Chapter 438 Return Journey

After fulfilling Du Lei's request, Wang Peng left Dong Shishi's house.

Back at Li Mengjiao's house, he was so sleepy he could barely keep his eyes open, and he fell asleep as soon as he lay down on the bed.

The door opened, and Li Mengjiao tiptoed in, only to find that Wang Peng and Wang Buhui had both kicked off their blankets.

"No wonder they're father and daughter, they both have the bad habit of kicking off the blankets." She shook her head and covered them with the blankets.

At this moment, Li Mingzhu also came in. When she saw Li Mengjiao covering them with blankets, she quickly covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing out loud.

The two tiptoed out of the house and returned to the bedroom.

Li Mingzhu muttered under her breath, "He's caught a cold countless times because he kicks off the covers at night."

Li Mengjiao laughed too: "He must be tired. He spent the whole day playing with the kids, and then he had to clean Du Lei's bottom at night."

Li Mingzhu nodded and said softly, "Mengjiao, our visas expire in three days. We should go back."

“I know.” Li Mengjiao thought for a moment. “Before you return to China, I have a big gift for you.”

"The big gift you're talking about is a house, right?" Li Mingzhu waved her hand. "We'll buy the house ourselves; houses here aren't expensive."

"Mingzhu, it's getting late, go to sleep." Li Mengjiao yawned, took off her shoes, and got into bed.

Li Mingzhu glanced at her son in the crib, turned on the nightlight, and turned off the main light.

The two sisters lay in the same bed, unable to sleep, and started chatting again. The more they talked, the more energetic they became, until they finally fell asleep one after the other in the early hours of the morning.

The next day, Li Mingzhu started booking plane tickets, and feelings of parting spread throughout the house.

Wang Buhui was sullen and held Wang Peng's hand without saying a word.

“Xiaopeng, stay a few more days. Your mother and I will hate to see you leave,” Li Longfei said.

"Dad, I won't let you go." Wang Buhui shook Wang Peng's arm, her little face very unhappy.

Wang Peng picked her up and said softly, "I'll come and keep you company after I've finished dealing with things back home."

"Dad, when are you coming back?" Wang Buhui asked softly.

Wang Peng's heart sank. He didn't know when he would be able to come back here again.

"Don't worry, your father and I will definitely come to be with you," Li Mingzhu said. "And your younger brother too."

Wang Buhui looked at Wang Jiye, who had a blank expression, and nodded.

At this moment, Li Mengjiao said, "Brother Peng, Sister Mingzhu, I'll take you somewhere."

"Where are we going?" Wang Peng asked.

"Don't ask yet, you'll know when we get there." Li Mengjiao took out her keys and said with a smile, "Let's go."

Wang Peng could only carry his daughter downstairs and get back into her car.

The car left the villa and drove for less than ten minutes on the empty road before stopping in a residential area.

This is a courtyard about half an acre in size, with a two-story building built on it.

Li Mengjiao took out her key, opened the courtyard gate, and led Wang Peng into the small building.

The building was spotless, decorated in a typical British style, and fully furnished with furniture and appliances.

"Mengjiao, what's going on?" Wang Peng asked. "Where is this?"

“This is my friend’s house. She and her husband live in Germany. I called her yesterday, and they can sell the house.”

Li Mengjiao said, "Brother, Sister Mingzhu, we'll show you the house. If you're satisfied, I'll ask her for a quote."

Wang Peng was a little dumbfounded: "Your execution is too strong! It's only been a few days and you've already found a property?"

“Of course, that’s my style,” Li Mengjiao said with a smile. “Let’s look at houses.”

Wang Peng first looked at the first floor, then the second floor. There were eight rooms in total, including bedrooms, living rooms, and bathrooms.

Opening the second-floor window, the view outside was decent, and the air was very fresh.

Li Mingzhu asked, "Mengjiao, what procedures are required for foreigners to buy houses here?"

“It’s complicated, and I can’t explain it in a short time,” Li Mengjiao said. “Mingzhu, you just need to take care of looking at the apartments, and leave the rest of the paperwork to me.”

"Okay, thank you for your trouble then." Li Mingzhu looked around. "This house is alright. Peng, what do you think?"

"I think maybe," Wang Peng asked Wang Buhui, "What do you think, daughter?"

“I like it here too, let’s buy it.” Wang Buhui’s mood immediately improved when she learned that Wang Peng wanted to buy a house.

Li Mengjiao immediately called the landlord, but couldn't get through after two attempts.

She shook her head and said, "I'll call him another day. I'll call you back once the price is confirmed."

Next, Wang Peng took care of the two children, while Li Mengjiao and Li Mingzhu continued looking at houses.

They examined the child very carefully, looking from upstairs to downstairs, from inside the house to outside, and together they assessed how much the child was worth.

They hadn't finished watching even after Wang Jiye fell asleep. Wang Peng put his son on the sofa and played mobile games with Wang Buhui.

After what seemed like an eternity, they finally finished looking at the house.

Li Mingzhu held her son in her arms and whispered, "Brother Peng, this kid is really good. Now we're just waiting for their offer."

Wang Peng nodded and looked at Li Mengjiao: "Let's go back, Jiye is asleep."

“Okay, I’m sleepy too,” Li Mengjiao said.

The group left and drove back to the Li family's house. Wang Peng checked his watch; the entire journey was less than ten minutes.

Next, Wang Peng began preparing to return to China. They went to the supermarket and bought some souvenirs. Before they knew it, the day of their return journey arrived.

That morning, Li Mengjiao drove Wang Peng to the airport, and the two families parted ways outside the airport.

Wang Buhui hugged Wang Peng tightly, tears streaming down her face, and no amount of comforting could stop her.

Wang Peng really wanted to take her back to China to live, but he couldn't do that.

Li Mingzhu looked at Li Mengjiao: "Let Bu Hui come back with us for a few days first, and then you can pick her up, how about that?"

"Forget it." Li Mengjiao shook her head. "Sister Mingzhu, I can't live without Bu Hui either. I'll miss her if I don't see her for a few days."

"Dad, I won't let you go." Wang Buhui's eyes were brimming with tears, pleading.

Wang Peng had a headache, but managed a smile: "Bu Hui, give your father another six months. At most six months, I will definitely come to be with you."

"You have to keep your word." Wang Buhui immediately held up her little finger. "Let's pinky swear, no cheating allowed."

"Pinky promise, no cheating." Wang Peng smiled and made a pinky promise with his daughter.

An announcement urging passengers to board the plane rang out in the airport. Wang Peng hugged Li Longfei, Xu Rong, and Li Mengjiao goodbye, bidding them a reluctant farewell.

Li Mengjiao forced a smile: "Brother Peng, is half a year really enough?"

Wang Peng nodded vigorously: "That's enough, don't worry."

He plans to take over Brilliant Supermarket within six months, deal with Wang Cheng, ensure the steady development of Brother Supermarket, and then reunite with his family here.

Li Mingzhu hugged Li Mengjiao and whispered in her ear, "Don't worry, little sister, we will definitely come."

"Mingzhu... thank you." Li Mengjiao's nose tingled, and she forced back her tears, saying, "I'll wait for you."
