Chapter 8: The Proud Mr. Lu

If things get out of hand, it's hard to say who the captain will side with.

"I'm sorry." He said in a muffled voice.

Lu Zhiye scratched his ears: "What?"

Liu Ping's face was gloomy: "I'm sorry."

Lu Zhiye gave him a mocking look and turned away.

When he arrived at the farm, Lu Zhiye was assigned to the wasteland. He went to the warehouse to register his farm tools and found that the girl at the registration office looked familiar.

The girl also noticed Lu Zhiye. She curled her lips. If Lu Zhiye hadn't said before that she hadn't been working, she wouldn't have to sit here and register things.

What others consider to be the easiest job that earns full work points is not worth mentioning in Lu Yuan's eyes.

She pointed to a hoe with a notch: "Lu Zhiye, this is your farm tool!"

Lu Zhiye took an intact hoe and strode away.

Lu Yuan was so angry that he stomped his feet.

But there was a queue behind her, so she could only suppress her anger.

Humph, let my third brother deal with him later!

After work at noon, Lu Zhiye fried a dish in the space and made a bowl of noodles.

With the seasoning, the meat is less fishy.

Served with chili peppers, Lu Zhiye ate it with great satisfaction.

After resting for a while, I went back to work.

Ever since Lu Yong was taught a lesson by his father, he no longer makes sarcastic remarks when he sees Lu Zhiye on the street.

He held his head high and chest out, like a victorious chick, and walked forward without looking around.

After coming back from work in the evening, Mr. Lu San came to Lu Zhiye's house in the dark carrying a bag of rice.

He was panting from exhaustion: "Hurry, help me in."

Lu Zhiye quickly took the sack from his back and put it into the house.

He poured a glass of water for Mr. Lu San: "Grandpa Lu, drink some water to calm down."

Master Lu San finished drinking two gulps and wiped his mouth: "Let me tell you, I exchanged these with some wealthy families in the village."

He smiled mysteriously: "I told them that my son in the city wanted to exchange some. The captain's family paid ten kilograms."

Everyone in the village knows that there are three promising people in Dahe Village.

Lu Zhenhua is in the army, and the allowance he sends back every month is equivalent to a family's savings for half a year.

One is the eldest son of the team leader, who works in the team commune.

The other one is the youngest son of Mr. Lu Sanye, who works in the county steel mill and married a woman from the city.

The captain wanted to establish a good relationship with Mr. Lu Sanye's family and see if he could send their son Lu Yong to the steel plant as well.

The rest of the villagers felt that the end of the year was just a few months away and the grain would be distributed soon, so they kept enough grain to get through the winter and exchanged the rest for some money to keep.

Lu Zhiye stuffed another bag of dried meat into Mr. Lu Sanye’s pocket: “Thank you, Grandpa Lu.”
