Chapter 531 The Landlord's Persuasion (1/2)

The old man memorized the address of the rented house.

He found the landlord who lived in the alley.

"I only have a little over 2,000 yuan. Do you think I can rent a place? Of course, if I don't have enough money, I can earn more."

The landlady was a slightly plump, middle-aged woman with a protruding belly. When she saw the old man's appearance, she couldn't take her eyes off him.

"That's enough, that's enough. I'll only charge you 2,000 yuan a month. Normally, my house is for a minimum six-month lease, so I don't need your deposit. Just pay one month's rent first."

"2000 is so expensive?"

"Handsome, is this your first day renting a room? Why don't you go out and look around and see what the prices are for houses in these old alleyways?" The landlord was a little unhappy, cursing the poor guy in his heart.

But when she looked at the old ancestor's face, which was so beautiful it was almost otherworldly, she just couldn't bring herself to chase him away.

"Then 1500 it is, that'll leave you some money for food. But handsome, you still need to earn more money outside. With your skills, how can you not earn money?"

The old man thought about how easy it was for him to make money, and reluctantly took out 1,500.

When the landlord was collecting the money, he actually gave the old man's hand a lewd squeeze.

Her hands, with their distinct, slender fingers, felt just right. The landlord chuckled, took the money, and swayed away, carrying her slightly thick waist.

She even forgot to ask her grandfather to take out his ID card to register; she's really careless.

The old man didn't even notice when his hand was pinched; he was only concerned about the conditions of the house he would be staying in next.

The rental houses in the old alleyways bear the marks of time on their exterior walls.

The wooden doors and windows are slightly worn, revealing the vicissitudes of time, and the stone steps at the entrance are worn smooth by people's footsteps, as if telling the story of this place.

Upon entering the house, one can immediately sense its unique atmosphere. The room is simply and plainly furnished with some old furniture, exuding a strong retro vibe.

The glass in the windows was a little blurry, through which one could see the bustling alleyway. Sunlight streamed into the room through the gaps in the roof, creating dappled patterns of light.

The floor is covered with old wooden floorboards that creak when you walk on them. There is a wooden desk against the wall, piled with various books left by the previous tenant.

The kitchen in the rented room was small, but it was fully equipped.

The iron pot on the stove emitted a faint smoky aroma, and although the bathroom facilities were simple, they met basic living needs. The rented rooms in the old alleyways, though simple, possessed a unique charm.

This gave the old man a sense of familiarity. 1500 it is, but he didn't have much money left.

The old man used to be waited on hand and foot; it was almost impossible for him to cook for himself, so he always ate out.

The money was spent quite quickly. While eating out, he saw everyone holding something called a cell phone, and he wanted a cell phone again.

He knew about this; his neighbors and landlord all had it.

He's too poor; he needs to make money faster.

Over the past few days, my ancestor has noticed that people in restaurants pay their bills with their phones, realizing that nobody still uses cash these days, unless they're too old to use a phone.

He had originally planned to go down to the overpass and wait to see if he could make some more money, but now he realized it was going to be difficult.

With little money left, he could only buy cheap street food, like fried rice noodles or fried rice, and eat it back at his rented room.

That's when the landlord caught them.

"Handsome, are you out of money?"

The old ancestor kept a cold face, not wanting to show any weakness.
