Ma Yunfei was taken aback. There wasn't a single pedestrian on this deserted road. It seemed he was definitely going to get a beating today.
Ma Yunfei, trying to remain calm, said, "Chen Xiaotou, I'm warning you: if you dare to lay a finger on me today, your days as a large-scale livestock farmer are over."
"Haha... You really think you're the mayor's godson, able to control everything in town? Today I'm not only going to lay a finger on you, I'm going to beat you to a pulp."
After Chen Xiaotou finished speaking, he waved to the two bodyguards: "Get them!"

Two bodyguards roared and rushed forward.
Ma Yunfei closed his eyes and thought: It's over. It seems that even if I don't die today, I'll only have half a life left.
He regretted not heeding the young widow's advice, and also regretted not bringing the abbot along to settle scores with Chen Xiaotou.

Ma Yunfei exclaimed in delight, "Ye Ya, you've come at just the right time! If you had come a moment later, my head would have been smashed open, and I might have lost my life here too."
The two bodyguards were lying on the ground groaning, and it seemed they wouldn't be able to get up anytime soon.
"Brother Ma, who is this guy? Why did he hit you?"
"Ya, this guy set up a tripwire around here a few nights ago, which almost caused my car to crash and I to death."

"No, it really wasn't me who put it in..."
Ye Ya put some force into her foot, and Chen Xiaotou's face turned red. He tried to shout, but no sound came out.
Worried that someone might die, Ma Yunfei quickly said, "Ye Ya, don't suffocate him."
Wild Girl loosened her grip and asked fiercely, "I'll ask you one last time: Did you do it?"
Chen Xiaotou quickly said, "I admit it, it was...it was me. I'll never do it again. Please forgive me this time."
Ma Yunfei realized that Chen Xiaotou had been forced to confess under torture in order to save his life.
He asked, "Chen Xiaotou, take me to the place where the tripwire is."
Chen Xiaotou got up from the ground, looked around, pointed ahead and said, "It's right there."
Chen Xiaotou pointed in the wrong direction; clearly, he didn't set the tripwire.
Ma Yunfei thought to himself: If it really was Chen Xiaotou who tripped him up, then these two bodyguards would definitely be implicated.
So he squatted down next to a bodyguard and asked, "A few nights ago, you and Chen Xiaotou set a tripwire for me. Was that tripwire made of wire or hemp rope?"
The bodyguard answered in a panic, "It's...it's a rope."
Ma Yunfei laughed, patted the bodyguard's face, and mocked, "So after all this time, you're just a bunch of cowards."
Ye Ya asked, "Brother Ma, tell me, these people are trying to frame you, what should we do with them?"
"Wild girl, forget it, they didn't do it."
"Brother Ma, they've all admitted it, so why are you saying they didn't do it?"
