I closed my eyes and opened them again, and it was already three in the morning.
Just like the previous few days, Feng Ye didn't wake up on her own; she was woken up by someone else.
He reluctantly opened his sleepy eyes.
He really wanted to sleep until he naturally woke up.
But his assets aren't large enough to make his hands cramp from counting them, so naturally he can't afford to sleep in until he naturally wakes up.
No matter how unwilling he was, he had no choice but to get up.
Making money is a man's top priority.
After getting dressed, I stretched my neck and back to shake off the sleepiness, but I still felt quite tired.
Severe sleep deprivation.
perhaps?
perhaps?
possible?
Is it somewhat related to what I did during the day and night yesterday?
After finishing the meal that Feng Xuan had heated up, they each got another lunchbox of rice, but no need for side dishes, as it's better to eat fresh food. Then the two went to the dock.
As always, Ah-chan arrived early and was already waiting on the boat.
"Ah Chan, how do you manage to get up so early without getting enough sleep?"
Feng Ye rubbed his eyes and looked at A-Can, who was sitting on the boat, still half asleep.
"How could I get up? I sleep until dawn every day. These past few days, my dad has been waking me up."
Ah-chan yawned, looking listless.
Feng Ye rolled her eyes, thinking he had some kind of secret technique.
It turns out that, just like me, they were all woken up by someone.
Once aboard the ship, Feng Xuan went to the driver's seat and started the engine.
With the clatter of the diesel engine, the Rising Sun set off for fishing once again.
"It will take about two hours to sail. You can go and get some sleep first."
Seeing that both of them looked like they hadn't slept enough, Feng Xuan said something.
"Then we're going to sleep. Wake us up when we get there."
The two nodded, and without any ceremony, they casually lay down on the deck and closed their eyes.
In no time, the two fell asleep, snoring softly.
After driving for more than an hour, the sky began to lighten.
Dawn is breaking.
After driving for another twenty minutes or so, we arrived at the area where longline fishing is done.
They timed their departure carefully because they needed to retrieve their longline fishing line first, which is why they were a little late; otherwise, they would have set off at 2 PM.
When it's still dark, it's basically impossible to reel in a longline fish because it's hard to find a float.
Due to the wind and waves the day before yesterday, the longline fishing, like the bottom rig, has shifted from its original position.
Feng Xuan searched for more than ten minutes before finally spotting the buoy.
He first woke up Feng Ye and A Can, then adjusted the course of the Rising Sun and headed towards the buoy they saw.
The first thing Feng Ye saw when he woke up was a rosy glow appearing where the sea met the sky.
The red glow gradually expanded and became brighter.
The sun is about to rise from the horizon.
"This is... just in time for sunrise?"
Feng Ye was startled, rubbed his eyes, and stared intently at the place where the sea and sky met.
Sure enough, after a while, half of the sun's face appeared there; it was very red, but without any light.
The sun seemed to be carrying a heavy burden, slowly and laboriously rising upwards.
Finally, it broke through the clouds and leaped completely out of the sea.
In an instant, the deep red round object emitted a dazzling light that stung the eyes.
The clouds beside it suddenly gained luster.
When the sunlight shines directly on the water, it's hard to tell where the sea ends and the sky begins; all you see is a dazzling expanse of light.
"So beautiful!"
Feng Ye stared blankly at the screen, muttering to himself.
"What a load of rubbish! If you want to see it, you can see it every day. Aren't you tired of it? Get back to work."
Ah-chan glanced at the horizon, said disdainfully, and then used his hook to pull up the buoy.
Feng Ye rolled her eyes at A-Can, thinking, "He can't even appreciate such a beautiful view. What a boring person."
But as Ah-chan said, it was time to get to work, so he had to give up appreciating the beautiful scenery.
Feng Ye walked over to A-Can and watched A-Can pull the line back.
He was a little curious about how much of the cargo he had brought in today was still fresh.
After all, the longline fishing hadn't been retrieved yesterday and had been in the sea for two days and two nights.
He didn't have high expectations; he just wanted to make sure the trip wasn't a complete waste of time.
"Have you caught any fish?"
Feng Xuan then turned off the machine and ran over.
Ah-chan tugged at the line: "It looks like I've hooked a fish, but I can't feel it struggling at all."
Feng Ye said disappointedly, "So it's dead. I wonder if it's still fresh?"
Ah-Can continued reeling in the line and soon pulled up a fish.
They then saw the fish clearly; it was a yellowtail snapper.
It looks quite big, weighing over two pounds.
After Feng Ye removed the fish and opened the gill cover, he saw that the gills were already white with a hint of black.
This fish is no good. Although it hasn't gone bad yet, it's no longer fresh.
"What a pity, it could have sold for a few dollars."
Feng Xuan shook his head; he had also noticed the color of the fish gills.
"As expected, judging from the color, this yellowtail snapper should have taken the bait quite early."
Feng Ye didn't feel it was a great pity.
He didn't throw it away, but reused it.
He took out a knife and made a few quick cuts, slicing it into small pieces. Then he picked up one piece and hung it on a hook.
Ah-Can pulled up several more lines, but none of them were empty hooks. The problem was that none of them were fresh.
This left all three of them speechless.
"Damn it, couldn't you have sent one alive?"
Ah-Can cursed and continued reeling in the line, but suddenly felt the main line was very heavy and difficult to reel in, while also sensing the fish struggling.
