Chapter 166: Selecting Class Leaders

There was a class meeting in the afternoon, so Shen Anning didn't sleep in in the morning. She packed two sets of clothes and prepared to take them to the school dormitory in case of emergency. An Yu and An Xuan had already registered at the middle school. They were supposed to be in the first year of high school, but it was difficult to squeeze in halfway, so Shen's father asked them to spend another half semester in the second year of junior high school to get familiar with the school.

In order to make it convenient for them to go to school, they were specially bought a bicycle. They both went home for lunch. In fact, a large part of the junior high school students ate at school. Everyone in the city had a fixed amount of food, but the Shen family had a large family, some went to work, some went to school, and there was only Grandpa Shen and Grandma Shen at home, plus Xixi, who had no worries. Moreover, Xixi was also going to the Yuhong class and would go directly to the first grade next semester. The two children could go home for lunch and spend more time with the two elderly people.

Shen Anning made lunch, and Xixi helped her out. It included braised fish, stir-fried vegetables, and two servings of rice.

After lunch, when I returned to the dormitory with my packed bag, Sun Wenwen had not come back yet. The class meeting was at 3 pm, so there was no rush. Shen Anning brought half a pound of sachima, which she shared with her roommates, and of course left a piece for Sun Wenwen.

At half past two, six girls walked to the classroom together, chatting and laughing. The head teacher of Shen Anning's class was named Li Qing. She was in her thirties and met her husband when they were young and studying abroad. Her husband studied physics and joined the research institute after returning to China. It was also for this reason that although she was unable to continue teaching at the school during the turmoil, she did not suffer. As soon as the news of the resumption of the college entrance examination came out, the school immediately re-employed her as the deputy director of the medical school, and she also taught several classes.

Everyone respected such a capable person. The students in the class were not very old. They respected the head teacher who was about the same age as their mother, but also felt a little afraid. So when Shen Anning and her roommates walked into the classroom, it was unusually quiet.

A few people didn't dare to speak. They found an empty row of seats and sat down. At about three o'clock, Li Qing, who was sitting at the edge of the first row, stood up and walked to the podium. "First of all, congratulations to everyone for breaking through the fierce competition this year and entering the university campus. My name is Li Qing. I will be your homeroom teacher for the next few years and teach the basic medicine course. I hope that in the coming years we can make progress together and contribute to society and our country."

Pa pa ...

"Okay, be quiet for a moment. Thank you everyone. Next, let's get to know each other. Let's start with the students in the first row and have them introduce themselves."

Most of the students in the classroom only knew the people in their dormitory, so no one was too polite and started introducing themselves from the first student.

"Hello everyone, my name is Liu Ming, I'm 26 years old, and I'm from Beijing. I'm very happy to be your classmate, and I hope to make progress together with you in the coming years."

"Hello everyone, my name is Wang Hongmei, I'm 23 years old, from Guangxi, and I'm very happy to meet you all."

"Hello everyone,,,,,"

,,,,,,,,,

"Hello everyone, I'm Shen Anning, 21 years old, from Beijing, and I'm very happy to be your classmate."

,,,,,,

After the forty students in Class 1 finished introducing themselves, half an hour had passed. Li Qing looked at the energetic crowd and said with a smile, "Okay, everyone has had a brief introduction. I hope that the students in Class 1 of Basic Medicine can help each other in the future and become the backbone of the country."

"Then we will begin electing class leaders. This election is open and voluntary, and everyone can participate. We need five class leaders to serve the students, including the class monitor, vice-class monitor, study committee member, life committee member, and publicity committee member. Those who want to run can come to the podium."

After Li Qing finished speaking, the classmates in the class began to discuss in a low voice. Shen Anning had no interest in class cadres. She was already very busy with her studies and she also had to fall in love, so she really had no time. Therefore, she did not plan to participate. Several classmates in the same dormitory were somewhat interested, but in the end, only Sun Wenwen and Wang Siqi went on stage to speak.

Looking at the people standing beside the podium, Shen Anning was still a little surprised. She really didn't expect that everyone would be so enthusiastic about running for class leaders.

By the time everyone had finished speaking about their campaign speeches, it was almost five o'clock. It was only then that Shen Anning realized that the students in their class should all come from good families. It had to be said that the background checks at this time were really strict. The country was now in a state of disrepair, and education and medical care were the top priorities for future development. This should also be due to the importance of this group of students to the future medical system, so the family status of classmates was also one of the factors to be considered.

Finally, after voting, the five class leaders were elected as the monitor. Liu Ming was one of the oldest students in the class and a native of Beijing. When he was speaking, Shen Anning found that his classmates agreed with some of the things he said, so it was not surprising that he was elected as the monitor. The deputy monitor was Chen Li from Guangdong, 25 years old. She worked in the hospital after graduating from high school and had a basic medical knowledge. Wang Siqi was eventually elected as the propaganda committee member because of her carefree personality and funny way of speaking. Li Qing also felt that this kind of publicity work for foreign exchanges was very suitable for the cheerful girl from Northeast China. Sun Wenwen was also elected as the study committee member. The last life committee member was won by Su Tong from Jiangsu, so there were two men and three women in the class leader group of Class 1.

This is not because the boys are not good, but because there are too many boys running for election, more than a dozen, and it is a bit difficult for everyone to choose, so the few girls who participated in the election received more attention.
