Wang Peng drove to the provincial capital's international airport, opened the car door and beckoned Li Mengjiao to get out, then opened the trunk to get her luggage.
Four women in suits got out of the car and immediately approached: "Boss..."
They are Li Mengjiao's assistants, and also shoulder the important responsibility of being her bodyguards.
"Thank you for your hard work." Wang Peng smiled and handed the suitcase to them.
"Mr. Wang, this is our job, it's not hard work," the head assistant hurriedly replied.
"Sister Dafeng, you guys go wait for me over there." After Li Mengjiao finished speaking, she saw a woman running quickly towards them.
Wang Peng followed her gaze and saw that it was actually his third sister, Wang Xia.
"Brother, sister-in-law, why didn't you tell me?" Wang Xia complained, pouting, panting heavily.
She had just attended her father's wedding, and he casually mentioned it, so she hurriedly drove over.
Wang Peng asked, "How did Dad's wedding go? Did Li Guifen cause any trouble?"
"No, she's incredibly honest," Wang Xia said, grinning from ear to ear. "But her face was awful; she was red-faced with anger, haha..."
She couldn't help but laugh out loud; she had no liking for Li Guifen either.
"I reckon she's already starting to regret divorcing Lao Wang," Li Mengjiao chuckled, then added, "Brother Peng, shall we go grab a bite?"
There was a ramen shop in the airport. The three of them went in, and Wang Peng ordered three bowls of ramen. They sat down and waited.
Wang Peng and Li Mengjiao talked about their daughter and had a very pleasant conversation, sometimes even chuckling softly at the most engaging parts.
Wang Xia felt like she was an annoying third wheel.
After finishing her ramen, she hurriedly returned to the hotel to attend the wedding.
"Mengjiao, how's Wang Xia's work going?" Wang Peng asked.
"It's alright." Li Mengjiao nodded in satisfaction. "She's very diligent at work and her performance is excellent. I plan to promote her to President of the Greater China region."
"Huh?" Wang Peng scratched his head, a slight smile playing on his lips.
James Bond is the president of Greater China, in charge of domestic business, and is the top person under Li Mengjiao.
"Actually, you don't need to consider my feelings. Just arrange a suitable job for her based on her abilities."
Wang Peng took her hand and slowly left the ramen shop.
“She’s quite capable, I’m pretty confident in her.” Li Mengjiao wrapped her arm around hers.
The two strolled around the airport, arrived at the waiting area, and sat down in a corner to rest.
"Brother, I heard you want to open a branch in the Brilliant District?" Li Mengjiao asked, "Do you have enough money?"
"It's alright, I'm planning to raise funds." Just then, Wang Peng's phone rang in his pocket.
He answered the phone, hung up two minutes later, and said with a smile, "It's the owner of Qinghe Winery calling again, trying to talk to me about investment."
Hearing this, Li Mengjiao chuckled and was no longer worried about the future of Brothers Supermarket.
The fact that the big investors proactively contacted Brother Supermarket for an admission ticket shows that they value Brother Supermarket's future prospects.
“I’m not worried about the money. Are there any policy issues?” Li Mengjiao asked. “I heard from Du Lei that the approval process is encountering difficulties?”
"It's a small matter, I can handle it." Wang Peng didn't want to talk about it anymore and said, "Let's talk about something else, it's no fun talking about business every day."
Li Mengjiao nodded and said in a low voice, "If you have any problems that you can't handle, just call me and I'll try to find some connections for you."
At this point, she leaned close to Wang Peng's ear and whispered, "We've only been together six times. Can I get pregnant?"
Wang Peng was taken aback, then burst out laughing: "Don't worry, I'll come to your place once the visa comes through."
Li Mengjiao nodded and said, "You must come. Bu Hui misses you all day long, and I don't know how to coax her anymore."
"I'll call her more often," Wang Peng said helplessly. "Once I get rid of Wang Cheng and my brother's supermarket dominates the provincial capital, I'm going to retire."
The two talked quietly until the announcement urging them to board came over the loudspeaker, at which point they embraced and parted ways.
Wang Peng watched her leave the waiting hall, then turned back to his car. After waiting for about half an hour, the plane finally took off.
This parting, I don't know when we'll meet again.
He glanced at his watch; it was already 11:30 a.m. He hurriedly drove back to the wedding venue, just in time for the banquet to begin.
"Xiaopeng, over here." Hu Juan stood up and called to him.
Wang Peng walked over and sat down next to Hu Juan. Everyone at the table was someone he knew—Wang Song, Hu Mingyue, Wang Xia, and others…
The table was laden with a sumptuous spread of dishes, including plenty of fish and meat. He took a bite of the beef, and it tasted alright.
“This beef is good. Mingzhu likes beef. I’ll buy some for her later,” Wang Peng said.
"No need," Wang Song said. "Your mother has already arranged for someone to send it to her. It includes not only beef but also her favorite sweet and sour carp."
Wang Peng was stunned for a moment, then quickly smiled and thanked Hu Juan, looking up at Li Guifen at the banquet in the distance.
She and her boyfriend Zheng Hua were eating and drinking excessively, as if they were afraid of missing out on the money for the wedding gift, and their eating habits were quite unseemly.
Li Guifen spotted Wang Peng, paused for two seconds, then lowered her head and continued eating and drinking heartily.
"Sigh!" Wang Peng sighed softly and said in a low voice, "She's getting more and more confused. Her future is definitely going to be tough."
"Xiao Peng, don't worry about it." Wang Song sneered, "She won't shed a tear until she sees the coffin. She won't be able to tell who's good and who's bad until she suffers a bit."
The banquet ended quickly, and the father and son saw the guests off together.
Li Guifen let out a burp, raised her head and walked up to Wang Song: "Old Wang, when I get married again, you have to come and support me."
"Hmph!" Wang Song sneered, "Don't worry, I'll definitely support you."
