In the afternoon, after get off work, Mu Yanran ran to the Song family without telling her brother.
As soon as she entered the door, several eyes were looking at Mu Yanran. It was her first time going to her sister-in-law's house, and she seemed a little uneasy. She clenched her hands nervously and asked Song Fan for help.
Song Fan brought someone back from get off work without telling anyone. Before Song Fan could even open his mouth, his mother, who had gone from stunned to angry to furious, had already picked up a pillow and threw it at him, then used her hands and feet to do the same.
"Song Fan, are you a human being? The girl is so young, and you're bullying her?"
Mu Yanran had never seen such a scene before, so she immediately moved aside.
Before Song Fan could even open his mouth, he fell into his mother's clutches.
He wisely explained as he ran, "Mom, you misunderstood, this is not my girlfriend."
"If she's not your girlfriend, why did you bring her back? You little brat, you dare not take responsibility for what you did?"
"Mom, mom, stop hitting her. That's Mu Jingjue's sister. Stop it now."
"Sister, sister, what a head." Mom blurted out, and then her hand visibly stopped in mid-air, "Whose sister did you just say she is?"
Seeing that his mother had finally calmed down, Song Fan carefully removed his hand that was blocking his way. Then, he stood a meter away from his mother and pointed at Mu Yanran who was not far away and said, "Look, that one over there is Mu Jingjue's sister, Mu Yanran, the little daughter of the Mu family."
Upon hearing this, my mother turned her head suspiciously, then looked him up and down to make sure if he was lying. She saw that there was indeed some similarity between him and her in his eyes and eyebrows.
Mu Yanran looked at Song's mother and gave her an awkward smile. Right now, she really didn't know how to face this woman with such strong fighting ability. She was afraid that if she got unhappy, she would come over and beat her up. Thinking of that scene, she felt a little panicked and scared.
Mother Song's expression changed at a speed visible to the naked eye. She quickly dropped the things in her hands, walked over and pulled Mu Yanran to sit aside.
"Oh, this is Yanran, right? She's so pretty. Don't worry, Auntie isn't that mean. She's easy to get along with. It was just a joke. I'm sorry to have embarrassed you."
Mu Yanran didn't know what to respond, so she just followed her words, smiled, and looked at the hand she was holding with some panic, trying to pull it away, but unfortunately she failed.
Song Fan's mouth twitched a few times. Damn, he's so fickle. Who knew who that fierce woman was just now? Now she's turned into an elegant woman. It's really hard to refute her.
Song's father and Song Yu were no longer surprised. After all, they had often seen their mother's frequent tantrums. However, she looked at the person being warmly greeted by her mother with some curiosity. What was she doing here? Was she trying to steal her sister's favor?
"Mom, don't scare me. I'm still young and can't stand being frightened." Seeing that she was about to cry, Song Fan finally spoke up to help her out. Mu Yanran gave him a grateful look.
His mother stared at him unhappily and thought, do you want me to talk nonsense here?
But she soon realized that this might scare the girl, so she became more tactful.
"Yanran, don't be afraid. Just treat this like home and be casual."
"Okay, Auntie." Mu Yanran didn't know how to address her sister-in-law's mother, so she just called her Auntie. Anyway, she wouldn't blame herself for the name.
"Well, how old are you this year?"
"It's my birthday now. I'm 17 this year."
"17? Then you are the same age as Yu'er, and Yu'er is also 17." Song's mother pointed at Song Yu who was standing beside her. When Song Yu saw her looking at her, she immediately waved to her as a greeting.
Mu Yanran nodded at her, then froze again. Isn't this the new and popular actor on TV? He looks even better in real life than on TV. Sure enough, my sister-in-law's brothers and sisters are all good-looking.
"So you should be a sophomore now, right?"
"Well, after the summer vacation I'll be a sophomore in high school."
"Okay then, how are your grades? They must be very good, right? Your brother is so talented, he must be very good, unlike this brat of mine who can't do anything."
Someone who was told by his mother that he can't do anything, was innocently blamed and became withdrawn. His final grade last semester was a 4.0 GPA, okay? How can he be made to look like he is useless?
Mu Yanran's cheeks visibly flushed when Mother Song said this. How could she respond to this? Calling her a scumbag? Wouldn't that be embarrassing for her?
So she remained silent. Fortunately, Song's mother did not ask her how many points she had taken the test. Otherwise, she would not have known how embarrassed she was today. She realized for the first time that having bad grades was still very embarrassing, at least it was embarrassing for her sister-in-law. She swore that she must study hard and improve her grades when she returned. Otherwise, she would be embarrassed to say it when someone asked her next time.
"Yanran, why are you here?"
