Chapter 70: Getting Salary
"Then Director Li, please tell me what you need me to do."
Zhao Yi looked at Director Li and said.
"Okay, go ahead and do your work. I'll let you know as soon as there's any news. It'll take at least three to five days to get the news."
Director Li nodded and said.
Zhao Yi thanked him quickly and then walked towards the repair shop.
I hope this matter can be resolved.
After returning to the repair shop, Zhao Yi had nothing to do, so he went to the bookstore, applied for a library card, and borrowed some books to pass the time.
No one sent any home appliances for repair until the evening when comrades from the Transportation Department came to take away the radio that had been sent for repair in the morning.
In the evening, Zhao Yi left work early.
After returning home, Zhao Yi started preparing dinner.
After Zhang Jing came back, the two of them had dinner and walked towards the cinema.
I have always wanted to take Zhang Jing to the movies, but I have been too busy to have the time.
Now that I have some free time, I have some time.
As soon as the two of them walked to the entrance of the cinema, Zhao Yi ran into three ungrateful people at home, and it seemed that they were followed by their classmates.
"Brother, sister-in-law."
When Zhao Xiaoxiao saw Zhao Yi, she quickly walked up to him and greeted him with a smile.
"When did you come to the area?"
Zhang Jing was very happy to see acquaintances, especially her own family members.
Zhao Yi wasn't very happy, he just nodded slightly.
"We have been here for almost half a month. We are now studying in a middle school next to the steel plant's staff quarters in the city. How come you, brother and sister-in-law, are here too?"
Zhao Xiaoxiao said.
"Your eldest brother and I came to the city to work. Your eldest brother is a maintenance worker at the East City Department Store. He comes to our house when he has time. Are you guys here with your classmates to watch a movie?"
Zhang Jing asked.
"Well, let's come over to watch a movie. School happens to be on holiday today."
Zhao Xiaoxiao nodded.
"Is the money enough? If not, I'll give you one dollar."
Zhang Jing said.
“Ahem.”
Zhao Yi coughed twice at this time, and Zhang Jing hurriedly looked at Zhao Yi.
"I was in a hurry to go out, so I brought two dimes to buy a movie ticket. You guys go ahead and do your work. I'm going to the movies with your brother."
Zhang Jing quickly changed the subject.
"Just mind your own business, don't worry about us, we have money."
Zhao Xiaoxiao waved her hand, and Zhao Yi walked towards the ticket office, with Zhang Jing following slowly behind.
"Three ungrateful wolves, stop chatting with them."
Looking at Zhao Gang, Zhao Yong and Zhao Xiaoxiao who were not far away, Zhao Yi would never forget the things of his previous life.
"I see. I was a little happy to see them just now, but I forgot about it in a moment. I know I won't talk to them too much, and I won't bring them home, okay?"
Zhang Jing said with a smile.
"Um."
Zhao Yi smiled, then led Zhang Jing into the cinema.
Zhang Jing was a little excited as it was her first time entering a cinema and was curious about everything she saw.
After watching the movie, Zhang Jing still felt a little unsatisfied.
"Let's come back when we have time. A movie ticket is only a few cents."
Zhao Yi walked beside Zhang Jing and said.
"You are so kind, boss, but we can't come here every day. It's a waste of money. We can just come here once every two weeks."
Zhang Jing said with a slightly blushing face.
Looking at Zhao Yi's receding back, Zhao Gang and Zhao Yong kept curling their lips.
"He's just a worker, why are you so proud?"
"Second brother, what you said is not right. When you see the eldest brother, you don't go up to greet him first, and you are waiting for the eldest brother to greet you?"
Zhao Xiaoxiao interrupted.
"You are a flatterer. You just want to flatter the big brother because he has become a worker. Do you think he is willing to pay attention to you? Forget it."
Zhao Gang rolled his eyes at Zhao Xiaoxiao and then followed the third brother Zhao Yong back to the school.
Zhao Xiaoxiao looked at the backs of Zhao Yi and Zhang Jing as they walked away, and decided to follow Zhao Gang and Zhao Yong to school. She was not trying to flatter them, but her mother asked her to find more topics to talk about with Zhao Yi, or to chat more with her sister-in-law Zhang Jing.
In a flash, another ten days passed.
Today is the day when the department store pays salaries.
Zhao Yi took his salary and walked towards the Finance Department.
After signing, I received 36 yuan.
Zhao Yi walked towards the sales area with a smile on his face, bought some gifts and walked towards Director Li's office. The receipts had been issued yesterday.
"Master Zhao, please sit down."
Director Li smiled and pointed to the bench opposite the desk.
Director Li waited until he finished his work before looking at Zhao Yi.
"Let's go. They haven't gotten off work yet and you're not busy either. Let's go over and take care of Zhang Jing's matter."
Director Li said with a smile.
"That's too much trouble, Director Li. You have to accept these things no matter what. And I have one more thing to tell you. I have to take a day off tomorrow."
Zhao Yi handed the gift to Director Li and said slowly.
"The repair shop isn't busy right now, so just go and do what you need. Don't thank me, we're all colleagues."
Director Li waved his hand and said.
Afterwards, the two of them went to the district general office together and obtained a certificate from the district's Dongcheng Department Store Street Office stating that it was willing to accept Zhang Jing's food and household registration. Zhao Yi also handed over the gift he had prepared.
Now when we go back to Wangou Village tomorrow to ask Li Dequan to issue a migration certificate, Zhang Jing will have a city hukou.
After getting these certificates, Zhao Yi happily followed Director Li back to the department store. After a brief chat with Director Li, he returned to the maintenance shop to work.
Not long after we sat down, it was time to get off work.
"The household registration issue has been resolved, and the street office here is willing to accept you. You will have hope of becoming a worker in the future."
Zhao Yi had just finished cooking when Zhang Jing came back.
When Zhao Yi saw Zhang Jing, he shared this matter with her immediately.
Zhao Yi followed Director Li everywhere, to the street office, the general office, and whenever he made contact with good people, Director Li would ask Zhao Yi to treat them to a meal at a state-owned restaurant and give them some gifts to help them get to know each other better.
After so many days of hard work, the results finally came to fruition.
"Really? You're so awesome as the head of the family."
Zhang Jing's face immediately broke into a smile.
Now Zhang Jing has learned how to use a sewing machine. Every day after get off work, she goes home to make fake collars. There is no problem in making one a day. She delivers them to the department store once every ten days and can earn three yuan.
Zhao Yi let Zhang Jing keep the money for herself to buy her favorite snacks.
In addition, Zhang Jing earned 23 yuan a month as an apprentice in a garment factory.
As for the soles, he asked his father-in-law to take them back and make them. Zhang Jing didn't have time to do them, and Zhao Yi didn't want Zhang Jing to be so tired.
Early the next morning.
Zhao Yi rummaged through the drawers at home and took out some gifts that others had given him, then took a bus back to Shanyang County.
Before lunch time, Zhao Yi had already returned to Wangou Village.
He walked straight towards Li De's family.
"Brother Yi."
When Zhao Laowu saw Zhao Yi, he immediately shouted happily.
"Old Five, long time no see."
Zhao Yi took out two pieces of cake and handed them over.
"Brother Yi, where have you been during this period? I haven't seen you in the village."
Zhao Laowu took the pastry and put it directly into his pocket with some embarrassment.
(There was a power outage at home, and I thought the power would come back. I waited for several hours but it didn't come back, so I had to go to a nearby Internet cafe. It was too noisy in the Internet cafe and I couldn't concentrate on writing the book. This delayed all the Yanzu and Shenxian sisters from reading the book. I would like to say sorry to everyone here.)
