. Anyway, listen to me, next time you drink, you must have a trustworthy man by your side."

Wang Peng nodded, then frowned and stared blankly at the ceiling.

Suddenly, something occurred to him, and he quickly widened his eyes: "Mingyue? Has Mingyue been up to her old tricks again?"

"Haha..." Li Mingzhu laughed out loud.

Seeing her smile like that, Wang Peng knew Hu Mingyue was up to something again. "That brat, I wonder what she's thinking all day. Mingzhu, nothing happened between us, right?"

“No,” Li Mingzhu said. “Aunt Hu called just now, and from her tone, I could tell you didn’t cross the line.”

"That's good, that's good." Wang Peng said, both amused and exasperated. "Wife, try to talk to her more often, don't let her overthink things all the time."

Li Mingzhu nodded and said with a smile, "Don't worry, I will teach her a good lesson."

That was the end of it; Wang Peng acted as if nothing had happened.

Two days later, he received a call from the relevant department informing him that his tourist visa to England had been approved.
