Chapter 51 Going Crazy
The "heavy snow" in the twelve solar terms has passed for several days, and a rainstorm suddenly fell when it shouldn't have rained.
The heavy rain lasted for nearly two hours, then turned into sleet.
In order to save her brand new and luxurious desk, Tang Limei was thoroughly drenched by the cold winter rain.
She developed a high fever in the middle of the night.
The temperature went down only after taking antipyretics.
Old Mrs. Tang was also sick. She was in pain all over and groaned in pain all night.
The old man next to me was sleeping soundly, snoring loudly.
Ever since her second son publicly announced that he wanted a divorce, Mrs. Tang’s health has not been very good. The series of misfortunes has dealt her a great blow.
There was no room for things in the house, the old and the young were sick, and Tang Jinhong and Jia Zhenzhen were extremely worried.
Since Tang Jinhong didn't want to take a leave, Jia Zhenzhen had to take a leave and stay at home to clean up the mess.
Tang Limei woke up in the morning, put on a thick cotton jacket, and ran out to check her desk.
Last night, in a hurry, she went to the kitchen and tore off the oilcloth that Tang Xueli used when setting up the stall.
The tarpaulin is large and waterproof and very useful.
"Mom, what's wrong with my table?" Tang Limei asked as she walked.
"I don't know." Jia Zhenzhen said with dark circles under her eyes: "Don't run around anymore, go back to bed and wrap yourself in the quilt."
Tang Limei didn't listen and took two quick steps to the door of the west room.
Finally the rain stopped and the sky cleared up, and she wanted to dry the table in the sun.
The oilcloth was lifted with a loud noise, and Tang Limei burst into tears.
"What's wrong? What's wrong?" Jia Zhenzhen put down the work in her hands and ran over to ask.
"My table, my big desk!" Tang Limei cried loudly, "Mom, what should I do? It's all covered with oil. Here, here, and here. This big area is all dirty black oil!"
She wanted to paint the new desk herself, making it yellow or purple, and also draw some cute little pictures on it, so she didn't let the carpenter paint it.
Now the oil mixed with rainwater has seeped into the wood and is impossible to clean.
"I haven't even used my new desk yet, how come it has become like this!"
Jia Zhenzhen thought something terrible had happened, but when she saw that it was just the dirty table, she breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Just clean it when you have time. It won't delay your use."
"Why not delay it? It's already like this, how can we use it?" Tang Limei screamed.
Old Mrs. Tang was lying in the room, crying “Ouch!” and “Ouch!” She said, “It’s so noisy.”
The noise made her headache worse.
Jia Zhenzhen pushed her daughter and said, "Go in quickly and lie down to cover your sweat."
Tang Limei returned to her bed crying, buried her face in the pillow, and cried her heart out.
When Tang Jinhong came back in the evening, the family had a big argument while discussing how to rearrange the furniture.
"The desk is too big and there's no place to put it. The same goes for the dressing table. Let's sell them all!" Tang Jinhong made the decision.
Tang Limei yelled, "No, how can I do my homework and study without a desk?"
"Use the original one." Tang Jinhong said sternly, "Don't blame the desk if you can't learn well. People from poor families can do their homework on a bench and get into college. Stop making excuses for yourself!"
Jia Zhenzhen pointed to a small empty space at the end of the bed and said, "You can put the dressing table here. It can fit."
"You are a rich lady, aren't you? You don't need a dressing table. Just wash your face!" Tang Jinhong slammed the table and accused Jia Zhenzhen bluntly, "What have you been doing at home all day? Why is the house still so messy?"
Jia Zhenzhen felt very aggrieved, "If you are good enough, why don't you stay and work tomorrow?"
Mr. Tang tapped his pipe on the sole of his shoe and said slowly, "Leave the one behind the dining table for me. I'll put my fishing rod there."
Tang Jinhong looked worried, "Dad, put the fishing rod under the bed. There's no room for it in the room."
"There's no room under the bed. It's difficult to get it and it's too dirty." After saying this, Mr. Tang lay down to rest.
Tang Jinhong felt exhausted, "I'll take half a day off tomorrow, sell the desk and dresser, and return the room to its original state. The space behind the dining table was originally empty, and it will be used to hold Dad's fishing rod."
The old man is the most troublesome person, and as a son, he cannot beat or scold his old father, so he can only try his best to follow his wishes.
"No, you can't sell my desk!" Tang Limei wanted her new desk even though it was stained with oil.
Tang Jinhong raised his hand and slapped him, "How old are you? Can you understand something?"
Tang Limei wiped her tears and rushed out of the room, went to the east room and banged on the door.
"Tang Xueli, come out!"
After a few seconds, the door slowly opened, and Tang Xueli stretched her neck lazily, "What's the matter?"
Tang Limei said fiercely with swollen eyes: "You stay at my desk!"
What crazy talk is this guy talking about!
Tang Xueli: "If you are sick, go to the hospital."
"Your oilcloth has made my desk dirty. It's soaked with oil! I can't brush it off!"
Tang Xueli didn't know whether to laugh or cry, "You stole my oilcloth and you're blaming me for it?"
"It's your fault! You have to pay for my desk!" Tang Limei pretended to be reasonable and said, "You don't have to pay for something so big, just pay for something smaller."
Anyway, I can’t fit the big one now, so I might as well ask Tang Xueli for a small one.
It can be considered as making up for some losses.
Her calculations could be heard by an old man with hearing loss eight hundred miles away.
Tang Xueli closed the door and locked it.
What more can you say to an unreasonable lunatic?
Tang Shuangshuang asked quietly: "What's the matter?"
"It's okay." Tang Xueli said, "I'm just going crazy!"
Tang Limei yelled at the door: "Tang Xueli, open the door, don't try to cheat, hurry up and sit at my table!"
Tang Shuangshuang curled her lips, chuckled and said, "That's crazy! Are you going to ignore her?"
Tang Xueli: "It's okay, her father will take her away."
"Then forget about her. Come and take a look at the shirt I bought for you." Tang Shuangshuang shook out the clothes to show her sister, "I promised you before that I would buy you new clothes when I get a job and make money. I'll keep my word, right?"
The honeycomb coal was burning particularly well this year, and the room was warm. Tang Xueli took off her coat and tried on her new shirt.
"Aren't you going to participate in a quiz soon? You must have a nice white shirt to wear under your blue sweater. It will look so nice!"
Tang Shuangshuang pulled her sister in front of the dressing mirror and said, "My sister is getting prettier and prettier. Xueli, have you lost weight?"
Tang Xueli nodded: "Yeah."
She measured herself using the scale at the grain store and found that she had lost twenty pounds since she came back from the Great Northern Wilderness.
"Wow, it's so beautiful!" Tang Shuangshuang said, "I went to the department store and asked the salesperson for the best shirt, and it really is great!"
Tang Xueli looked at herself in the mirror and found that she was not only thinner, but also much whiter.
The most important thing is that he looks very good and seems to be glowing.
This was a state she had never been in before.
"Do you like it?" Tang Shuangshuang asked.
"I like it very much." Tang Xueli said with a smile: "Thank you, second sister."
Tang Shuangshuang waved her hands: "Why are you thanking me? You're still being polite to me."
The two sisters were happily trying on clothes and chatting in the house.
The laughter and joyful chatter sounded particularly harsh to Tang Limei's ears.
She slammed the door and cursed, "Tang Xueli, you are so shameless."
As soon as he finished speaking, he was hit hard on the back of his head.
Tang Jinhong dragged his daughter back to the west room, threw her on the bed, and shouted, "Can you stop embarrassing me?"
