After turning one year old, Peanut's learning ability seemed to be ignited. He spoke more and more fluently and walked more and more steadily. In the beginning, he needed someone to protect him from behind, but now he can run away even if he makes his father angry.
During Shen Anning's last semester as a graduate student, he was busy working on projects and completing his thesis. It was common for him to stay up all night and go to bed during the day. Sometimes, he could not find time to go home until several days or a week. There was nothing he could do because the "experimental results" in the petri dish would not be calculated according to time or conform to people's work and rest habits.
Because of this, Shen Anning often lives in the school dormitory. Her mother is busy with graduation, so her father must take on the responsibility of educating the child. What the whole family did not expect is that under such circumstances, the father-son relationship between Cao Jingheng and Xiaohuasheng has improved a lot, and many moments can be described as fatherly love and filial piety.
After staying up half the night, I packed up the laboratory equipment and looked at my watch. It was half past eight and the sun was already high in the sky. I slept until two in the morning yesterday and was woken up by the alarm clock. I was busy in the laboratory for half the night. When I walked out of the laboratory, I smelled the fresh air outside and took a deep breath.
On the way back to the office, Shen Anning met a medical graduate student who was graduating this year like her. They looked at each other and smiled. They really couldn't help it. It was normal for medical graduates to be busy day and night, and their panda eyes were too obvious.
After finishing the experiment, he could take a day off. Thinking of giving his family a surprise, Shen An Ning, who was packing up in the office, did not call home. He was busy most of the night and was so hungry that he could hardly walk. He rummaged through the drawer and found a piece of bread. He ate it in three bites and filled his stomach first.
I took the bus to the street where the department store was, bought some breakfast and two snacks, and on the way home I smuggled some unsweetened dried fruits and candied fruits. Peanut is older now, so Shen An Ning doesn't restrict him from eating adult food so much. The little guy likes it even if he only adds a little oil and salt.
It's okay to eat a little bit of oil and salt, but Shen An Ning still doesn't plan to let Peanut like sugar when he is so young. However, it is okay to give some dried fruits and candied fruits occasionally to coax the child.
I entered the house at around nine o'clock, and as expected, there was no one at home, including the driver and the car. I guess the grandparents took the little one out to play. I took my things back to the room, took a comfortable bath, ate the pies and fried dough sticks I bought, replenished my carbohydrates, filled my stomach, lay on the bed that smelled of my husband and son, and fell asleep quickly.
She slept until after eleven o'clock. When she opened her eyes, she looked at the familiar ceiling of the bed that she hadn't seen for several days. Shen Anning was a little confused. She was stunned for a few minutes before she confirmed that she was sleeping in her bed at home and was sleeping very comfortably.
After changing clothes and picking up the food I bought this morning, I found my aunt cooking in the kitchen. She was surprised to see me. "Young Madam, you're back! This morning, the old lady asked me to buy some pigeons and said she'd make you some soup tonight. Perfect! I'll make it now so you can enjoy it in time for dinner."
When they reached the main house door, grandpa and grandma were playing games with Peanut. Shen Anning covered her face with the oil paper bag in her hand and jumped into the house, saying, "Guess who I am?"
"Ahhh, mommy, mommy, ah, mommy!" Peanut was so excited that he dropped the toys in his hands and threw them on the ground and went to Shen Anning.
Grandpa Cao and Grandma Cao looked at their great-grandson and couldn't help laughing. They hadn't seen their mother for several days and she would talk about her every night before going to bed. She called the office twice in the middle, but Shen Anning didn't answer.
Little Cao Siheng sat up from the blanket and ran to Shen Anning, hugged her legs, raised his head and kept calling "Mom, Mom".
Shen An Ning put the things in her hand on the table, picked up the little guy and kissed him, then walked to her side and rubbed against Grandma Cao, "I know that grandma loves me. Fortunately, I came back early today, otherwise I would have to eat the delicious food in the evening."
Grandma Cao touched Ana Shen’s face and said, “You must be exhausted these days. You’ve lost so much weight. It will be fine after graduation. Let’s take a break after finishing the thesis and go to the hospital after getting the diploma.”
"Yeah, I'll have plenty of time to spend with you and Grandpa. Let's take Peanut for a nice walk around the area."
Cao Jingheng came back at noon to have lunch with his family. When he saw his wife at the dinner table, he took advantage of no one paying attention, covered the eyes of the little light bulb in the house, and kissed her hard twice.
At the dinner table, Shen An Ning enjoyed a pigeon alone, and Peanut was holding the dried apricots that his mother had "bought" for him. The little guy had already grown ten small baby teeth and ate everything smoothly. Compared with the meals that were often eaten at the table during this period, he was more willing to eat the dried apricots that he seldom ate.
After finishing a piece of dried apricot, Peanut looked at his mother beside him, smiled ingratiatingly, and opened his mouth wide, "Mommy, mommy, look, Bao has finished eating."
"Yeah, great, the soup my wife gave you is no longer hot. Mommy will try it for you. Yeah, it's just right. Do you want to soak some rice?"
The little guy was a little unwilling to give up after not getting a new piece of dried fruit. "Mommy, baby, I want another piece. Just one piece, okay?"
Looking at her spoiled son, Shen Anning wanted to laugh in her heart, but her face remained unmoved. "You have already eaten a piece just now, Peanut. What did Mommy say before? Letting you eat a piece at dinner today is already a reward for Peanut. You have been very good recently. Listen to your wife and dad, right?"
Although he was still a little unhappy, Cao Siheng didn't want his mother to think he was a naughty baby. He wiped his hands with a wet towel and obediently ate the rice and meat prepared for him.
After a week, the family finally got together for dinner. Cao Jingheng did not rush to work after dinner. It started drizzling on the road when he came back just now. It didn't matter if he returned to the police station a few minutes late.
The phone rang, and Grandma Shen, who was sitting closest, picked it up. “Jingheng, it’s your colleague from the police station.”
Cao Jingheng understood every word the police officer on duty said, but it was too outrageous. "What's going on? What's going on? Didn't they say the armed forces were in charge of security today? How could this happen? Where's the director?"
"Okay, I got it. I'll go to the Workers' Stadium right away."
After hanging up the phone and looking at his grandparents, wife and children, Cao Jingheng felt really unhappy. He finally had the chance to chat and play games with his family after dinner. He was so angry.
When Shen Anning heard him on the phone, she knew he was going out, so she took an umbrella and put it at the door. "What's wrong? Can you tell me?"
"The fans caused trouble and we lost."
