Chapter 30 Xiong Er's Sense of Crisis

Lin Dongdong was excited the whole way.

After being held by her brother-in-law for a while, she wanted to try riding a cow.

But she couldn't bear to let go, afraid that her brother-in-law would disappear.

So Lin Dongdong was conflicted, muttering to herself: Should I ride the ox or hug my brother-in-law?

Li Chang'an looked helplessly at this foolish child.

But then I thought about it again, and realized that the little guy had been waiting for me for three or four days, so I didn't say anything.

He carried Lin Dongdong, helped her onto the ox, and solved Dongdong's problem.

"Ah, brother-in-law, brother-in-law, Da Niu is such a good boy!"

Lin Dongdong rode on the ox's back, holding onto its horns, directing it to move forward, and excitedly bellowing.

Before she even entered the village, some children were drawn out by her voice.

"Dongdong, why are you riding a cow?!"

"Wow, that's amazing! I want to ride it too!"

"Young master, you're back! Young master has returned riding an ox."

The younger girls looked timidly at the big yellow ox, a mixture of fear and envy.

I envy Lin Dongdong riding that big ox; she looks so impressive.

The boys jogged alongside the oxcart, shouting as they ran. Every now and then they would run up to the ox, look at it, and yell and shout, looking completely silly.

Before long, a group of little kids followed behind the oxcart.

Lin Youchu was feeding her baby formula at home, her eyes red and swollen. She hadn't slept well for the past few days.

I often dream in the middle of the night that my husband is not coming back.

She was so scared that she barely dared to sleep, fearing that her dreams would come true.

She was also a little worried. Her two younger sisters were a burden, and she wasn't hardworking enough. She didn't even have a house. Would her husband really abandon her and go to the city to enjoy a life of luxury?

Lin Youchu was so engrossed in her thoughts that she forgot to feed the baby formula.

The little girl was so anxious that she opened her mouth wide, thrashed about with her little hands, trying to grab the spoon, and started shouting.

"Oh~ Oh~ Oh~"

Hearing Xiaoya's anxious voice, Youchu realized what was happening and quickly fed Xiaoya.

"Little girl, do you think your brother-in-law doesn't want your sister anymore?" Lin Youchu asked softly.

Unfortunately, the little girl couldn't speak, nor could she understand. She could only grin at her sister and say "Oh~" as a response.

“You don’t have any worries, you just eat and sleep, sleep and eat, but if your brother-in-law doesn’t come back soon, you won’t have any more baby formula.”

Lin Youchu was a little worried. Although her husband had left a lot of food for the family, it wouldn't be a good idea to just sit around and eat it all if he didn't come back.

Before she could think it through, she heard a commotion outside the thatched hut, and vaguely heard someone calling for her son-in-law.

She quickly put the little girl down and pushed open the door to look inside.

Dongdong was riding a big yellow ox, proudly raising his head, looking as arrogant as a rooster raised in the village.

The man behind her was none other than the husband she had been longing for day and night.

Lin Youchu covered her mouth, and tears streamed down her face.

"Greetings, son-in-law!"

"Young master, you're back!"

"Son-in-law, did you buy this cow?"

The villagers who were helping to build the house greeted Li Chang'an with smiles on their faces.

The crowd gathered around the oxcart, all of them filled with envy.

Wow!

Even before famines, this kind of thing was a rare find.

A village with one cow is a wealthy village.

Unexpectedly, the son-in-law brought back two animals, and everyone couldn't help but praise them.

Xiong Er even rushed to lead the big yellow ox, looking extremely loyal.

Seeing his expression, Li Chang'an couldn't help but tease him, "We're already home, why are you coming up to help me?"

"I'm just looking after the cows for my son-in-law, afraid these people will scare them," Xiong Er replied with a silly grin.

After this trip to the city, in his mind, the son-in-law's status became even more noble.

Li Chang'an ignored him and looked at Lin Youchu, who was leaning against him, covering her mouth and crying silently. He said, "Silly girl."

He stepped forward and saw Youchu looking both shy and happy. He couldn't help but hug her and said, "I'm back now, why are you crying?"

Lin Youchu blushed with embarrassment, covered her face and dared not speak, cautiously smelling the scent on Li Chang'an.

I felt a sense of peace in my heart.

My dear husband, you're back. You've worked so hard.

Lin Youchu silently recited it in her heart, her mouth slightly open, but she didn't say it out loud.

The little girl in the thatched hut turned her head and stared wide-eyed at the two adulterers embracing each other.

"Oh~"

She gave Li Chang'an an "oh" as a greeting, and then started putting the spoon in her mouth.

The rice cooker is number one in the world.

Li Chang'an beckoned, calling Xiong Er and the steward over.

"Is the new house ready to live in?"

This question was asked by Li Chang'an to Xiong Er.

“Son-in-law, it’s fine. It’s just that since you haven’t returned, Madam doesn’t want to move in,” Xiong Er replied.

Li Chang'an patted You Chu's head and looked at her with some helplessness: "Silly girl, houses are built for people to live in. There's no such thing as waiting for me to come back before moving in."

Youchu dared not speak, silently thinking to herself: It would be best to wait for my husband to return so we could move in together.

"Laifu." Seeing that Youchu was too embarrassed to speak, Li Chang'an gave the order.

"Young Master!"

Lai Fu spoke up, startling the villagers who began to whisper among themselves.

"Later, move the things from the oxcart to the new house. Then you few can stay here for now. Tomorrow I'll build a few more houses for you to live in," Li Chang'an instructed.
